Hawksmoor Air Street is a 235 cover seafood and steak restaurant, with the menu equally divided between fish, seafood and the legendary steaks which have made Hawksmoor a firm Londoners' favourite. Ten floor to ceiling stained glass arched windows will form the main feature of the interior, flooding the space with light and allowing for views over Regent Street. Our new bar menu is now available and you can book a table over the phone on 0207 406 3981. Dishes include Langoustine scampi, Ox cheek & roasted bone marrow and house pickles and Bacon Double Cheeseburger. But you don’t need to eat to come to Air Street bar. A stone’s throw from Piccadilly Circus, it’s a perfect spot for some drinks pre or post other West End fun.

We had a Sunday lunch, however they had run out of beef - as a replacement we had a rump steak with all the trimmings of a Sunday lunch & it was delicious. Every element was cooked very well and our steaks were cooked to temperature perfectly. Our server was very polite but seemed nervous and jittery.

The ambiance was excellent and the music was nice but didn't mean we had to speak any louder than usual.

I would 100% recommend the Hawksmoor as the food was fantastic as is the venue.

Great place to eat if you like meat and fish - purpose of my visit was to have a Sunday Roast so can only comment on the beef - which came pink in the middle. There is a well-done option if you prefer your meat that way.

3 good slices of meat with accompanying vegetables and a monumental Yorkshire Pudding. Bone marrow gravy in a separate jug, with a decent (large) dish of "proper" (hot) horseradish sauce. English mustard and other condiments available by separate negotiation

Beef was tasty (ie it tasted of beef, not just a textural slab of "mystery meat") and melt in mouth tender. vegetables well cooked: expect crispy roast potatoes, no-frills (lateral cut) carrots and buttered greens.

If anything, the spuds were a little too crispy on the outside for my liking - but the insides yielded to the application of the wonderful gravy.

The carrots reminded me of an "old school" school dinners - cut from big roots in broad "rustic" slices - no julienne here...perfectly cooked though and a lot of them. If you like lots of perfectly cooked carroty coins - this is the place for you.

The greens (presumably the butter English greens from the Sides Menu) were a little disappointing - less is more, but at Hawksmoor, more was more as you get quite a lot of leaves. Eat your Greens!

The plate will be embellished with half a roasted shallot and half a head of roasted garlic. Sadly my dining companion got the bigger half...

Vast wine selection divided up into neat sections Wine, Reserve and Fine etc to aid your choice - a couple of bottles [Red] <£30, several by the glass

I really liked the experience here, relaxed atmosphere and great food.

Staff made you feel welcome rather than an inconvenience. Food was delivered in a timely manner - by which it was still hot when it was brought out to the table. Not too close to our fellow diners and overall conversation friendly ambiance on a busy Sunday service. Music was very much background

Felt that for the prices charged the food atmosphere and service was below average and then proceeded to add a £25 service charge ( which we didn’t pay) wouldn’t revisit

For a steak restaurant I expect them to be capable of cooking and serving 3 steaks to 3 people correctly. I do not expect to have to swap plates across the table to receive the steak I ordered. I also expect the toilets to be functional! I don’t object to paying the price if everything is perfect, but £71 for a fillet steak, 3 field mushrooms, a third of a bottle of Malbec (bottle price £46) and a latte is over the top when the factors mentioned above leave a taste of disappointment rather than satisfaction.

A mixed experience. Ordered the express menu, but then waited 25 minutes for a drink. So ended up drinking cocktails with steak, not the end of the world, but not ideal. Ordered some red wine and this turned up near the end of our meal. Loads of staff, so couldn't really work out why this should have happened. Food was OK - rump and chips were cooked to order, served with a tiny bit of watercress, and the dessert we tried (apple pie) was excellent. A bill of £120 for one course, one pudding, two glasses of wine and two cocktails isn't exactly high value, so poor service (automatically added to the bill) meant that overall we wouldn't rush back.

This is my favourite branch of Hawksmoor for the stunning Art Deco detailing. The steaks on my last visit were as sensational as always, as were our other courses. I had bought two friends as guests for a treat and they both commented that these were the best steaks they had had at a restaurant.

Absolutely fabulous service. The wait staff gave us suggestions and explained everything to us thoroughly. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking to cross Hawksmoor off their “Great steak chase”. By far one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Overall, the experience was a good one. The quality of the food was tasty and well presented. The space itself is lovely. We took family who were visiting London for the first time. Unfortunately, we felt service was less than expected as our order was forgotten or wrong throughout the meal with poor explanations given to questions asked. We’ve been to Hawksmoor previously and loved it so this was disappointing.

Early pre-theatre ‘express menu’. Service in the bar while we waited for our table wasn’t great - the waitress insisted on finding my name on the bookings list before taking our drinks order (which took ages - apparently my fault for having a double barrelled name!) Great non-alcoholic ginger beer though.

Service when seated was excellent. Great Caesar salad and fantastic chips. My rump steak was served perfectly medium rare, as requested, but my husband’s was way over - medium bordering on well done. Our waiter agreed and quickly changed it whilst we shared my steak, which we appreciated. Of course these things happen but in a steak focused restaurant it isn’t ideal and it left us with no time to order deserts.

Decent value given the quality of the produce, (most of) the cooking and service in the restaurant. It’s worth pointing out that the pre/post theatre express menus aren’t a bargain (not that they claim to be). You’ll
get the same dishes for almost the same price if you order from the a la carte menu (bearing in mind that the steak on the express menu isn’t exactly large.

So - not quite up to the standards of the Spitalfields branch but a very enjoyable dinner non the less. Thank you!

As part of the hospitality industry myself, quality service and food sit at the forefront of my dining experience! My waitress was knowledgeable with an incontestable charm, anticipating our needs and being there even when service was not busy. Will definitely recommend it over and over again as it’s always been consistent which is what we are expecting!
Thank you to everyone, including the hard working chefs, who work excruciating hours for the high of service! Andrei

Although greeted cheerily upon arrival we seemed to be a burden to some of the staff when we got upstairs. We’d asked to be booked into the bar so we could have both the bar & a-la carte menu but when I tried ordering the burger I was told it wasn’t possible but when I asked for this to be double checked I was begrudgingly told it was ok but I’d have to pay for the chips as that was how it was! The steak my wife had was ok but slightly over but although I was told the burger I ordered would be well done it was actually burnt & quite acrid to taste. There were other things slightly wrong which all seemed to be on my order so I was happy to be rushed out of there as I had enough by then.
