3rd time visiting, and not been disappointed, food was perfection and service excellent will be returning again. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn’t know about Hawksmoor they are completely missing out.
The food was delicious, it is a little expensive but well worth the price. The food was served hot and cooked to perfection. The wait staff were very attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. Loved that they knew who had ordered what and served us correctly.
Lovely place to eat.
Great steaks, attentive and friendly service from start to finish - always a pleasure to dine there.
Food and service were excellent!I will definitely be going back again
As always, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and fabulous food.
Beautiful food and friendly helpful staff will be back!
Food was amazing, the steaks were fantastically cooked. The bloke who served us had a lot of experience and was very nice. A couple of bits weren’t great - they ran out of Devon Red cider, but they said they’d give me a strongbow free of charge, but then charged £5.75 for it on the bill. They also add a discretionary 12.5% fee which I wasn’t too happy about as I only found out when I got the bill. But, I’ve found that happens a lot in city centre restaurants.
It cost us £137 (without the 12.5% fee). We shared a starter Yorkshire puddings which were very big). We then had a steak with a sauce, eggs, chips each and then veg to share. We didn’t have a dessert as we were so full - the portion sizes were generous.
Overall I’d say I really enjoyed the food and staff. Shame about the few bits I mentioned as it would have been a flawless meal otherwise.
Very overpriced restaurant so expect to pay £150 plus for two people if you go for 2 courses with just one drink each. We had chateaubriand & it was not the best we have had for the price we paid, Both myself & my wife had chewy steak on the end portions which I have never experienced with chateaubriand ever before. One thing that goes with steak is good chips, we ordered dripping chips expecting real thick cut potato chips cooked in beef dripping but what arrived at the table was the opposite, thin cooked French fries that tasted and looked like frozen chips from a fast food restaurant. Even the triple cooked chips at an adjacent table looked no better. Nobody asked us how our meal was until we paid which again a big "no, no" for any restaurant. Anyway I hate being negative but I paid well above the average price for chewy steak & fast food chips so I would only rate this restaurant as 5 out of 10.
We went here for my sons birthday
He loves a steak. The atmosphere the service the food everything was spot on. We would definitely be returning Soon
My favourite restaurant, everything is always perfect!
The whole experience at Hawksmoor manchester is 5 star, food, service, atmosphere and wine. It was so good we have booked already for the next time we are in town.
If you want all of the above, dont go anywhere else.
The speedy lunch was good value and nicely cooked. A little more attention to detail when picking and preparing both the watercress and the steak would have merited 5 stars.
The room was quite noisy at times, staff and friends??greeting loudly.
First time visiting Hawksmoor and can honestly say it’s mine and my boyfriends new favourite place. The atmosphere was brill, the staff were the loveliest and the food was so so delicious!
The starter was good.
Asked whether I wanted my burger pink or well done. It arrived very pink.
Great food and the service was outstanding.
Will come again next time we visit Manchester
Didn’t have 3 menu items that we wantwd
Fabulous Food, amazing atmosphere, superb staff . All round wonderful evening
My wife and I had another wonderful Hawksmoor experience! Service from Leo was outstanding, the food and drink were delicious and there was a real buzz about the restaurant, after the end of lockdown! Thanks guys!
If you want to enjoy a fine steak cooked perfectly, in wonderful surroundings, then look no further than Hawksmoor. The quality hasn't slipped since the high standard they set from the start. Always an absolute pleasure.
Great staff, amazing food would love to go again.
Excellent friendly staff. A great Sunday roast. Would recommend
It’s The Hawksmoor. In Manchester. Can’t really critique either as I love them both! Me and a mate went specifically for the Sunday Roast. I’d’ve eaten the plate of I could’ve.
Great ambience and service. The food was absolutely amazing!
Fantastic food, although pricey this was expected.
However we really did not appreciate the 12.5% service charge and charity donation automatically being added to the bill - these should be voluntarily left rather than assumed. This kind of practice leaves customers in an uncomfortable position should they wish to ask for them to be removed or reduced. For this reason we would not return.
Fantastic service and food once again. The staff in the bar area were particularly helpful, suggesting cocktails and things we may like. Very attentive. We’ve been many times before and will most definitely be back again.
Lighting perhaps a little too low but otherwise everything was excellent. Food was great and service excellent. As it was our wedding anniversary they even gave us our dessert for free, which was a pleasant surorise and a nice bonus. Will recommend it to others and pop back again sometime ourself sometime.
Absolutely adore hawksmoor Manchester. The food is always spot on, and the service is exemplary, attentive and friendly. Love it x
Unfortunately, my recent trip to Hawksmoor was not like the others. Although the staff very friendly and polite, the table service fell very short of past visits. We had to constantly ask for drink re-fills (water and our bottle of wine), and the level of attention (which attracts me to your establishment) was really lacking. I had also booked the meal as part of a special event - my 40th and a friends leaving do. Having previously visited Hawksmoor for special occasions, friends of mine have received excellent service and complimentary items like a dessert or a drink. I received none of these which is rather heart breaking, particularly when a place like yours is a treat for someone of my income. The combination of poor service and a clear disparity of service in terms of coming for a special occasion and being treated differently, has unfortunately put me off coming again.
Can’t think of anything to complain about. Servers were attentive and polite. Food was good. Maybe overpriced but I knew that from previous reviews so can’t complain!
Excellent service and fabulous food. The Yorkshire pudding starters were delicious. All staff were excellent and we were not rushed to hand the table back after 2 hours. Thanks all for a lovely evening.
Had the porterhouse - just about the best steak ever eaten . Service excellent. Highly recommended - just fabulous!
Great food and lovely vibe, apart from the music which cheapens the experience a bit..!
We chose from the Two or Three course Menu for £20/23 . We both had the fillet Tail which was an extra £5 ,the quality of the steak was very poor ,I 've had better steak at other places ,after much hype about it being the best place to have a steak we were very disappointed !! Whether it was because we chose from the cheaper menu ,i don't know ,but that shouldn't be the case ,we should get the same quality across the board.
Great food ! Lovely scallops for starters and the followed by a nice fillet steak, cheesecake was so nice , we will be going back soon , nice staff and friendly
It was a nice couple of hours but the service was a little slow, more with drinks than food. Steaks were lovely but generally seems a bit overpriced. I'm glad I've been but not sure I would go again.
If you like steaks then this is the place to go in Manchester - or any were else in the UK.
The whole experience was first class.
I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Everything was amazing especially the food. We'll be back soon.
The food was excellent. My wife went off menu and was readily accommodated. The team working there were really engaging without being fussy and very helpful. A really nice afternoon with good food, good wine, and really well located especially for the Opera House where we went to see a show that evening. Thank goodness these places are opening up again!!!!
Amazing food and service. Ribs to start melted in the mouth with a lovely star anise slaw. Porterhouse between three of us 1kg! for main course was the best steak I've ever tasted. It's certainly not cheap but so amazing. Cheese board for after was delicious too with homemade crackers. Great wines and port and beers too.
