5 star! Booked as a special birthday meal out, first time for us both, and it was amazing. The service was impeccable. First class. The cocktails were delicious (Parisian Daily was my fave). But the main event, the steak, wow! Chateaubriand with monkfish to accompany, dripping fries and buttered greens on the side. Followed by sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream. The best food I have ever had!!
We will be back :)
Le repas était excellent avec des mets de qualités. C’est la 4 eme fois que nous y retournons et je n’y regrette pas du tout. Néanmoins, il faisait très bruyant et difficile à s’entendre.
Food was sensational and the service was fantastic. Had a great night and will definitely be going again
Excellent food. Service was outstanding, everyone was extremely friendly.
Super happy staff more than happy to help, food is delicious, awesome cocktail list. Would go back time and again.
I was really impressed with my visit on Saturday. The staff were friendly and personable and the food was gorgeous. Whilst I voted value 4/5 I fully appreciate the costs are due to this restaurant being a more high end steakhouse so I have no complaints.
Towards the end of the meal we realised we had to leave quickly, the staff pulled out all the stops to make sure my dessert came out quickly.
Would definately revisit and recommend.
Hawksmoor is amazing ! The food and service are the best around . Can’t wait to go back !
Faultless food, great service will definitely recommend to others and hope to return soon when next in town
A lovely Friday night meal. Good service and good. I would recommend the monkfish.
We had always fancied the Hawksmoor so for my wifes 60th the grand children clubed together for an evening out. It was very dark inside but we think this was a theme in Manchester venues. The Noise level was excessive and intrusive. We like normal levels of people talking and laughing but this was too much. The staff and service was excellent - we couldn't fault them. The food starter we shared a old spot belly rib. with the pickled salad and it was excellent. My wife had 300g fillet steak for main and I had a griddled steak with shallots on the top. I also had creamed spinach and mushrooms. My steak was ok but i had a taste of my wife's which looked as though it had been cooked and rested perfectly. It tasted of fish? It didn't taste awful but it wasn't right. We dis mention this and they knocked the price off the meal. It was very expensive for what we had - bottle of wine was £52 - We wouldn't say the experience would make us go back for a second visit. I wouldn't though recommend people don't go as i am sure a lot of people there enjoyed their experience. We can only say what our experience was.
Still my favourite restaurant after Hawksmoor Air Street. I think I'm going to have to ask for a smaller fillet steak in future - 300g is just too big for me as I don't want to be too full to also enjoy their excellent sides as well as starter and desert! First world problems...
Excellent food - your reputation is well earned. However I ordered my steak medium and it bordered more on well done with no blood showing in the middle at all.
The service was poor to begin with - the girl at reception was pleasant enough but the waiting staff at first were not good. There was a Male waiter / manager? who whilst taking our order seemed to be more concerned with what was going on elsewhere in the restaurant
It did take away from our experience and was down right rude. It was our wedding anniversary and it appeared that he didn't give a dam. Fortunately this waiter went to another part of the restaurant and we were served by a very nece girl.
Further notes regarding the service are that it is very slow and your staff should take more attention when you are trying to get their notice.
Only because the food was so good will we contemplate returning.
I look forward to receiving your comments
My 2nd visit. Took clients and staff. They were very impressed from the 1st minute. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable.
The food as always was fabulous. I missed the mouse incident but nobody minded.
We will return again and again.
Thanks for a great night
Always good quality food superbly prepared. On this occasion though, no fillet steak or lobster available and I had a steak from the Chateaubriand. This was good, but I would have preferred a middle cut fillet.
Got to say I was very impressed on my first visit!
I took clients and they loved it...
the service was great, food lovely and cocktails amazing!
Will be going back and highly recommend it!
The service was ok. We were 3 and all ordered a starter and steak. Two of us had fillet. All three arrived with just a steak on the plate. Nothing else. No garnish, nothing. This is just not acceptable and is absolutely well below standard. It just doesn't make the food look inviting. When it was put down in front of us we just sort of stared at our plates. It seems the kitchen staff / chef takes zero pride in serving food that looks appetizing. What a shame. In addition, whilst my fillet was ok, it certainly was nothing to crow about. The taste was good, but it was much chewier than fillet should be. Our starters were ok. I had the smoked salmon and it was good. My two guests had the summer salad and declared it weird. A great slab of toasted bread on it just doesn't work. We had a bottle of wine (Spanish Rioja) which was good, but at £40 odd was expensive. The meal came to £209 and I was presented with the machine with the lowest tip option being 10%. so my choice was leave nothing or 10% which I did because the service was good. All together it was a poor experience, over priced, thoroughly underwhelmed by the appearance of the plates and I will not be going back. There are just too many other better places to eat for me to waste my time and money feeling underserved and ripped off eating at your place.
