Hawksmoor Manchester, the first outside London, is a 130-cover restaurant and 44-cover bar with an Edwardian interior and a menu revolving around only the best British steaks, simply cooked over a real charcoal grill along with sustainable seafood from around the British coast. The menu features a number of new dishes created especially for the Manchester restaurant including Shortrib Macaroni. Joining old favourites on the bar menu, like the Kimchi Burger, Shortrib French Dip and Lobster Roll, is a Poutine Barm, a Montreal-meets-Manchester sandwich with triple cooked chips, chicken gravy and cheddar cheese curds stuffed in a traditional barm, with extra gravy for dipping.

I was at the restaurant with my partner to celebrate her birthday, and as her birthday was on a Monday we took advantage of the BYO offer for Mondays and brought along two bottles of wine. Due to problems on the Metro, there were no trams running so I telephoned the Restaurant to explain and they were very happy to hold my booking over until we arrived . Our booking was for 7.00pm and our table was held until 8.00pm whe we finally arrived. The staff on reception were lovely as was the young woman who served us throughout the meal. We both chose a different starter and both were excellent. We both chose a steak from the menu, my partner chose for hers to be medium and I chose mine to be rare, they both turned iut as medium but that wasn't a gret issue for me. My steak wasn't all that tender and there were some bits of sinew running through. It may be the particular cut, I had chosen Sirlion, and as I don't eat steak very frequently, I let it pass. The desserts which we both chose were excellent. The main thing for me was that my partner enjoyed her meal and enjoyed the evening.

AMAZING! We booked a table on a whim to celebrate my birthday, Valentine’s Day and our wedding anniversary. Easy to book through Open Table. Received a telephone call to confirm our booking the day before. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after. The ladies on reception took our jackets and welcomed us. We made our way up to the bar where there were 2 glasses of water waiting and the barmaids took our order quickly. There was someone on hand the whole time taking orders as and when we’d finished our cocktails, which were delicious by the way! We were asked if we were ready to be seated in the restaurant and taken through to a lovely, comfortable booth. Our waiter was fantastic, very attentive and service with a smile. He answered questions about the menu and helped us to decide what to order. Allowed us to taste the wine before ordering a bottle. The wine list is extensive and we were spoilt for choice! The food was fantastic. Hubby had pork belly to start and I had scollops.. both were delicious. For our main we shared a 750g Portahouse Steak which was incredible, as were the dripping fries. Creamed spinach was a little spicy but still delicious. For desert we had the ambassadors reception... WOW! You have to try it. Finally, we were treated to some complimentary salted caramel chocolates because the staff had communicated with our waiter that we had a triple celebration. It was a pleasant surprise and made our whole experience perfect. Cost was approx £200 including 3 course meal for 2, a bottle of wine and a few cheeky cocktails, which we thought was very reasonable. Highly recommended and we will certainly be returning! Thank you Hawksmoor for a lovely evening and please pass on our thanks to all the staff.

Not our first time At Hawksmoor and as always the steak was perfection! Absolutely delicious. For all other visits the service has been fantastic too however this time it was a little slow and there was a few occasions where we had to try and catch the attention of someone to ask for refills, to order deserts etc. We did feel a little ignored at times. However the staff were all really lovely and friendly and as always very knowledgeable.

Chosen after researching places to eat when in town for a mini break. Menu looked lush, and welcomed the fixed menu offer. Service was quick but not rushed, only real criticism would be that with louder background music comes louder chatter which limited conversation

Even on a busy evening like Valentines Day , The Hawksmoor maintained its usual high quality in both service and quality of food. My filet steak , ordered ‘Black and Blue ‘ was perfect , my partners sirloin equally superb. We are always spoilt for choice with so many delicious sides , spring greens , fan chunky chips, mushrooms, authentic mac and cheese or even fried eggs. Simple but perfect .
