Attention to detail made such a difference in the presentation/taste of the food. My steak was cooked to perfection and the sauces accompanying it complemented very well. Only thing I disliked were the dripping fries.. they were just regular fries.
The food we had was amazing. However we were very disappointed to arrive and to be told that there was no lobster or oysters available. Apparently this is quite common for a Sunday evening and if so I feel that customers should be told this before arrival.
We’ve been twice for Sunday lunch now and it has been impeccable each time. Food, drinks and team are really excellent.
Dined on the afternoon of 23/03. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier and service from taking our coats, to cocktails at the bar through to eating in the restaurant was superb throughout, a professionally run, well oiled machine.
We had old spotbelly ribs and scallops for starters. Both dishes were amazing, full of flavour and melted in the mouth 10/10.
Our steaks-a 700g Porterhouse and a fillet, once again were a cut above, especially the former, couldn’t fault. The sides, however were no better than what you’d receive at Hard Rock Café, we expected them to surpass that quality in a restaurant of this calibre, to be honest. The accompanying sauces we ordered varied in quality. The béarnaise sauce was very good but the peppercorn sauce was runny and didn’t have much flavour.
Both of us had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was rich, so sweet and just the ticket to complete our meal-the clotted cream that topped the dessert was absolutely divine. I do suspect, though, that the actual pudding itself came out of the microwave and wasn’t freshly made on the premises.
Now for the glaring mistake: I booked this meal around two months in advance as a surprise for my partners birthday and made that known on the online form. When I received a confirmation phone call the day before our meal, I was asked if it was for a special occasion and after mentioning my partners birthday I was told that something would be done to acknowledge this. Alas, it was completely overlooked and no mention was made of it, quite surprising when the service in every other aspect of our visit was so sharp and professional. However, the food, in the main, was the star of the show and we both left happy.
Would we return? Probably not, on the basis that I feel that they’re eeking out the maximum chargeable prices and then some for what is essentially just a good quality steak restaurant and you can get similar produce for quite a bit less at other venues.
Fabulous evening with family. Great food. Excellent service.
Visited prior to going to the theatre it was a fantastic way to start the evening. Loved the decor and the food was amazing a definite must try for anyone who enjoys a good steak
First class service friendly and efficient to accompany best steaks in Manchester need I say more😃
Why sister and I have eaten hear several times and our friends wanted to eat here also.
They enjoyed it - we were placed next to a table of about 8 men eating and drinking
Who were very loud - thankfully after 10 mins they left and peace resumed.
The meal was great
Lovely starters and mains. Good selection of wines. We had excellent service and the atmosphere was spot on. Would definitely recommend.
A perfect dining experience. A very well-thought out operation with a real grandeur to its interior, plates and friendly individuality of service. Almost £50 for a sirloin with standard sides, yet best in class - wonderfully caramelised, dark crust and even pink inside. Standout 'Ambassador' dessert.
On taking my boss out for din dogs, Hawksmoor was at the top of the list in Manchester. I can I honestly say that Lauren looked after us splendidly and she is a wonderful asset to the place. Will be back soon!
First time at Hawksmoor and hopefully not my last, dining in Manchester is generally expensive. But then a few places set themselves apart form the rest. The whole experience was perfect and the food (which is the most important thing) was amazing!
Starter was great, but this was the worst steak I've had at a Hawksmoor.
Definitely worth a visit, service was excellent, very friendly greeted all the way to the table. Starters were good, the main event steak was good too, supporting sides were really good. Would definitely return
Everything I've had at Hawksmoor is absolutely top notch. Not too expensive either. Only complaint is that the music is a bit too high for my taste.
Service was amazing and the food was excellent!! Highly recommend
From walking through the door at Hawksmore, I can honestly say this is the best dining experience I have had in Manchester. The service, the food and atmosphere were second to none. Thank you so much for a perfect evening with my family 💛
This recommandation by our new Manchester-Riends was Great. A Must-Visit for everyone who loves good food and wine.
