Hawksmoor Air Street
For tables of 6 or more please call the restaurant directly.
The hake on the set lunch menu is terrific. And the rhubarb sorbet.
I dare say one fine day I might tire of Hawksmoor, but 13 years on it's not showing any signs of losing its focus.
Food and service was excellent as always. Tentative waiters and waitresses.
The welcoming was very average as usual. The hosts at the door really do need some training or monitoring. Not the first time they have been under par compared to the service staff upstairs
My first Hawksmoor experience upon the recommendation of my friends who love it. The Sunday roast was nice but sadly I found the meat incredibly chewy therefore I didn’t really eat it. The rest of the food was yummy however and I really enjoyed the dessert with the rare chocolate. Delish!
We have been many times and love it at the restaurant. We took a friend there on Sunday who was over from America first time every having a traditional Sunday roast. The food was not really hot so for me it was a disappointment, we didn’t say anything to our server as we had a guest with us. If it had just been myself and my husband I would have complained, as it was not up to your normal standard.
Great lunch for my mum's birthday. The staff are amazing and the roast is amazing!
We have always enjoyed dining at Hawksmoor and we were not let down! George who looked after us could not have done anymore to make it an enjoyable evening. He is an asset to the organization.
We enjoyed a lovely meal where me and my partner shared a Chateaubriand, some sides, bottle of wine and dessert. It was a lot of food and all tastes very nice, but came to £100 which seemed high considering we didn't even get starter.
The service was good, our waitress was very sweet and tended to all our needs. We never had to wait to get served or for our orders to arrive.
However the dining room is very big and it feels like they've tried to stick as many tables as possible in there to max profits but which causes the dining experience to feel loud and stressed.
Atrocious visit to Hawksmoor, Air Street on Saturday 14 March at 3pm.
Supposed to be my birthday treat from my girlfriend and because I'd never had a Chateaubriand thought I'd splash out for what I'd been told was supposed to be the best steak. It was not.
The very first cut into the steak was extremely difficult. However, I persevered and after much cutting and with some considerable force attempted to have my first bite. I then found I had to chew and chew and chew and ultimately removed it from my mouth as it was simply too chewy / gristley. I then saw that what I'd been chewing was indeed a big lump of gristle and looked at the rest of the steak and saw that it had a Big vein of gristle running through it.
After approx. 10 minutes of failing to get the waitress's attention, I told her about the gristle and she apologised and said that another would be made in replacement for me. She also asked if we wanted my girlfriend's Royal Bream to be taken so we could both eat together, but since she was now over half way through I suggested that she finish. After a further 15 minutes a "new" steak was delivered to my table. It looked okay from the outside and indeed the first few bites were okay. But when I then got about a third of the way through, this one too had gristle.
At that point I thought it was simply the same steak, re cooked! I called the waitress over again and showed her again and was told it was a new steak.
The bill came for ~£95 and was told that we hadn't been charged for the Chateaubriand.
Having now had time to think about this and telling a friend who works in a restaurant, who said we shouldn't have been charged at all, I'm actually extremely disappointed at our treatment.
I've been to various Hawskmoors and this has to be the worst experience I've ever had, especially considering that its supposed to be known for its quality.
I would've hoped for better quality control, especially by the chef.
Wrote to, but no response from Hawksmoor!
Always a great place to be, but was disappointed that you did not have Fillet or that lovely chocolate dessert with brown butter ice cream
very good food, we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening
Was taken here for my birthday. Excellent service and superb food. I have always liked the the original Art Deco style of the restaurant which adds to the ambience.
Great steak and very accommodating with the change of triple cooked chips. The salad alternative was delicious as was the starter of beetroot salad.
Unreasonably expensive for the quality of food and service offered.
Same as usual very well I like very much I will come back
Excellent service, lovely restaurant and the fish dishes and sides were superb!
Really lovely birthday meal. We felt very well looked after and the food was delicious.
The only downsides were that the food took quite a while to come out and it wasn’t all cooked as ordered (took 40 minutes then one plate had to go back flor further cooking). This was slightly frustrating, when we ordered off the Express Menu in order to go to make the theatre.
Love the food , best steak around. Love the Yorkshire pudding starter. The peanut shortbread was amazing.
Very nice and elegant place. Hidden and found by recommendation. Very ambitious service. Only the Steaks ard getting too fast cold. Otherwise a fantastic Dinner and evening
Only the reception staff at the entrance let them down with an abrupt ‘I don’t want to be here’ attitude instead of a warm and friendly welcome I would expect. Everything else was perfect. Amazing food. Fabulous table. Great waiting service. A little expensive but typical for a well know quality steak house.
We were taken to our table which was lovely, our waiter asked if we wanted water we declined, ordered our drinks , 2 glasses of wine one red one white, a bottle of each arrived along with water!
We order scallops to share and a cocktail appetiser
Scallops arrived cocktail didn’t we waited but it didn’t show
Our mains were absolutely fantastic as too the desert
We just felt the waiter didn’t listen to anything we just ordered apart from that it was really lovely
Lovely surroundings- fabulous food cooked to perfection- ideally situated for theatre land -
Good value lunch menu. Excellent glass of Muscadet. Staff always friendly. But coffee terrible again.
Excellent Sunday roast but we waited over an hour for the food. This was not acknowledged at all by the staff.
The roast was exceptional! Service very good as usual!
An absolutely outstanding roast on a Sunday - my favourite in London. We had the scallops to start, which were delicious, and then the roast beef was cooked perfectly.
Could not recommend Hawksmoor enough on a Sunday!
Nice roast, friendly waiter.
Best Sunday lunch roast beef outside of home I've had! Lovely service too.
Upon arriving in London on Sunday, we went with the traditional Sunday Roast option, and it was delightful. Everything was full of flavor, and we would definitely go back.
Brilliant experience- great value for money. The best Sunday lunch in the capital.
Delightful as always! Sunday Roast is divine.
The Sunday lunch here is amazing, one of the best in London! Portions are huge and the food is delicious, partnered with friendly, attentive service.
Delicious food and fantastic service. Staff outstanding
The Sunday roast was nice, however, for the price the serving of meat could have been more generous. The quality and ambience was very nice.
One thing that was disappointing was paying £3.25 for a 200 ml bottle of Coke. It was barely enough to fill half a glass without ice.
Everything about our visit to this Hawksmoor was perfect from cocktails at the bar to dinner, wine and dessert. The STP remains the best in London....
The food at hawksmoor continues to be outstanding. The steaks are the best in the city (and I have tried many different restaurants!) and complemented perfectly with a delicious range of sides. In particular, the creamed spinach, mac & cheese and field mushrooms are very tasty. Despite feeling very full we did manage a desert, the peanut butter shortbread, and it too was fantastic. I always recommend hawksmoor to anyone wishing for a nice meal with great food, an extensive wine and cocktail menu and a relaxed, smart/casual ambience.
It's a special treat for us going to Hawksmoor Air Street, and we are never disappointed. Every aspect of the restaurant experience is top-notch. I cannot think of a way to improve this restaurant in terms of going out for a celebratory meal. It's the best steak restaurant in London, if not the world.
Steaks are very good but think it is a bit pricey for what it is.
Delicious food, great service and very friendly and welcoming staff.
Very welcoming. We waited at the bar for some friends, nice and relaxing. Went to the table, services was great and the food even better. My wife order a main and forgot to tell them she doesn’t like garlic, when the main came it was cooked in garlic, when she explained it was changed no question asked and they replace her side dishes. Great atmosphere and ambiance. Would highly recommend.
Was quite disappointed with the food to be honest
