Great staff, great food. Love this place.
Decent food. Good service. Reasonable price for two course lunch.
Fantastic grub. We brought our own wine but the sommelier, John, was really excellent and informative.
The breakfast was very delicious and copious, the service friendly and expedient.
Server called John was simply amazing. Would go again just for him to look after us.
Great service and delicious meal! Wait staff in very casual attire...all good. Just make sure you don't flag down another customer to serve you.
I was in London on business, doing some sightseeing last Friday, looking for a great breakfast place and this popped up. The picture did not do the restaurant justice. The food was to die for. Will definitely come back next visit and try more of the drinks!!
We were celebrating my husband's birthday and from start to finish they made us feel welcome and made my husband feel extra special. The food was outstanding but the customer service was on point! Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to visit this restaurant again! Thank you!
We had the three course set menu with a cocktail. The cocktail was very nice and summery. I found the starter - potted beef with Yorkshire puddings and gravy - rather strange, but it was a very generous portion and my friend polished off all of his! My fillet steak was more well done than medium, but still tender and the chips were gorgeous! Both the sundaes we had as desserts were also really good. Our only complaint would be the price of wine by the glass, which decided us against having any!
A fantastic meal, great service, highly recommend it.
Service was more than excellent, but place was very (too) noisy and difficult to hear across the table so will definitely have second thoughts of coming again
Food was lovely and service was good.
There was no music playing at all so it felt like I was eating in a church hall. There was no atmosphere at all.
Really limited my enjoyment as I felt the table next to us could hear our every word. They probably felt the same about us.
So having spent over £220 on dinner for 2 I feel like I had a nice steak, but not a great night.
There are many steak restaurants with excellent atmosphere so you really need to work on this.
Brilliant as always
Best Bacon I’ve ever had in my entire life. I’m just gonna leave it at that.
So yummy. Loved the Big Matt and the shortbread. Chips were great.
Tried the new menu which was great - especially the caesars salad.
Quite noisy so not the best for a business lunch where you need to discuss things
Great for a social or easy going business lunch
Delicious lunch menu. Will be back.
Second visit to the Hawksmoor, we were disappointed the first time so thought we’d give it another try.
The food was good but not outstanding for the money. The bill was £230 for four with 1 drink each, no starter or pudding, no complimentary bread or nibbles provided with drinks. We personally prefer Gauchos and Goodmans - we have been to all of their restaurants and they are consistently excellent.
The service is warmer, Hawksmoor just felt more corporate dining experience.
Food was unreal
My favourite breakfast spot. Staff are friendly and engaging, food is amazing and breakfast cocktails are cracking, especially the shakey Pete.
We went for our anniversary. The service in particular was excellent; we were made to feel special. Great night.
The service was excellent and I had the best steak of my life. However the starter and dessert were nothing special, the price for those did not represent value for money. Also the ambience was not reminiscent of an expensive restaurant, it’s very brightly lit and has fairly basic furnishings.
Would recommend for the steak only.
An overall fantastic experience. Unique atmosphere , friendly greeting and top table service. Food speaks for itself. A shared breakfast platter to die for. Will be visiting again next time we’re in town. Thanks to all for a memorable morning
Reasonably good food although obviously limited by the intended scope of the restaurant's offering. Service was OK if a bit laid back.
The main problem is the noise level - even half full it is ear-splitting. Hardly surprising really as there is no attempt at sound attenuation in the furnishings.
We will go again but I cannot give an unqualified recommendation.
Food was excellent but service was patchy and we were squeezed into the corner of the restaurant even though it was virtually empty
Very nice food and wine but surprisingly poor service - drinks took a while to come, side orders were forgotten about and delayed and steaks were muddled (rare was given to medium cooked etc).
Pricey but best steak in London
This is a very traditional city restaurant, very masculine in décor and the diners were 80% male. it has a good reputation so I was interested to visit. The food is great and the service not bad but the noise level was a little higher than I found comfortable and the tables rather close together. Overall a good experience but I probably wouldn't return.
We waited 35 minutes to get served, by which time two of my party had to leave.
Unfortunately, between placing orders like starters and mains and actually having them, we waited 2 hours (we came in at 1945 and left at 23h+).
We were told that the waiting time for the meat was 35 minutes, and it was more like 1h15.
The staff was friendly but we had to ask for plates missing, sauce missing etc.
The level of noise was of the chart. Way too noisy. And yelling for two hours is not fun.
The meat was however excellent even if too cooked (asked for medium rare, got well done)
We asked for two bottles of one (a Rioja from 2006 and a Crozes Hermitage from 2017). EACH time we got served a different year (Rioja 2005 and Crozes-Hermitage 2016), while it did not really impact the prize, you shouldn't advertise for products you don't have. So let's have a serious discussion with your sommelier.
In addition to that, the Rioja was too acid, I think it was too old but the Crozes-Hermitage was nice and fruity.
I have been for breakfast here on a few occasions and it never lets me down. The menu is varied and the food great. The staff were, as they always are, attentive without overdoing it. It's priced about right for the area and quality.
Amazing steaks and service at Hawksmoor. Will look forward to visiting again.
it was a great experience, staff catered to one of the group's birthday with balloons and a candle on desert. made it special.
Great food, great service - little loud
A very good rib eye steak, cooked exactly as we wanted it. Service always available but not hovering. I expected a good venue and meal and got it. I went for a business meal so the ability to talk and hear was important and I got that. I would go there again.
Lovely food and service was great, the cocktails were a bit overpriced for how much you actually get though, but delicious
I was very disappointed that I didn’t get the table I requested. We were given a table next to a large and noisy party and thus conversation was very difficult.
First visit and I thought food and staff were excellent.
Would have liked to see the staff in a uniform of some sort.
W had the summer menu - excellent value & service!
Looked after excellently for post graduation meal - couldn’t have been treated better
