Very busy venue but once at table looked after well and good Sunday roast as always.
My girlfriend and I had an early supper here on Saturday prior to our theatre booking. Started with a cocktail, then a bottle of Elvio Cogno, 'Bricco dei merli' Barbera d'Alba , 2015 to accompany the utterly sumptuous Chateaubriand. I'd really recommend the Beef Carpaccio to start as it is seasoned with roasted mushroom ketchup. Sounds odd, but it really gives a depth previously untasted when ordering this dish in other restaurants. Also, a really pleasant and knowledgeable staff made the whole experience a positive precursor to a night out in London.
First time at this particular Hawksmoor, great environment and friendly helpful staff, food was delicious however the wait was ridiculous, over an hour for steak n chips.
3 courses. 45 minutes between each course. Too long. Ruined our dinner.
Best steak in London but definitely prefer the Seven Dials branch.
Air Street is amazing - still continues to surprise me. Excellent meal. Everything about the evening was just perfect, could not fault it.
Excellent steaks. Nice bar and large restaurant in interesting and comfortable Art Deco style. Service was great. Main criticism is the high volume: this is a loud restaurant, rather like the other sites I have been to, and probably would not return because of that.
It's pricey but you can't fault the food or the wine. I ventured out and had the grilled monk fish which was divine - so it's not all steak. My friends all had steak which they loved. The service was outstanding, and the wine lovely. It's a lively place so can be a bit "shouty" but if you are up for a fun night, all good.
Hadn’t been for a couple of years due to working away and I must say the service and quality of food was as excellent as I’d remembered.
Throughly enjoyed our meal
Well done !
Great atmosphere. Steak a little overcooked and not particularly tender, service was also a touch slow with quite a long for food to arrive. However, overall a good experience
Very popular and busy so service was a bit slow but steaks and fish were basically perfect
Service was exceptional and food was delicious. Best steak in London, in my opinion!
Looked forward to visiting hawksmoor after recommendation from friends however for us the room was very large and extremely loud. Service was just ok and food nothing out of the ordinary wouldn’t return as not great value for money
Excellent meal - top marks Hawksmoor! The steak was just brilliant and the service was spot on.
Strangely I much preferred the prime rib vs the chateaubriand - unusual! Great food.
Amazing meal and service
Great experience and good food but no more roast dinners left on a sunday afternoon which was a shame
We had Sunday Lunch there recently and it was fantastic! Not the cheapest but certainly worth the outlaw. The staff are attentive without being overbearing and the atmosphere is relaxed.
Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant pure and simple, but very good steaks, so your not going to get haute cuisine or any fusion or innovative leading edge dishes. You can get a Sunday roast but again, its focus is on meat.
Reasonable selection of old favourites for starters and puddings but again nothing leading edge.
If your after a good steak meal, you won't be disappointed, but it is on the expensive side.
It was my boyfriend’s birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make it an absolutely wonderful evening. You just can’t fault the food and service
Dining at Hawksmoor is one of the finer things in life, sumptuous food in opulent but non-pretentious surroundings, with staff who are attentive and friendly at all times.
Overall the food was nice but not very good value for money as the portions were small. The wine was very overpriced and the waiters try and sell you the most expensive bottle. Our bill was totally wrong and they tried to charge ya for multiple things we hadn’t ordered. All in all it was an average meal and we won’t be going back.
Excellent service with knowledgeable waiter. Food delicious.
The lunchtime set menu is amazing value. Staff are always great .
nice menu with a focus on beef. delicious; nice bar and very good wine menue.
Took some international clients for dinner, as always the food was excellent as was the alcohol, on this occasion, the waiter was a bit shirty, but the other staff on point as always, clients gave us additional work, so it certainly did it's job.
The food was very good but we could have had much better service.
Two members of our group ordered fillet steak. Both steaks were tough, very undercooked and tasteless. Another member of our group ordered a Sunday roast, which was burnt and served with overcooked potatoes. I was extremely disappointed that a renowned steak house appeared to be incapable of serving enjoyable beef. The standard at Hawksmoor appears to be slipping considerably and I will not be dining there again any time soon. The only redeeming factor in this experience was the service. The staff at Hawksmoor are faultless. Goodman remains, in my view, the best steak house in London. I will be advising family, friends and colleagues to avoid Hawksmoor.
Good food in nice surroundings but sadly there was no customer service at from the front door to the waiting staff the service was terrible.
service was good, though i had to get attention to order more drinks. i have been meaning to go for Sunday lunch for a long time now and was super excited. unfortunately i was very disappointed by this. the star of the dish was the beef, that was perfect. but the Yorkshire pudding which is my most favourite thing in the world was burnt. was like a hollow crispy very dark brown thing. everyone around me seemed to have the same appearance, not sure what had happened. i dint complain as i was out with my friend and to celebrate pre bday meal. however i will not be every coming back for Sunday lunch here. nor would i recommend this to my friends or colleague. i felt very disappointed that they served this dish to everyone when it was fully obvious it was burnt and to me that does not scream quality service but a churn. restaurant was super busy, so im sure they were not concerned. service was very nice when we did have someone come over.
We went for my mother’s birthday and we all had a fantastic time, the food was unbelievable and I could not recommend this restaurant enough!
A real shame, the food was ok but I’ve had better food and considering they’re charging a lot for steak I expected better. The drinks were a rip off and the restaurant felt like a canteen. The only reason they didn’t get a 1 was because of the service the was brilliant.
I had the sirloin steak (46 day hung) which was absolutely delicious. The langoustine scampi for starter was also really good. My wife had the scallops followed by lobster and she was very pleased also. The service was very good. All in all this was an excellent evening out.
I was recommended by a friend to try their T-bone steak.
- Great location, 5 mins walk from the tube station
- Quick, 15mins for side dishes, 30mins for the steak
- Normal steak: I have tried a much better steak for the same price
- Normal atmosphere: A normal setting that would be expected at most restaurants, in fact ceiling is relatively low and furniture is slightly old
- Nothing unusual and no surprises either
Amazing service again
Thank you for a lovely meal on Thursday night. The food was delicious, the steaks mouthwatering and the waiter was more than accommodating as we tried to identify the right wine to go with the meal.
All in all, a lovely evening that was enjoyed by all.
Thanks for looking after us!
The noise on Thursday evening was horrific. No one at our table could hear each other and we ended up shouting just so we could speak. The waitress in the bar came up to tell us our table was ready. We said we’d have our drinks in the bar and then go. Less than 5 mins later she was back asking us again. After we reminded her, we weren’t moving until after our drink she claimed she’d forgoten. It felt pushy & like we were already on a clock in terms of table time. Food was fine, but 1kg fillet wasn’t as special as I had hoped. I fear this is my last visit to Hawksmoor Air st.
Love the hawksmoor great steak and cocktails !!
Very attentive service lovely staff
