Great food, service, and ambiance.
Havana NY is my new favorite NYC Latin restaurant, food and service is fantastic!
I have said this before, do not understand why they give you so little wine in a glass. They should drill it at least half of the glass. The fact I use to go there regularly and left my comment about the and nothing has been done I went with my sister and she said the same thing. Also good customer service is to give you a glass of wine on the house. I think that will make people come back.
The ambience and service was excellent! The food however was not good enough to want to return. I ordered the eggplant which I was so looking forward to, but it was so greasy that it was inedible. The white rice, beans and Maduros were served barely warm and the rice was not fresh. On the other side, their tres leche dessert was fabulous.
We had a group of 6 and had a great time. The restaurant wasn't loud and we were able to all hear each other. It's a great midtown find!
Good service, good drinks and food.
Would go again
Excellent food and service. Pricey but truly worth it. Havana was truly memorable.
Feel like every dish is like Tapas. Feels hungry after a $30 menu item.
I feel as a regular that has been there several times, when being served more than 2 glasses of wine - most places that know me give me one on the house from them. Havana NY has never done this and I think this is poor customer service. I think you would have more people coming back if after the 2nd glass of wine - the 3rd is on you.
Havana definitely upgraded the menu. A great assortment with something for everyone. The food is fresh and plentiful. Not too spicy. The service is energetic and friendly.
The only thing I would change is the happy hour structure. To say that Chardonnay is not included, but Sauv Blanc is included is ridiculous. It makes the happy hour sleazy and bordering on unethical. I had two Chardonnays and they charged me full price - won't make that mistake again.
Service was good, but food was mediocre at best and overpriced. For the amount they charge, should have been much better. I wouldn’t have minded paying $80 a head for good food and service.
great restaurant with fantastic food. Love it!! I would highly recommend.
Food and service were decent but you can find better food for the value at other Cuban places. Drinks were small and watered down for $16 a piece. $200 for dinner for 2 left feeling very unsatisfied.
Exceeded our expectations. Warm, friendly restaurant with interesting and delicious food, attentive but not annoying service, loved the background Latin music. We’ll be back
I was looking for a place on a Friday night that wasn’t loud and crazy, and that can be hard to do in midtown. Havana is a small-ish intimate space, with good food and excellent service. I look forward to coming back.
The solace was amazing the food was incredible and the service 110% very friendly will be coming back again soon and highly recommend it.
I really liked this restaurant and so did the other 7 people in my party. We sat upstairs which was quieter and more private (perfect for us). I really enjoyed the fish of the day, it was cooked perfectly. Appetizers and drinks were great too, we will be back !!
Food and service were excellent
Went to celebrate a birthday and Oscar our waiter was excellent. The food was good the drinks 2, the ONLY thing is I would have liked my food a little hotter . I would visit again.
Absolutely delicious spicy mango margaritas ! Ropa viejo , skirt steak - and even the rice and beans ... all outstanding . Everyone else’s dishes around us all fantastic . Was in my work neighborhood and I guess I took for granted and never tried it — wow was I surprised and for sure will return !
The food was delicious and service was excellent. Would definitely go back again :)
The food was incredible, I will definitely go back again.
I felt we were taken for granted as a customer. The result was below average service with mediocre food.
Drinks were unique and very good, food was great as well.
We showed up for our reservation and the restaurant was closed for a private party. The doors were locked and there were signs saying that they were closed due to a private party, but we never received any type of notification. It was a mad scramble to try to find somewhere else to eat before a 7 o’clock Broadway show. It was incredibly disappointing!
Hello Reviewer, Sorry for your disappointment. We were not closed on December 23rd but certainly closed on December 24th & 25th. We have 2 floors at Havana NY and our private parties are usually on the 2nd floor. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday (except for Public Holidays). Perhaps you have us confused with another business? We are located at 58 West 38th Street between 6th and 5th Avenues.
I live in South Florida and the food at Havana NY is better than the Cuban restaurants in Miami! Truly wonderful.
We appreciate your kind review and look forward to your next visit.
Food was Amazing. Service was quick and getting a table was quick. Ambiance was the perfect touch
Not a bad neighborhood option in the garment district. Crowded, which is good, but meant we had to sit at a table that was not ideal. Other than that, great.
Service was friendly but a little slow. Drinks were delicious but pricey! Food was above average! You will not be disappointed!
Perfect night out with friends
noisy place. cramped, tables are so close they have to move them out so you can sit. water was spilled on my wife and sauce was dropped and splattered all over my pants and jacket! nothing but a sorry and shrugged off! Food over priced for what you get. Pitcher of sangria 65.00 Wow!
Service was great, food was fantastic.
We went for brunch. For $42 you get voice if entree, two cocktails and coffee or juice!
We had a 5:30 reservation but due to the rain we got there 30 minutes earlier and they were very pleasant and sat us early. Our waiter Joel was knowledgeable and pleasant. The service was amazing. My glass wouldn't get a quarter empty before it was refilled with water. And the food was superb. With big portions and great flavor. Our cocktails were equally stupendous.
Hands down the most delicious ropa vieja I've ever had. It was savory and seasoned to perfection. Even the tostones and accompanying sauce were amazing. My friend enjoyed her rice with shrimp, as well. We kept looking at the plates at neighboring tables and saying how good their food looked, as well. Beautifully decorated for the holidays, great music and cozy vibe. I would highly recommend it for a date or getting together with a few friends. I didn't give 5 stars only because the dessert selection was small (flan, tres leches and churros). Otherwise, an excellent option if you're in the city and looking for delicious Cuban food!
Food was great, we enjoyed the shareable dishes.
However, one of two of our waiters was rude to my wife. He was rude in our opinion because when we asked about portion size of the dishes (we were trying to decide between shareable and personal meals) he got really sarcastic and short with us. He also would not give us anytime to look at the menu.
The seating for the two people section was way too close, I couldn’t even hear my wife who was sitting directly in front of me. I get maximizing space in New York so not sure what could be done.
Service was great, waiter was friendly, attentive, and great humorous personality. We had the arroz con pollo y chorizo (excellent dish, loaded with meat and flavor), rice and shrimp, and ropa vieja (super tender and flavorful). The sangria and cucumber al fuego drinks were great as well. The restaurant was also very clean, including the restrooms. Cost was about $45 pp including 20% tip.
Wonderful staff and menu. Being Cuban, I'm particular and critical about Cuban food. This place does not disappoint. Everything was marked appropriately for allergens which made ordering sooo easy. The drinks were incredible. All portions are large enough to share. Great ambiance. Will definitely visit again.
After reading reviews & making a booking I was excited to choose this restaurant to start of birthday celebrations in New York.
Whilst the welcome, starters & ambience was okay, the main did disappoint, lacking in flavour & spice, not what you would expect from a fine dining Mexican experience.
Maybe we caught the kitchen on a bad day but definitely a 5/5 score, the bill was over €110 for 2 (including 1 drink each) not the best !!
Was not good wont be returning
