Me and my friend ordered a 650g T-bone steak for sharing and it was cooked in medium rare. The perfect portion to share for two people and it was a nice steak. We also ordered creamer spinach and broccoli as sides.
We attended on a Tuesday lunchtime so the restaurant was quiet (I have been on a Saturday evening before and its a very different atmosphere). Food was delicious as always, staff were attentive and I even got a happy birthday dessert plate. If you are a steak lover Hawksmoor is a must.
Excellent service - booked for my girlfriends birthday meal and the waitress organised a surprise dessert, the waitress was very attentive and provided all round excellent service
We had a wonderful meal and experience. Staff were exceptionally professional, relaxed and knowledgable about service and the menu. A very enjoyable meal, gorgeous food and exceptional service. Thanks so much!
Fantastic restaurant. Our waiter, Gayden was awesome. Excellent food, great wine list..... can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend the Dover Sole!!
Having been a fan of this restaurant for some time, I have visited both in the evening for a romantic dinner and lunchtime with friends. The atmosphere is always buzzy, the service friendly/casual and welcoming but completely professional. Fabulous wine list with unpretentious, well informed sommelier. This last visit was to celebrate my partner's birthday. We really couldn't decide on the place to eat for lunch, but sought a good dining experience to include champagne, good food, good service and atmosphere, so opted for tried and tested and it did not disappoint. This restuarant caters for my partners love of meat (fabulous steaks) and hearty dishes as well as my desire for well prepared, quality fish and awesome vegetable sides. Not necessarily being a desert eater......who could resist? The icing on the cake was the amazing offer of a £30.00 set meal (which catered as stated) to include 3 courses and a glass of house champagne. Wow! What was more impressive is that we were not rushed or made to feel second rate having chosen this option. Another outstanding experience.
We had an exceptional meal. The steaks were divine and the whole meal was just top notch.
Nice service & venue but we had expected better food given the reputation.
We had t bone steak to share (we had wanted a roast but were advised this is only available until 5pm). The steak was OK, but not reflective of the price.
I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place to friends (to do that I think it would have to be outstanding), I wouldn’t return for a steak but I may try again for a roast at lunchtime.
Absolutely great place! The two of us went for a birthday celebration together - expected the steaks to be good (they definitely were), but thought Hawksmoor might be a tad stuffy/old school service. But that wasn’t the case at all - literally every staff member was lovely and very helpful, from cocktails to food to wine selection to generally making us feel welcome. Cocktails were well priced and well made (highly recommend the ginger one), food was excellent and bringing out the puddings with happy birthday written on both in chocolate & candles was a really nice touch.
Highly recommend - especially the good value summer menu.
Decent enough although service is a bit too English
It was our first visit to Hawksmoor Air street and we did appreciate our Sunday lunch there ( the Sunday roast in particular) : a typical British experience, exactly what we were expecting as French visitors.
Loved our meal at Hawksmoor Air Street - Excellent steaks, great service and worth a bit of a splurge. Even though it was a very busy Saturday night our food came very quickly after ordering and our waiter was very attentive, explaining all the dishes and how many sides we would need (there are lots to choose from). We were especially fond of the Salted Caramel Rolos and bought an extra box to take away.
Very lovely dinner, there is not a single part of the meal I didn’t enjoy! The salted caramel rolos have given me cravings ever since! The restaurant is rather noisy so not great from romantic dates however the fact that it’s busy is a sign it’s a very good restaurant so I can’t complain too much! Service was also great and our waiter was very lovely.
Brilliant steak and cocktails, well worth the money.
Another exceptional night at Hawksmoor. Although service was a bit off this time, we know it's unusual and out of the norm. The pre-theatre dinner - a first for us - is exceptional value.
We had great food, brilliant service and a very good (and very filling) dining experience! Staff were courteous!
My dates steak fillet was not cooked to meduim so had to ask for another fillet that was my only issue. For this reason I did not give 5 stars as food is important and it took quite a long time to find my waiter to request the bill.
Excellent meal as always - great food and service from Aidan. The beef is organic and sensational; and a great wine list too
Tried the special 3 course deal. Great value for money. The food is fantastic as always and the service is very good.
The only disadvantage is that the restaurant is TOO NOISY and we had to move from the booked table to the bar area.
