Good food and service and reasonable value. Restaurant was relatively busy but that did not slow the service.
Thank you. The food, drink, especially the cocktail, the service were wonderful. We ate everything! The only thing to improve would be that it is very noisy making it hard to converse.
The food was great but very heavy (we had the breakfast for 2) but the people there made our day. Treated us very well, gave us tasters of some wines and generally made us feel extremely welcome and were very generous with their time. A* for service. Overall, would definitely go back.
I ordered a medium steak which come up tough and well done. Managed to get the meal off the bill and was told I would get emailed a complimentary dinner for another day due to the poor service but have not heard anything.
So overall was a poor experience especially given how much it costs.
Outstanding meal! The service and the food were impeccable, I would highly recommend the Malteaser bomb for dessert!!
Once again the Hawksmore delivered on food, service and atmosphere. On this occasion we were celebrating a graduation, and asked that the desert be a little more special by having the words 'Congratulations' added to the plate - which it was without having to remind the staff. It's the little things that make the difference and elevate the good to the very good.
Booked up for an early meal before going to the theatre. Opted for the set menu that is excellent value.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant the service is laid back and relaxed but always around and the steaks are top quality.
Really good steaks for me and my guest. Efficient and friendly service.
We came for an extravagant breakfast, and that was exactly what we got. Fantastic!
Meat quality and cooking was exceptional.
After hearing how great Hawksmoor was for a few years I was really excited to try it, the actual restaurant was really open and didn’t have a great ambiance for a date. The deal itself was hit and miss, the gin cocktail and steak and was amazing but the starters were all below average.
Overall I would like to try it again but potentially at a different location.
Really nice breakfast and great service
The only problem with this restaurant is that it gets very noisy .
Asked for medium well and got a medium or even medium rare steak. The steak was also Luke warm. Otherwise the service and the rest of the food was excellent.
Great value summer fixed menu - quick, delicious and loads of food
Terrific food, and great service. An enjoyable evening for all who attended.
Nice venue, set in a basement with wood panels on the wall and wooden flooring.
Although aesthetically pleasing, the noise created by only a few diners is quite deafening - so, its not a place to go on a first date or somewhere where you can actually talk properly.
The bar area when I visited was hardly used and as it was away from the main dining area was significantly quieter.
The food was fantastic (2 fillet steaks and deserts) - just one thing, however, lets it down and is extremely disappointing. They have a full bar, but choose not to have soda fountain drinks. This means that should you wish something non-alcoholic, a 200ml mixer bottle of coke is what has to be bought.
A 200ml bottle is ~ £2.85 - should you wish a pint of coke that would be 3 bottles - or £8.55 with 32ml left over! Nearly £9 for a pint of coke seems a little extravagant and disappoints on what would otherwise be a fantastic meal. It is almost worthwhile paying the Monday corkage charge of £5 to go and buy a bottle of coke from a local supermarket!
We have been to Spitalfields and Seven Dials Hawksmoor restaurants so thought we’d try a different venue. Whilst the meat on offer was at its usual high standards the cooking of the meat was slightly disappointing and all came very rare. It was also missing the fantastic char we had on our previous visits. The venue was also incredibly noisy making conversation difficult on our table of 7 especially with a very drunk table of 4 adjacent. The staff and service were excellent as always.
We had a lovely evening which was made even better by superbly attentive service. Thank you Hawksmoor we look forward to coming back soon.
I took some partners from Germany here last week because they wanted to experience a great British breakfast. It didn't disappoint with my only criticism being that their sausages are a mixture of pork and beef and I'd prefer a traditional pork.
Very good - I'd go again!
Food was good but staff a little slow on the nught
Met an old friend for dinner. Great dining room plenty of elbow room. Outstanding staff and the foot was excellent. We both had a great time and an excellent feed. I will return and soon.
Really lovely meal-steak and all sides were delicious. Scallop starter was great. Very nice and engaging waiting staff. Bit loud and busy, but nice ambience on the whole. Pretty good price compared to other similar restaurants.
Excellent restaurant lovely food great service it would be nice if the restaurant just gave you the deal menu rather than having to ask as they know your their on the special its on your booking apart from that it was great
Loved the roll chocolates! How I'd not managed to to discovered them before on a menu I know so well
Really enjoyed our evening with Hawksmoor. Pleasant, friendly efficient, staff. Food good & good value. A bit noisy but great buzz & people enjoying themselves. Bought the cookery book too which is really interesting & informative.
Staff were very friendly. Had to send the lamb back as it was too salty. Taken off the bill automatically and no questions asked. Porterhouse was so juicy and tender. Sourdough and salted butter was delicious too!
Excellent as always
Great service and amazing food!
We had the 3 course set menu including a drink for £30! We thought it was excellent value for the quality and quantity of food. Will definitely be returning soon!
Food was of the quality you expect from Hawksmoor, but this particular restaurant is far too noisy which really ruined the evening as it was hard to hear any conversation.
We ordered a chateaubriand, 800g between 2, and asked for it medium rare. unfortunately it came up well over medium, taste was ruined. Made the comment to the waiter and to recompense us he took off the coffees..... not impressed and very surprised.
Very Good. It's OpenTable that doesn't work so well.
I have had business lunches here on several occasions. I have found the food and service to be excellent in all respects.
Great food and service but the large room with high ceiling and wood panelling on the walls made it very noisy and it was almost impossible to have a conversation between the 5 of us.
The steak was underwhelming to say the least. If you're not going to serve anything on the plate besides the meat, it should be bigger.. it looked lonely. Also the taste was not very good for a rib-eye. I was expecting a comparable quality to Smith & Wollensky's or Gallagher's in the US. Very disappointed.
Great steak!! A little bit salty on the rub but overall great quality steak. Worth the price.
It was the worst food I have ever had in my whole life
Outstanding food, especially the meats, and service; restaurant was only half full but quite noisy.
Fabulous food and service - just a bit pricey, but not unusual for a London steak restaurant!
A regular at various Hawksmoors. Arrived at six and had the du jour menu which is very reonably priced and covered vegetarian and carnivore. Brought my own wine as it was a Monday so a whole meal for not a lot (YMMV).
Staff very friendly, alert, and quick but not hasty so a relaxed time. Reasonably full by the time we left and some interesting groups to watch.
Food was excellent as always. Seldom surprising and never disappointing, although a combination of strawberry and basil was an interesting surpise. But the Pedro Ximenez is always nice.
Excellent food and service. Thank you