Excellent food, quality and service. very good waiter service
Hawksmoor from location to location is always spot on, I’ve never had a bad experience.
On the lunch menu -
I was there for a business dinner. Food was delicious and came out fairly quickly. Service was prompt and polite. I would go again if I had a choice.
We went on Sunday evening at 7.30pm, they had run out of half of the menu, no Sunday lunch left, even though it wasn't particularly busy and it wasn't a 9pm table! They had also run out of a lot of other dishes on the menu and the steak we had wasn't great either. All in all a rubbish experience, when I was really looking forward to it.
Class as always, top food - top service. Can’t fault the place! 10/10
Nice place, fantastic food and extraordinary cocktails.
One minor thing need to address will be the lobster from surf and turf; it taste good but it is not as fresh (lobster meat is slightly a bit mushy)
Amazing as always! Lovely service and atmosphere. The steak was fantastic and the sticky toffee pudding was amaaazing!
This is a fantastic place for Sunday Lunch...the food and service is outstanding. The problem is, it’s so good it ruins ever having a roast anywhere else!
Faultless service and the best roast I’ve had! Lovely restaurant and atmosphere.
Fantastic food as always. Had the prime rib for Sunday lunch. Staff were brilliant, they even made complimentary cocktails with a chocolate message congratulating our friends who had just got married. A lovely touch
The steaks were to die for. As good as you would get in USA. We had booked but were told table not ready. 8.15 on a Saturday night. We had to wait half an hour. So we had to go and pay for a drink in the bar which we wouldn’t have otherwise bothered with. This added £40 to the total bill. We were seated right by the kitchen servery and toilet exit/entrance area so it was very busy. Out waitress was absolutely first class. Chips and jacket potatoes Luke warm. Told them it was my birthday which it was and they brought me free chocolates with the bill. A very mixed visit.
Superb in every way and certainly the best steak restaurant I’ve been to anywhere - whichever one you choose to go to they do a great job, from the front desk, in the bar and in the restaurant itself
The steak, which is what most people will go here for was excellent however, we felt the side dishes seriously let the whole experience down. They were severely overpriced and small in terms of portion size. £5.50 for a small bowl of wilted spinach is very excessive.
Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable and we are glad we visited but do not think we will return unless the pricing changes.
As always, a fantastic meal at Hawksmoor. Impeccable service and great food/wine. Love it.
Early Saturday evening booking. The place was very busy. The food was excellent, but the service felt impersonal, as we were served by at least six different servers during the meal.
I've dined there once before and, although we were seated in a different part of the main room, for me, the tables are just a bit too close together and I'm too close to other diners. I don't want to hear their conversations and I don't want them to hear mine, either.
The tables are small, and they soon fill up if you order a few items. It's as if you have to do a balancing act during your meal. Condiments, sauces, plates and glasses nearly all touching one another. The table next to us received a table extension which nearly touched our table, so their meal was spread out our way.
The route to the front door can be a challenge, as you're dodging servers and diners through two smaller rooms. It's probably a greater challenge for customers with access requirements.
Hawksmoor does seem to want to pack us all in!
Despite the above, we still left a 15% cash tip.
The cocktails were delicious the food was yummy and the service was great. We all had a lovely time.
Outstanding as always
excellent venue away fro the cycling
prices a bit on the steep side but we kniewthat and meal courses were excellent
We shall come again
The Shakey Pete's Ginger Brew was spectacular - the best ginger beer we have ever tasted. Really impressive and warm welcome by the staff - quite a contrast to the service that one would ordinarily get in London restaurants. Each member of the staff has a can-do attitude, receptive to customer requests which may not be strictly on the menu. The food is excellent and the salad (heritage tomato) was so fresh and tasty. Classy interiors.
The food was delicious and the service was friendly and personable
Delicious food at decent prices. Many options to choose from. Friendly staff to both great and interact with you throughout your time at Hawksmoor. Highly recommended.
Really lovely meal. Staff seemed very knowledgeable and were very attentive. Food was lovely, would be nice to know cost of the piece of steak you were actually ordered and having as prices vary individually. Maybe show prior to cooking ?
2nd time been and food was definitely not as good the steaks were not cooked to our requested preference, the Hake also over cooked, the wine is very expensive compared to similar restaurants in Manchester.