First time we have been to Hawksmoor and was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were very friendly and considering how busy it was service was excellent. We were disappointed that 2 of the items we were going to order had run out, crab on toast and macaroni cheese, however the second choices were still delicious. We ordered ceasar salad, celery heart salad and bone marrow for starters which were very tasty.
Roasted Hake with mash and warm tartare sauce, and 2 rib eye steaks with triple cooked chips, my son thought the tomato ketchup was amazing, every morsel was eaten. Desserts were shortbread with caramel sauce and almond cake with blood orange sorbet which I have never seen on a menu before and was a nice change from the usual. The bill was quite reasonable for what we had and would definately be returning again.
This is the third time I’ve been for Sunday lunch and as usual the food was superb. Only drawback was the prime rib had sold out and we were looking forward to it.
Service really quick and friendly
Impeccable service as always, and just simply the best food in town.
Food as always is excellent, really enjoyed the pre dinner cocktails as well as the wine. Sat at a lovely corner table and the service was very attentive.
Amazing...… right from greeted at the door, the bar & cocktails, waiter and food. It was incredibly busy but we didn't feel neglected at all.
Had a great evening at Hawksmoor for my daughters Birthday, the food was really nice, the service was very good and the place a buzzing in a really good way, would definitely go back.
Firstly would like to thank my brother for this gift. A wonderful experience was had by myself and wife. A must for anyone visiting Manchester. We will be returning.
My wife and I booked at Hawsmoot manchester for our 1st wedding anniversary before going to a show later that evening. We were welcomed by four separate staff on the way in which was nice. The food was excellent and the choice was brilliant. The steaks were like a taste explosion. The price was a bit high but we got a lot for our money and the quality was exceptional. To top off our evening the pastry chef wrote happy anniversary in chocolate on our desserts! The service was brilliant and we had 5 members of staff say goodbye to us on the way out. A fantastic, high quality restaurant with a great atmosphere. It was fun but also had a great setting being a renovated old court. We enjoyed it very much and will go again.
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Excellent service, food, and ambiance! Highly recommend!
Great food, great service and a lovely setting. Always love going back.
Our third visit to Hawksmoor Manchester. It just gets better every time. How can this continue!
Food was great quality, well worth the price (pricey but if you want good quality food, that’s the price you pay!)
Service was quick, friendly and overall excellent! Our waiter went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable! Room was quite darker than most restaurants but it was to set the relaxed and friendly atmosphere! The level was what you would expect of a popular restaurant!
Would definitely visit again
The place is excellent from the moment you cross the threshold. The friendly attentive staff cannot do enough for you, recommendations you can rely on, asking what your preferences are and that is just the cocktails!
The steak is out of this world and my only regret is that the short rib macaroni is no longer on the menu! Top marks!
I’ve been to Hawksmoor many times over the last 6 years. Friday night was just a little below the standard expected which was a shame as I was there with friends who hadn’t been there before. They had the chicken which was over salted, on the positive the bill was discounted
Best food experience ever waiterwas exceptional well done!!!
Birthday - amazing food and service, just a little slow on delivering the food.
A fantastic meal in the hands of our wonderful waiter John! Attentive, relaxed and a good laugh! Will definitely be back soon, if not just for the onion rings!
The best dining experience . Five star all the way.
From the moment I walked through the doors, I knew I was in for an excellent night. The welcome was warm, friendly and inviting. I was shown to the bar area where I tried some of the most amazing cocktails I have ever had the pleasure to imbibe. We were shown to the Dining Room, where our waiter was smiling, friendly, helpful and informative. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The food was simply out of this world. Sadly some dishes were a little on the pricey side (a small bowl of 'buttered greens' was about £4.50) but the overall meal experience was fantastic. we will most definitely be back soon.
Great food, great service. Lovely ambiance and very busy for a cold wet Monday night
Definitely worth visit!!!
As a repeat customer Hawksmoor didn’t disappoint, Great Food once again although service seemed slightly slower than your usual high standards. Can’t wait till I’m back again next month.
