Great meal for Father’s Day. Loved the food. You could tell that the food had been prepared with great care. Friendly, but not overly so, service. Waiters very knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the building. Parmesan and squid ink rolls were delicious as was the entire menu. The wine was excellent - Cabernet merlot. Will definately go back. Rustic yet smart decor. Up market feel to the place which made it more special. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Superb setting in Hampshire countryside, easy to park the car. The food is excellent, well presented, ideal portion size and delicious. There is a good selection of starters and mains. We both had the trout as a starter while the monkfish for my main was outstanding. The drink selection is very good, with an excellent choice of wines. Service was brilliant, not overpowering but attentive and helpful, time taken to take order and serve the food was just right. Would highly recommend particular for a couple wanting a nice meal in a relaxing atmosphere at the end of a busy week. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Went for our 20th anniversary.we chose this place as this is where we had our wedding reception. We had a starter, main and dessert. The food was absolute out of this world. It had flavour and was just so tasty. I would highly recommmend the old forge to EVERYONE. The staff were polite and the service was good. The lighting was a little dark but made it romantic for us with all the candles. A perfect way to spend our anniversary. Thankyou very much the old forge. I'm sure we will sure you very soon. This is the second time we've taken our two Grandchildren, age 8 and 5, to Zizzis for lunch before going to the Pantomime at the Theatre Royal. The children love it there, menu is good for them, they both loved the Garlic Bread starter with crudites. The staff are great with children , nothing is too much trouble. We enjoyed our meal too. A good start to an eventful day. MoreOpenTable Diner -
The ASK Italian restaurant in Winchester is proud to call God Begot House home. Eating in this stunning Grade II listed building, believed to date back almost 1000 years, is an experience not to be missed. We also recommend the historical tours of the cobbled streets as old as the capital of England.
Our chefs rise to the challenge of the our surroundings to offer you a large and varied menu that includes assorted meat and fish dishes, as well as more traditional Italian cuisine. As well as the public dining space, we have a private function room called the Queen Matilda room, which you can hire for parties of up to 14 guests.More
