The Harwood Arms re-opened in September 2008 after some much needed refurbishment.
This rural haven in the middle of Fulham is a collaboration between Brett Graham of the famed Ledbury restaurant, Mike Robinson of the acclaimed Pot Kiln pub in rural Berkshire and Edwin Vaux from the famous Vaux brewery.
The idea is to provide Londoners with a really relaxed venue for eating the finest British produce, cooked amazingly well, accompanied by excellent beer and wine at a great price.

    We dined here for 8 people, the setting was lovely, definitely nicer and more sophisticated than a typical pub. We didn’t realise that we had booked for the 3 course menu & when we shared that we had didn’t want to order starters we were not informed that in fact we had opted for that menu and therefore would be a paying for both starters and deserts. irrespective. While this wasn’t a huge issue it would have been nice to have been told given the cost of the menu. The food was good but would probably suggest going for an earlier sitting as maybe we had the tail end of the roasts. Thanks

    Limited menù but excellent quality throughout. Lots of deer dishes so that you can have a full deer menù starting with an outstanding grilled tongue. Even beef was very good. Extensive wine list a bit on the pricey side for an Italian ( the wine list presented at the restaurant was different from the one on the web side so that the wine I had chosen ahead was not available) Service informal but attentive. Absolutely to recommend.

    We were looking forward to visit and the people serving were nice. Atmosphere was good. Pubby-a-like. However, the food is absolutely not what to expect from a one star restau/pub. Maybe our expectations were to high, maybe people in the kitchen were sick, but the overall quality was mediocre. During the dinner we double checked if we were at the right one star gastropub. That says enough. Example: Scott egg, decent but lack of flavour. Onion tart was a 1/16th part of a full tart. Nothing wrong at a small pub but not to expect at a one star restaurant. Pate en croute, decent but an average French bistro would do better. Same goes for the onion tart. Beef and short ribs, mweh. Ribs very greasy and fat, heavy taste and too salty. Desert; only the apple was of the level you would expect. Overall; definitely not a one star. Not even close. All too easy, too little a will to go for excellence.

    A great meal! I was in a «hurry» since was going to A game of football after my visit at Harwood Arms, but we food was served quickly, so I didn’t need to rush. The food was excellent. I love to go back.

    We thoroughly enjoy Harwood arms, always consistently good food and service. The Rabbit shoulder Lasagna starter was outstanding and the scotch egg.. never disappoints! Great cocktails too. Nice touch with the birthday card for my husband as we were celebrating it last night. Thank you!

    The staff were attentive and courteous without being overbearing. The food was impeccable and perfectly presented. Good portions. We didn’t have any desserts but they looked delicious. We will definitely be back!

    Excellent food and service. Our party arrived a bit late and the manager could not have been more understanding with the pace of the meal thereafter, absolutely perfect. We had a lovely table in one corner of the restaurant that proved ideal for our puppy guest, who can vouch for the excellence of the pork! Personally I think my piece of monkfish was one of the best fish dishes I ever had and a similar claim could be made for the amazing venison scotch egg nibble.

    Service poor, not at all attentive. Wrong main was brought, then replacement plonked down with no pleasantries at all. Waited ages to be asked for drinks order when we first arrived. Potatoes were hard and dry. At no point during the meal were we asked how the food/drinks were. Payment taken perfunctorily - again were not asked how the meal was. Overall, poor service and were not wowed by the food.

    Atmosphere, taste, hospitality and service, everything in a perfect mix. We've been followed from the beginning to the end with professionalism and attention. Everything was spotless and served with perfect rhythm. We loved it and they made our anniversary special. Can't wait to come back to try their Sunday roast!!!

    Sunday Roast at The Hardwood Arms is a lovely experience. I prefer the roast and accompaniments to be served on a board rather than a pile on my plate. It is visually pleasing. The meats vegetables popover all cooked to perfection! We love the ambience with the game decor. Service impeccable, make you feel at home. We love coming here and will make The Hardwood Arms our Sunday Roast each time we come to London!
