Hangleton Manor Ratings and Reviews
I took a woman of 98 years. The staff were wonderful, very helpful charming and attentive. My only criticism is that for this woman there was too much food and it was a little overwhelming. It was well cooked but perhaps just a bit less on the plate would have been easier.
The Hangleton Manor has improved so much this year.
Under new management, it has become a great pub and restaurant and the recent menu changes are great.
On Saturday evening, we took friends who had previously eaten here and not been that impressed - now they want to know when we are going back. We had a great evening, fabulous food and excellent service. Good value for money too.
Another lovely evening at the Hangleton Manor.
We both had the bacon and Cheeseburger and switched the fries for Sweet Potato fries. This is the only place that I know of that can make decent, crispy on the outside, sweet potato fries, well worth trying.
New menus is great and the staff were the right amount of attentive and really friendly.
Will be visiting here again soon.
I love the Hangleton I've been here four times in the last couple of months because it is back to 'excellent' under new management.
The staff are friendly - I have to mention Shereen here because she's been consistently lovely and knowledgeable.
The new menu is a great improvement. I had the Chicken Caesar Burger and upgraded to Sweet Potato Fries - I would definitely recommend this.
A return visit and not at all disappointed. The service was fantastic. The food was well presented, delicious and plenty of it! On reflection, although I enjoyed the starter I choose, I really was quite full! However, I did manage to eat my main meal but could no way fit in a pudding which I'd been looking forward to! The 3 other members of my party all enjoyed 3 courses but certainly didn't need any more food for the remainder of the day!
The Manor is a great place for drinks and food. Service is friendly and changing mushy peas & curry sauce for garden peas and mayo was no problem. The huge malted chunk of bread that came with our prawn cocktail was wonderful. Would happily have taken loaf home. 3 course meal with bottle of wine & 2 pints of beer came to just under £65 for two. Very good value and exceedingly nice food.
An amazing historic building with lots of history, which the manager found time in her busy evening to talk us through. The staff were attentive without intrusion and arrived with a smile. Food wise ... delicious on all 3 courses and generous sized portions with options for vegetarians too. We had a fantastic evening and will certainly return very soon. Highly recommended.
Visited for my dad's birthday. Had a table near another large celebration who were very loud but the staff were very helpful and friendly and happy to move us. Fab food, really glad for big and small portions on menu as I'm only a small eater ! Staff were lovely and the Manor itself is a fab setting !
There is a wide range of pub grub available - all well presented. The staff are brilliant - Billie and Callum looked after us and were attentive without being obtrusive - we couldn't have asked for better service! The Christmas decorations combined with the fabric of the old manor house produced a very festive ambiance.
Hangleton Manor is a great venue any time of the year. Staff are just great and knowledgeable on menu choices plus the service is really good. Good to see the 'Specials Board' back again, hope it continues. Great place for a business meeting or social occasion.
The vegetarian special was good and should be on the menu, only negative
bit dry, so it had more sauce would of been perfect.
Young waiter was very polite, friendly and professional, could do with more
like him in restaurants.
Bar area is small and when I have been previously struggle to
get a seat. Needs to be extended.
Another great evening at Hangleton Manor. As always the food was outstanding - regionally sourced produce and local menus and cooked beautifully - and very reasonably priced. Staff were attentive and efficient, friendly and fun, but without being too overt. All in all, a great evening.
We have been to Hangleton Mannor many times and it seems to be getting better! The food is usually of okay standard although when we went on Monday (bank holiday) it was excellent! The vegiterian burger and slaw was very tasty. I ordered a side salad which was a good portion. My partners fish and chips had an amazingly light batter and we were very impressed by the quality of the food cooked. The seasonal crumble was not too sweet. Lovely and tart, with the perfect amout of crumble topping and came with the choice of ice cream, cream or custard. The service was excellent with attentive staff. It was also good value for money! Will definatly be back soon.
Booked at last minute and was very pleased we did. Food was delicious and catered for adult choices as well as a very fussy child!
Staff were fantastic- our server was polite and friendly and spent the time to speak to our children - so they came away feeling special.
We will definitely be going back
A lovely homely feel place to eat, great choices on the menu. I opted for the ceaser salad which was good and filling as I couldnt finish the staff kindly gave me a take away box so I could enjoy the rest later. Lovely puddings and friendly staff. The only critisim would be it is quite datk and with my mother having a visual impairment not the best place for her to get around and she couldnt read the menu as the font was too light.
Or meal was a thank you to a family member so we were keen to ensure that it was an enjoyable family meal for 7 of us. The initial welcome was warm and friendly, as was the service that followed. The food was excellent and we all left the restaurant having had a good time. We will return in the near future.
We started off with a bad table stuck next to the fireplace with an unlit candle. When I explained it was out anniversary we were given a nicer table. This was the right result, I was just left confused as to why we had been given the horrible one to start with!
Fixing the problem made me happy, hence the 5 stars. The food was great and quickly served. The cocktails were good and the price very reasonable.
I would just say - once you have run out of 4 menu items, it might be easier to give customers almost of what they cannot order, as it was hard to remember...
Once again the food was spot on especially the Cherry pie (thank you chef ) the service was very good apart from waiting 15 minutes to pay for the bill which couldn, the be helped as it was very busy. Overall will always return for a good pint of badgers, outstanding food and service. A++++ 10 / 10 to all.
Priyer to our previous bookings the service was very very slow but this is our 4th visit and it was outstanding. I treated my wife to Sunday lunch and we had 3 courses. The food was spot on as normal ( well done chef )but the service this time was just right. Have they changed the staff? Our waitress was helpful and perlite and the food arrived at just the right time. We was their 1hour 30 mins weres before it was like 2 and half hours. We will definitely return. Well done to all the staff. A++++ 10 / 10
What's so lovely about being here is the genuinely friendly and helpful staff. I like to feel that a restaurant has gone the extra mile, that special quality treatment. I asked for a nice soft drink and was told about the options with enthusiasm. I asked for more gravy with my Sunday roast and was given it with a smile. The restaurant is also very beautiful, it's such a historically rich pace to spend time. If all the front of house things have been paid such special attention to, it makes you think that to food has also had this special attention - it certainly tastes like it, the roast potatoes are really yummy: crisp and golden on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, the yorkshire puddings are great, and the gravy is real proper gravy. The desserts are also brilliant - I love the mini puds in the glasses - they are all really scrumptious. A delightful and delicious experience, all round.
We went for dinner on a Saturday evening at 7pm. I can't remember being so impressed by a restaurant. Despite the place seeming quite busy, the food came out promptly. Our waitress was lovely, and we never had to wait long for anything. The whitebait I had was the best I've ever had - really fresh, and not covered in batter or oil. All of us were happy with all three courses that we had. The prices also seemed very reasonable to me, although I am used to Cambridge! After a lovely evening, we settled the bill left. Around 10 minutes later, I received a phone call to say that they were worried we had made a mistake with the tip - it turned out that we had misread the bill, and given a 50% tip! We were very impressed with their honesty!
