Pleasant family evening at Hawksmoor Knightsbridge. Excellent Oysters to start and very good service throughout. But not full marks because, whilst the side dishes were superb, the main event-the steaks-were a little dry and disappointing.
I came here last Sunday with a friend, quite hungover from a party the night before and in need of a good roast dinner and that's exactly what we got. I couldn't fault it. All fresh and home made. 2 large slices of perfectly pink roast beef, a HUGE yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, parsnips, greens, carrots and we ordered a portion of cauliflower cheese as well. It was all fantastic including the staff and actually considering we were in Knightsbridge it was also very good value for money. Go there - you won't be disappointed!
Food and service was fantastic. Restaurant was hot and stuffy and we were sat at back of room so was particularly warm
I've visited Hawksmoor Knightsbridge on number of occasions. The food as always was excellent. The service was a little disappointing & not up to usual standards. It was early in the dinner service & our server seemed distracted. I am happy to recommend Hawksmoor Knightsbridge & will return soon as it one of the best steaks in London.
The food was cold when it arrived. The table was wet and I sat on a wet chair. The service was slow and somewhat prosaic and definitely not what I expected for the price I paid.
Great food and great service from our waitress Laura. Highlight was the variety of irresistible desserts.
Over priced terrible service and awful surroundings Dodd just ok nothing special not even close to GAUCHO STEAKHOUSE
Fab food & service as always, and the set lunch menu is good value for money.
The starters, crab toast and mussels were very delicious. Our meet was also very good. We had a nice server who was happy and professional.
I went on 20th June for the wife's birthday. Truly excellent service. The waiter even put a candle on my wife's pudding as he asked why we were there. Everything was perfect apart from the steaks. I had a big porterhouse and the wife had chateaubriand. Mine was meant to be rare and the wife's medium rare but I think mine was medium rare and the wife's was medium. Mine was also very tough to cut. The knife just couldn't get through despite much sawing and effort. I asked for a sharper knife, but even that was not much of a match for the formidable beast laid before me. It tasted ok, if a little too salty. I am usually the one to put far to much salt on myself so that is saying something. The starters and pudding were very nice though and overall it was a good experience and definitely different from the run of the mill restaurant. If I was truly honest though I would say that if I was just judging based on food alone, I would prefer a harvester meal all things considered, and thats a couple of hundred cheaper.
Excellent place for a meal but when it was full towards the end of the evening, it was too noisy for a business dinner.
Very good food-the rib starters and the Rolos for desert-service was a little slow to start with but got better
Our dinner st Hawksmoor Knightsbridge was superb! Service was extremely attentive and some of the best steak we’ve ever had. That’s coming from someone who has eaten beef at fine restaurants in NYC and Denver. We were celebrating Father’s Day with my husband and this was also our last night in London. We all agreed that Hawksmoor was the best food we had during our trip to London. I would highly recommend it!
The roast dinner was delicious and the crab on toast was very tasty. The service was efficient and the staff were friendly. It was a bit noisy and not much ambience. I would recommend the roast dinner most definitely.
Not for the Sunday roast it is awful but definitely for a steak
Excellent food and service. Good atmosphere and not at all noisy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would definitely return.
Our waitress was very helpful in explaining the menu and making suggestions. A friend told us to order the bone in rib eye and we did. The presentation was only surpassed by the taste! We also ordered the pork rib appetizer, which was the best pork we’ve ever had. They even gave me the recipe card. Wine was perfectly matched to our food. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.
Very attentive staff, we were served by Frantisek who was friendly, helpful with any questions and gave so much care and attention to looking after us.
We had an excellent meal on Sunday evening, our waieter was so attentive and we had such a good time with him, turning our days aroun
Food not great, very very expensive and all I took from it was a night and next day on the toilet and a big dent in my wallet, Gouchos is much better
Outstanding once again.
Only order the beef options. All others are equivalent to a medicore restaurant. It's in a motel, enough said.
The food is very average and zero atmosphere. Booked under the £30 offer, not even mentioned when ordering. Lost it’s way. Service was attentive.
We booked lunch for a joint birthday and chose from the set lunch menu which was great value. Caesar salad starter was memorably delicious and the steak main a treat. Staff were really lovely. I’d recommend.
Made the booking (team work dinner) easily and then called to amend the reservation. It was a busy night and so I did expect to wait a bit longer for my food. But it took almost 45 min for the food to come out. However it was amazing. Meat cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious! The waiter did forget our cheese board so we had to wait a bit longer for that. But overall he great experience
Excellent beef of very high quality. Good service and the corkage charge on a Monday night is a winner. Does what it says on the tin.
I ordered the Roast beef. The meat was good, unfortunately the trimmings, particularly the potato’s were lukewarm and a bit dry. For the price of the meal, I expected much more and would choose somewhere else in future.
Great steaks, amongst the best I’ve had. Lovely side dishes and superb puddings. Extensive wine list. Nice ambience to the restaurant and really great relaxed yet professional service
Absolutely amazing food and service. This place is an absolute gem and I will definitely return. The Sunday lunch was out of this world so I am looking forward to returning to try a steak.
As good as the other Hawksmoor restaurants in other areas of London. We were lucky as the place was almost empty and we were able to enjoy a quiet lunch.
Wonderful place - great meats and superb sides. They know their wines too
Excellent quality, very good service. Venue is quite noisy, but due to acoustics structure of the place.
From arriving and getting a handcrafted drink at the bar to the very attentive and helpful waiting staff it was a fantastic experience. The decision on food and the accommodating responses made for a great evening. A casual approach to quality dining, superb steak and delicious wine made for a memorable anniversary. We were not rushed and the service was excellent in every way.
Always a fabulous dining experience. Best old fashioneds and steaks in London. Hands down.
Thanks for the birthday cake surprise it was lovely
Overall fab experience lovely food. But please take into account there is no lift due to the age of the building just very steep steps & stairs so anyone with some kinds of disability will struggle. Restaurant staff are amazing.
Unfortunately our evening was cut short due to a fire alarm and the restaurant filling with cooking smoke. They handled the situation very well, but it spoiled our evening (a rare evening away from our 1yr daughter). Not the date night we had planned. Disappointed that although we were asked for our email address upon leaving, we have heard nothing from Hawksmoor.
This is the third Hawksmoor we have visited. Perhaps we were spoilt having been to Air Street and Covent Garden first, as overall this isn't the best Hawksmoor. The service and food are second to none as usual with Hawksmoor, but the cocktails beforehand were poor, and a simple gin & tonic sent back.
The restaurant itself does not have the ambience of the others, although it has the look of an up-market, quality room.
If we had not visited Hawksmoor before we would probably have enjoyed it more, but as Knightsbridge is not on our usual itinerary we will probably not return. We will definitely return elsewhere.