An excellent meal here as usual. The food never disappoints, and the service was excellent. Always slightly nervous when suggesting a restaurant for friends on their special occasion but the whole party was very enthusiastic about the experience. Possibly a little noisier than was ideal, but we had great fun nonetheless.
Great vesper martinis too.
Hawksmoor is always a good idea. The express menu and BYO wine initiatives are great additions to their offerings, and the service is fantastic!
Hawksmoor was recommended by a friend as 'the best steaks in London'.
Now I've not visited every steak restaurant in town but I do know a good steak when I taste one and the ones here were top quality.
Three of us had excellent starters (the ribs are especially tasty) followed by Sirloin and Rib Eye steaks. The marrow bone gravy is the one to go for if you want to further enhance the flavour of the beef.
The waiting staff were all helpful and knowledgeable and the location is appropriately fitted out but can get quite noisy.
Overall this is somewhere that we will certainly be returning to.
Hawksmoor is my go to steak meal place but this time I was disappointed. We ordered a chateaubriand which is a very expensive cut so expected something wonderful. I’m afraid the the outer part was over cooked - we asked for medium rare.
Not the first time we have been to this restaurant but never disappoints. Friendly staff who go the extra mile and top quality food and drink. Would always recommend.
THE STEAK WAS SUBLIME AS ALWAYS AND COCKTAILS DELICIOUS.ATMOSPHERE BUZZING SO GOOD FOR ALL AGE GROUPS
Had dinner here was best bit of steak Iv eaten very impressed will definately return
First time Expensive and very good, steak and scallops was excellent, no air con is my only critique
Lovely place - Great food and service was very good too. Definitely recommend!
We booked a table for two to celebrate our third anniversary. As meat-eaters Hawksmoor was an obvious choice. On arrival I was a little in doubt due to the casual dress and noise of the place, but the bar staff and restaurant staff are super-friendly and we quickly settled in (albeit perhaps over-dressed?) Our waiter took pains to explain the cuts of meat with illustrations (we asked for it - do you know the difference between a sirloin and a filet?) and then proceeded to bring us our food.
We started with the crab on toast and the smoked mackerel pate - both delicious - and accompanied by the excellent Chablis. The main went a wee bit wrong - ordered a sirloin and a ribeye with heritage tomato salad and spinach lemon and garlic sides + dripping fried chips. We got a sirloin and a fillet, with the other bits but minus the tomato salad. BUT, our brilliant waiter then made sure we ALSO got a ribeye on the house (which we ended taking home) and by then we had forgotten the tomatoes anyway.
The food and the service here are fantastic - will definitely go again.
Hawksmoor lived up to their reputation again with some excellent food and service to match. I especially recommend getting the anchovy hollandaise - it is possibly the best sauce I have *ever* had!
As ever our meal lived up to expectations. Great steak, great sides, lovely wine and great service.
Disappointed. My daughter requested this for her 30th Birthday lunch. Service was poor. Steaks were mediocre and overcooked.
Despite being very quiet, it was hard to attract a waiter, drinks were slow to arrive and no one came to offer menus or take us our table .
Won't be returning and won't recommend.
We went for the summer menu which was very generous, great staff too!
Excellent food, wine and service - as usual.
And in a very convenient location.
Very welcoming great cocktails and food had a most enjoyable evening
Way too good
We went for a celebration and it fitted the bill perfectly. The food was sublime - expensive but the quality was outstanding and worth the extra money - while the drinks, cocktails and service was all amongst the best I've experienced. The steak and fish were superb - the gravy and the chocolate tart were utterly brilliant - and overall, every aspect of the courses and experience was perfect. It is easily one of the very best meals we've ever experienced and the food was unimprovable. A big claim but justified. For two people with drinks the three courses were upwards of £130 but amazingly it was good value for what you received and, also, you book knowing it was going to be slightly pricey. The waiters made the evening, with friendly service, and had 'congratulations' put around my partner's dessert when they found out the meal was a celebration. Not asked for, but a nice touch. Worth travelling for the food, couldn't recommend it highly enough!
attended early evening, lovely fish courses , and desserts were great ! ... nice to see waiting staff casually dressed, but very professional too.
Good steak, good wine, good service. Perfect for a relaxed lunch with good friends.
I’ve been to this restaurant twice before and enjoyed it, hence returning for a third time. The food was poor, a salad that looked like it’d been thrown together in seconds. And the service was painfully slow.
