Great meal,, great value. One steak wasn't the best, but waitress Hannah was a superstar and sorted it with no questions asked
Whenever we are in London, we always make a stop at Hawkmoor for Sunday Roast. As usual, it was wonderful. We already have our reservations for later on in the year, and are looking forward to another great meal.
An absolutely wonderful father'd day experience! We went on Sunday and all had the roast (2x Chicken, 1x Beef) which were outstanding (as always). Would recommend not having a starter as the portions are very filling, but the deserts are very much worth trying (would recommend the sticky toffee pudding and the mascarpone deserts particularly). Finally, a lively atmosphere with ambience-a-plenty - a sure fire way to make any Dad smile :D
There are better options for the price. Food fine but not special. Wine good but expensive. Tough rump steak with the after-theatre menu.
The dining room had a cosy feel to it. The service was faultless & at no time did we feel rushed.
The steaks, we both chose filets, we cooked just as we asked.....perfect!
Our only reservation was that we felt that the wines were rather expensive.
Lovely evening, great food and service! Will come again!
A great afternoon lunch and drinks, nice cocktails and the food was amazing.
Very good service and excellent food. Lovely atmosphere. Tables could be a bit more spaced out when 2 people dining as could here there conversation but other than that excellent resteraunt.
Great food and service. A really lovely space as well. All the staff were great with my sister's 10 month old.
Fantastic food and setting for a business dinner. Would highly recommend this Hawksmoor, it’s the best one in London.
Had the pre theatre meal. The Caesar salad was very nice with anchovy croutons and and good sauce. The steak was a good piece of rump very well cooked. It’s cooked exactly but as it’s dry aged there is no blood.
The service was very prompt. However I do have one criticism. £12 for a 175 ml of a house Malbec seems like a lot , but I don’t live in London
Coming from the U.S., I have expectations on great steaks; while the ribeye I had was tasty, it wasn't a whole lot different than a Texas Roadhouse ribeye. Sides were good, drinks were inventive and excellent - I highly recommend a dosage of the Shaky Pete Ginger Beer.
Had a great time to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. Food was very good
The food was great! Awesome atmosphere! Bathrooms were so clean and spacious!!
This was indlcredible! Absolutely everything was fantastic with the exception of the creamed spinach which had cayenne (not what we were expecting). The sticky toffee pudding was so amazing we were scraping the plates clean. The wait staff was incredibly friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. My daughter had left her lactaid pill on the table (she is lactose intolerant) next to her napkin and it was accidentally cleared with the napkin before desert and they were able to track it down for us averting the disaster of not getting to eat dessert.
Lovely flavoursome food ,well cooked and well seasoned.cant wait to return
Excellent all round. 2 (VERY) Minor complaints:
1.Waitresses face when I said we wanted to split the bill
2.Place was near empty, and another (solitary) diner was placed on the table next to ours. When its that quiet that sort of makes private conversation impossible.
This is our 3rd visit to this restaurant. Very good restaurant and food. Only negative was that we waited a hour from ordering to been served. Nice touch that a chocolate desert and candle was presented to my husband for his birthday.
Fantastic food, excellent service from cheerful staff. Great atmosphere- will definitely be returning
Exceedingly good experience in an early lunch with the set-up menu, which is definitely very good value-for-money.
Steaks are of course a must-do and my rump steak was cooked to perfection.
Beer options well above the average coupled with a quite decent wine list.
Very courteous and attentive staff, which makes a lot of different in a day with miserable weather (further to the prime rate service, they took good care of my soaked backpack and overcoat).
I was excited to visit this top rated restuarant with my husband when I visited London. Friendly staff greeted us and he led us to far back table(wall side) even though there were plenty empty tables available at the middle of restaurant. Group of asians were sitting next to our table.(We are also asians) While we were eating, the other asian couple were guided to seat at the corner of same row. When people from our next table left, another group of asian girls set next to us. So, basically whole edge of the row were just asians. We definitely didn’t think that it was coincidence. They seemed like they tacitly have designated seats for Asians. Their food was fine but pricy. (Not too special since we are asian-american. We can have these everyday!) I feel pitiful regarding their fake attitude, and disappointed that there are still a race discrimination out there.
Best steak I have ever tried!
Went there for my girlfriends bday and it was simply incredible. The best meal i’ve eaten in my life. Can’t recommend this place enough.
The food was good but not amazing, definitely overpriced. I think the lobster was a little undercooked but tasty otherwise.
We had a delicious Sunday roast at Hawksmoor, totally recommend it. The staff is lovely
One of my favourite steak restaurants, always a great experience!
Dined for Sunday roast, both plates took a while to arrive after ordering and were stone cold when they did. Waiter did replace as soon as he could without quibble but a very disappointing experience nonetheless. Will stick with Spitalfields restaurant in future, better service, experience and ambience.
Food was excellent, good service! Really enjoyed the birthday dinner, will go back again :)
The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and not intrusive. The restaurant has a great casual yet upscale vibe and is very lively but not loud.
What can I say? Hard to pick a fault with the entire experience apart from to say it might be a bit too noisy for some.
As usual the acid test is whether I would go back. Yes
Dinner for our 15th wedding anniversary. Lovely restaurant with a very nice atmosphere (think bubbly rather than peaceful) and brilliant waiting staff. Starters: scallops and a Caesar salad were both brilliant. Main course 700g prime rib, with buttered cabbage, spinach and beef dripping fries. Steak medium rare. Very well cooked. Great desserts. With wine, bill came to £180. Reasonable if not stunning value. We had a great time.
Overpriced for what it is. £36 for a steak no sides included. Nothing outstanding.
I didn’t answer the recommend question because it would depend. The noise level was pretty intensive our 73-year old ears had trouble hearing our own conversation. If we were there for a party, it would be fine, but I would not recommend it for a quiet, romantic evening. One of the servers was helpful when we asked her about where we could a quieter place in the Hawksmoor world. We did enjoy the food.
Everything was pretty much okay until it came time to leave and our waiter began to studiously ignore us though he managed to attend to several tables near us. We would have ordered dessert. As it was, just getting the check was an ordeal.
Another amazing visit to the Hawks! My partner and I shared the porterhouse steak with beef dripping fries, creamed spinach and cauliflower cheese! It was delicious and the service is second to none! We followed it up with a couple of cocktails at the bar! By far our favourite restaurant!
Food is very good. Great chefs. Service is good too, just too busy.
Great food but it was the star that made all the difference.
The food was good, average for the price. The 4 of us went on a Monday at 7 and the place was packed, made it a little hard to have a 4-way convo. Service was average for the price as well. You will enjoy your meal. We just didn't find anything special about it.
We went for my wife's birthday , I had booked a table for 5.30 but got my times mixed up so the staff said that we were welcome to sit at the bar and have a drink .
The staff were very friendly and helpful in telling you all about the different cuts of meat they had and recommended which to have.
It can be a bit pricey but worth the experience, would certainly go again.
Food is decent.
However, abit too much seasoning on the salt especially on potatoes which is naturally sweet. The salt spoils the flavor.
Service was decent. Overall average dining.
