Superb in every respect.
My favourite Hawksmoor
Good service, friendly and efficient without any table hovering. Our Rib eye and fillet steak was beautiful if a little too over cooked for rare....still was delicious though. Only complaint it they had run out of their triple cooked thick cut chips as featured on the menu. It’s was 7pm on a Tuesday night and had run our(!)...very weird and very annoying. They did offer fries for free but just not the same. Must try harder Hawksmoor.
Excellent food, excellent service, one of the best experiences ever in any restaurant.
Excellent, if somewhat overpriced grub, served up by slightly disinterested staff. Still kicking myself for not having a Shaky Pete to get the evening started...
Good value restaurant, excellent food and customer service
We had the roast dinner and was absolutely delicious! Maybe a bit pricey, and could have done with a couple more roast potato's but highly recommend.
Our waitress was lovely and very helpful assisting with dietary requirements.
We do Sunday Roast a Hawksmoor whenever we’re in London. The cocktails are innovative, fun, and always so delicious. And there’s not a place we’ve tried that does a traditional Sunday beef roast as well as Hawksmoor. The beef, of course, roasted to perfection, sliced thick, with a lovely rim of tasty fat to make it rich and succulent. The duck-fat roasted potatoes are a marvel of crunchy shells surrounding buttery soft insides. And my absolute favorites, the giant Yorkshire Pud, light and crisp, perfect for sopping up that silky, beefy bone marrow gravy. Not a better British meal for a lovely Sunday afternoon!
Enjoyed excellent Sunday roast with my family. Highly recommended.
Poor food, nice waiter and average surroundings
This is one of those restaurants that offers a lot, but has a single negative that will keep me from dining here again unless there is a positive improvement. That factor - NOISE! The dining area is quite large - consisting of several open connected areas, but with low ceiling. The effect is that you hear a roar of conversation from several hundred diners making it very difficult to carry on a quiet conversation at a table for two. This cause everyone to speak louder in order to be heard, which only increases the noise level. I would liken it to dining outside next to the runways of Heathrow. Otherwise, the service was great and the food was very delicious.
The food itself was amazing, we both had the steak and it’s probably the best place in london to eat steak. However due to its reputation and it’s prices, I expected it to be quite a dressy/glam place. It was very dated and old fashioned, I could have probably worn jeans and a top so it’s not really a place to get dressed up to. There was a table nearby that was extremely loud but we didn’t complain about it in the end. The staff were polite but as mentioned before, wasn’t as dressed up as I thought they should be. It needs to either be a top market restaurant where you get dressed up to go for that special occasion or just another steak house such as miller and carter.
Wir empfehlen die big cuts.
I had a great dover sole, but my family tell me that the steaks are delicious.
I'm always looking out for good lunchtime deals and the fact that you can get 3 courses plus champagne for £35 is a bargain. They don't charge a supplement for the Rump Steak and it was a proper sized portion too. It's maybe not 100% refined but some really lovely flavours and proper puds too
Lovely place and excellent food especially the steak and also the scampi.
Good food but really slow to come. Over an hour for main courses. Staff member gave us a complimentary drink which was great but if going be prepared to wait.
Also insisted on us waiting in bar before going to table. Tables around us were brought in when they didn’t order drinks but we were left as we ordered. Once in restaurant clearly this was a sales tactic as restaurant was just over half full
Steaks weren't very good. Not a good experience considering what you pay. Staff were friendly but over all disappointing steaks and ambiance .
Our first time, we’ll be back but quality and cooking of both steaks disappointing. Everything else was great.
Ace. Top. Great.
Service was good, however the food was disappointing. I ordered a Rib eye steak and it arrived on a completely bare plate , no garnish just fries on the side.
Having just returned from France and Italy I have enjoyed meals at half the cost which were served with style and also looked the part.
We enjoyed the set lunch and the whole experience overall and both agree we would return. Service felt a little stretched at times
I just love Hawksmoor. The food the drink the service. Air st is my favourite.
Overall the value for money was very average. Service was average, as was the food.
Wouldn't recommend given the high cost. High cost with great service and food is completely acceptable, but this fell below par.
Excellent food, drink and service. The new summer lunch menu and lunch specials were exceptional. Highly recommended.
I have been to other Howksmoors but first time in Air Street. Excellent location and fantastic setting. Food specially the new Matt special lunch was great. We will be back soon.
Went for a quick lunch on a work day; the new menu was just perfect for that.
The service was great and food was bought out promptly. The food was fantastic value for money.
When I go at the weekend there are other dishes I would order - but for a Monday lunch this was everything I could have wanted.
Food was disappointing especially the rump steak, it lacked flavour and was served cold most of it was not edible due to the amount of gristle. Starters and drinks were average.
Perfect lunch menu. Service just right and quality product as usual.
Really delicious starter with gravy, Yorkshire puddings and potted beef. The chips are the best in the business and the rump was not tough with a delightful chargrilled flavour.
I added a cheese based hollandaise which was distinctive and added even more flavour.
Very attentive and helpful staff who really know their stuff.
Will definitely be back.
Steak was chewy and the sides were average at best.
Been to hawksmoor several times before so this was a shame, probably won’t be going back.
Service was bad and slow but they made up for it, which is fair.
The front of house team are amazing and could not do enough to ensure a good experience, going over and above to be pleasant and helpful. The food was cooked well but was priced at fine dining prices but was not to that standard of detail. My scampi starter was basic and the tartar sauce did not pack enough punch. We all ate fish, two turbots and a monkfish all of which were well cooked but I felt were let down by the presentation. Curiously for me the star of the show was the buttered English greens which were lovely. I had the Stilton for afters and felt yet again that the presentation was lacking as it seemed that the cheese was served in dollops rather than a cohesive portion. I must congratulate them on the wine which was a very reasonably priced but stunning Malbec. Coffee was awful, I love strong coffee and had my usual double expresso but even though I enjoy robust roasts this was bitter and acrid and I was unable to drink it.
The tables were very close together in the room and thus if you were seated as we were, next to a “loud” table then it was difficult to hear each other above the ambient noise.
In summary, this could be an amazing restaurant as the front of house team were impeccable and a real credit and the food was cooked well but just let down by the presentation. Perhaps 5% fewer tables would improve the ambience at busy times.
Make these improvements and I will definitely come back.
Superb beef fillet, excellent quality.
Fantastic!! Can’t wait to return.
Always fantastic food, and the location is lovely- we’d definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys their steak!
Had a super evening with old friends. Will always recommend this venue to my friends and colleagues
Second visit to Hawksmoor Air Street. Fantastic atmosphere though a little noisy in dinning room. Food (fillet steak) excellent.
Service attentive without being intrusive.
Great selection of wines.
Will come again
Food, drinks and service were all excellent.
Amazing meal, beautiful location and such a fabulous staff, warm, friendly and knowledgable. Can’t wait to come back
The Chateaubriand was not to flavorsome and the temperature was fairly ambient. There was not anything special about the food, pretty standard quality whereas one would find in a non-gourmet establishment.
I love the Hawksmoor! That the steaks are delicious goes without saying, but the sides (Mac and cheese, beef dripping fries) are also excellent and the cocktails are interesting and delicious too! Staff are always lovely and genuine. Don't skip dessert, or at least have the Tributes (salted caramel rolos)!
