Harwood Arms
This rural haven in the middle of Fulham is a collaboration between Brett Graham of the famed Ledbury restaurant, Mike Robinson of the acclaimed Pot Kiln pub in rural Berkshire and Edwin Vaux from the famous Vaux brewery.
The idea is to provide Londoners with a really relaxed venue for eating the finest British produce, cooked amazingly well, accompanied by excellent beer and wine at a great price.
Outstanding food. Delicious and entirely refreshingly simple. Don't come if you're chasing the standard Michelin starry generic international fare. This is of its locale. Unadorned and genius. Service is equally stellar, unfussy, unobtrusive but perfectly judged and with extra attention and superb touches when called for.
Perfection in a dining experience
We went to Harwood Arms for there Sunday Roast and were not disappointed! Nice calm and easy atmosphere but with great food and impeccable service.
Quite simply, the food was outstanding. Unprepossessing environment, friendly service from "normal" people who did not over-impose. A really strong recommend.
As usual -> top notch.
Casual yet thoughtful service. Delicious food. The Harwood Arms is always a safe bet.
Delicious food, friendly staff and lovely surroundings.
It was a special occasion for us - our engagement meal with our parents and the service was so slow - took 1.5 hrs to get our main meal from sitting down. Spent over £350 with them - not sure I’d be back in a hurry. Disappointed with the service - but the food was great.
Fabulous meal for my boyfriends birthday! The card and extra birthday dessert were a lovely touch, thank you.
Menu is amazingly good and varies everyday. Quality of dishes is very high in a cosy place zero snobby but with a great taste: smart place!
Another excellent lunch. Delightful staff and amazing food. Thank you
The celebrated scotch egg was cold in the centre, there was apparent uncooked meet as it was red and lacked seasoning. But the yolk was soft. Timing of cooking definitely needs reviewing.
We had a lovely main course, mine was halibut and cauliflower 3 ways and my companion had veal.
Menu offers a 3 course meal for £49 which is a bit expensive for a normal occasion, but we went for main for £25 each.
Very good food - delicious and well presented, personable but efficient service and an affordable wine list. Can not recommend it enough.
great place for food. recommend highly to anyone to visit. best place in south east of london
The food was delicious but the service wasn't great and the value for money was poor. Transparency of the prices when not having 3 courses would have been helpful as we were both shocked to see how much one course turned out to be. Also we had to ask to place our order after being seated for 25 minutes and then had to ask three times for extra gravy which finally arrived when we'd nearly finished.
Everything my son and I had was fantastic. The Hob nobs with the pate were inspired and it wasn’t just pate! Had the special veal and the deer and both were excellent. Service was very good and advice on wine solid. Will def be returning.
Fabulous food at The Harwood Arms! The scotch egg is a must-try bar snack. The lamb starter was awesome not least because it was white! The menu contains quite a bit of deer/venison which is fairly unique. The wine selection was perfect - not pages and pages but enough to give you a decent choice. If I was being picky I'd say the deserts weren't great but certainly everything else was. Definitely recommend for a lovely informal night out at a local pub which just happens to have a michelin-star!
Excellent place for Sunday roast! Highly recommended.
Excellent value lunch menu in a lovely bright room.
The food was absolutely delicious. I would have ordered anything on the menu, but the partridge was sublime. The chef also prepared a delicious rhubarb dessert off the menu to cater for a food allergy. I look forward to coming back again.
Incredible
Amazing food and charming service. We had to book an early sitting but there was no hurrying off the table. Took a friend from Japan to eat ‘good’ British food as he was very impressed. Puddings not quite as exciting as the savoury courses but wine was delicious.
Fantastic food, attentive and quick service, good ambiance. Well worth the trip out to Fulham.
Tutto perfetto, consigliato
Food remains exceptional, service always on point. Only negative is that the best part of Harwood Arms used to be the cosiness of the pub with a few sofas and the fireplace roaring. Its a real shame that tables have been added and the cosy element has been lost. Still one of my favourite places to eat in London though!
Birthday dinner
A bit of a trek was rewarded with a most memorable meal. Great mackerel starter, followed by perfectly cooked venison and lamb roasts with classic British sides, roasted veggies, gravy etc. Average desserts, soggy Quince tart and a creamy Creme Brulee. Lovely room, good service.
The best roast and best meal I have ever had! The food was amazing and the service was superb. Worth every penny. They even went out of their way to handwritten a card and give me and my girlfriend a special dessert as I had mentioned when booking we were going for our anniversary.
Excellent service. Delicious seasonal dishes with wine pairing. I recommend the French onion souo as a starter. I had the reindeer as a main which was also delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
An excellent Friday lunch, using the set menu. Everything was really tasty and the wine a good choice. The staff were very helpful and attentive, we shall certain be back when we visit London again.
The food was really delicious and fitted the pub setting very well, however it's clear to see that the techniques and quality of food was above any other pub food. The menu was intriguing and based around something you'd expect to find in the countryside with selections of meat from game hunting. The wine list was extensive if a little over priced, but the wine we have was lovely. The desserts can often be overlooked in restaurants but these were some of the finest we had. Strongly recommended.
I really enjoy the Harwood Arms. It is a v well planned restaurant.
I really like the ambience, food & service. The menu offers so many dishes you want to eat
I had dinner with my mum and sister last Sunday night.
It was my second time at the Harwood and I was impressed again by the excellent service.
The food quality and taste was outstanding.
10th time visiting Harwood arms, this time a not so exciting menu. But as always nice and friendly environment with an extra touch taking care of my husbands birthday.
Very good experience as usual, good food, dishes, ingredients and friendly, informal service, the Harwood is one of London’s finest gastro pubs.
One small point is that I’m unconvinced by fixed pricing for 2 and 3 courses - it doesn’t work if one course is all you want...
Great lunch had at harwood arms. Amazing food and service
Food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Certainly recommend to friends and family.
Lovely dinner with my wife!
Way overpriced . We had the Sirloin for 2 people and 1 scotch eggs . Was surprised that yeh bill came up to £95 for 2 people without any alcohol or drinks
Amazing value. One of two of the best meals of a recent 4 day London visit which was packed with great restaurants.
We read online good things about the Harwood. It was two tube rides and 40 minutes to get to but it was worth it! Kind - they were so incredibly kind as my husband and son arrived 35 minutes before my daughter and I - yes, we ladies were late. This after we had to reschedule from dinner to lunch due to a theater engagement. We were able to text them our order so that it could be placed before the kitchen closed. Having said that, they waited until we were all seated and with a drink before apps were brought out in a relaxed fashion. The food was perfectly cooked, beautifully plated and was delicious but never fussy or pretentious. The decor was relaxing with kind of whitewashed walls and several mounted animal heads. It was bright and cheerful on a cloudy day. We so enjoyed the experience and felt that the cost was appropriate. We'll plan to include this on next trip to London, hopefully soon!
inconsistent food. undersalted at times. the baked goods were very good but again under seasoned.
