What Insiders Are Saying
Hawksmoor Spitalfields was one of the first steakhouses in town, and it’s still one of the best. Finishing with toffee pudding is mandatory.
The good, was as usual! Very good! The steak I ordered was perhaps a tad more on the Medium rather than Medium Rare that I ordered, but never the less, fantastic meal! But the main features were the staff! So funny and hospitable! Would come back anyway! But hope to be served by then, especially Becky!
Steaks are almost perfect...
Not your usual wines & champagne make for a very nice change.
Delicious food and pina colada sundae is out of this world,
Delicious Sunday roast and great service.
Nice gesture as it was our anniversary.
Great food, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Never a disappointment :)
Good food, friendly staff - happy Sunday!
My gf ordered the steak fillet with Bone marrow and onions. This was a completely different dish to the one we ordered last Christmas. Unfortunately this wasn't for the better as the fillet was hidden under a layer of onions and was extremely tough for a fillet. Not sure if we will go back as there are so many other steak houses now we have yet to try.
Delicious food and excellent service! I went for dinner with my boyfriend and we had the scallops and crab toast for starters and filet and rib eye for main. We wanted to share everything and the waitress was very accommodating! I would highly reccomend!
Excellent food, great service, exactly the night we were looking for. Couldn't fault it at all.
Really fantastic steak, quite pricey but to be expected.
Despite having booked this table 2 months before the date of eating we were given a table right by the door and with a cashier station behind us so noise and traffic were a problem. At first we felt the service was poor but it certainly improved and our waiter was very charming and knowledgable. The biggest issue was that his colleagues never helped clear plates in his section and so we were elect with dirty plates for a long time. Food was very delicious and well presented however . Wine was overpriced for quality but it was good.
Excellent as always
From the welcome from the staff, which was so friendly and gave the impression that my son and I were valued customers through to the service which again was faultless it was lovely experience, however, as always the star of the show was the food, a shared chateaubriand, Mac and cheese, bone marrow gravy and triple cooked chips was to die for.
An amazing rib eye steak cooked to perfection, and good value for money. Would go again!!
Everything was delicious, the scallops & bone marrow were excellent starters, the T-bone steak was melt-in-the-mouth. Went for a drink in the bar downstairs first, cocktails were outstanding. Staff are friendly, attentive without being overbearing and very helpful. Expensive, but worth it for the quality! Thanks team for making our anniversary dinner so deliciously memorable.
Service was slow, drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. The aircon was on full blast, we asked for it to be turned off or at least turned down but the request was ignored. The steak was average at best but costs as much as an Wagyu and cooked poorly.
Awesome steak, amazing deserts
I asked if I could add an extra person to my booking, however I was told the restaurant was fully booked.
When we arrived there were about 7/8 free tables in the section we were in which did not get filled at all in the time we were there
As always, a fantastic experience at Hawksmoor Shoreditch. Tasty food and great service!
I had the Big Mac with the Ginger Brew - so yummy.
The staff were very help and offered alternative options to the group.
I have eaten at Hawksmoor Spitalfields several times and am always impressed by the quality of the staff - friendly without being over-familiar, unhurried and supremely professional. The food is of the highest quality and the wines are excellent. There's no getting away from the fact that it's not cheap to eat there - but it's worth every penny!
As always, very good steak. Made a special effort for our birthday.
Will be back again. Lovely birthday surprise at the end which I didn’t expect.
I came here for a much anticipated dinner with my boyfriend and it was one of the most amazing meals I've ever had. We ordered the 850g Porterhouse, which was cooked to a perfect rare. The fat was rendered perfectly and we enjoyed every morsel. We would have eaten more off the bone if it was socially acceptable. The creamed spinach on the side and the triple cooked chips were perfect companions.
For a starter, I had ordered the bone marrow with onions and he ordered the potted beef and bacon. Both were delicious. This should have all been too much food, but we couldn't stop. The cocktails were great, wine list is impressive, and the service was outstanding. I will look forward to many more trips to this Hawksmoor. It is a really special place and I couldn't recommend it enough!
Spur of the minute booking for lunch last Sunday turned out well. Hawksmoor in Spitalfields was great, service (after a bit of a slow start), was friendly and attentive, food and drink exceptional and ambience, buzzing, (although they need to get a quieter blender for the cocktails behind the bar, very noisy and people were having a lot of cocktails so quite persistent ! ).
Nice place, nice people and good value.
We came to the Hawksmoor for our wedding anniversary on Saturday and we just couldn’t fault the whole experience. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive. Wish we had caught his name. The food was to die for! By far the best steak I have ever had! And we were given a complimentary dessert saying happy anniversary which was a lovely touch. The food is slightly more pricey than other steakhouses so will have to be used for special occasions going forward, but we will definitely be going back and will not hesitate to recommend to people in the future. Overall, a brilliant dining experience.
Nice food, but a bit pricey, this is why the restaurant was almost emplty....
We are huge foodies and have never eaten anywhere that maintains such consistently high standards in food and service as Hawksmoor. We have had the pleasure of dining at all the London restaurants (some several times) over the last 10 years and have never come close to being disappointed. We now have a five year old son who also considers Hawksmoor to be the epitome of fine dining. When asked where he’d like to take his dad for a birthday meal, his immediate response was, “Hawksmoor”. When discussing where to go for a really good Sunday dinner, “Hawksmoor”. I could easily gush for pages over everything we ate on our recent visit. Spectacular fillet steak, breathtaking steak sausages, perfectly cooked chips, mushrooms that tasted like heaven, incredible desserts (peanut butter shortbread is a revelation) and delicious cocktails. And all served by pleasant, friendly, highly professional and knowledgeable staff, who didn’t once talk down to my son or express surprise at his choice of drink or meal. He was treated as a valued customer, just like everyone else. Our meal was worth every penny we paid for it. And we cannot wait to return.
This is one of my favourite restaurants! The food is unbelievable, the staff are super nice and the interior is beautiful. I fully recommend their Shakey Pete’s Ginger Brew cocktail, it’s delicious!
The Sunday roast was so good. We also got a chocolate marscapone pudding which was delicious! I wish I could eat here every week.
The food was amazing, really tasty and well presented. Waiters were really nice and provided good advice
Fantastic food, actual restaurant is a bit rough and ready not as posh as the one in Piccadilly but a great atmosphere
Currently not Spitalfields, but the other groups yes.
Food very tasty and served quickly. Drinks service very poor.
Great service and perfectly cooked steak, Hawksmoor delivered the usual decent meal expected. My only exception is that the sides were on the small side for the price you pay for them. I’m comfortable paying for a decent steak, but paying on average £5 for each side which were a mere handful (bear in mind I’ve pretty small hands) took the biscuit a little bit. No doubt I’ll be back at some point, but just a shame to see how much the side portions have reduced.
Great service and superb food. Scallops starter was to die for and the rib eye and fillet steak were cooked to perfection
Great food and great ambience. Service is a little slow at times but the food more than makes up for it.
We sat at the bar to eat dinner. The drinks were great, the food was delicious, and the bartenders were hilarious! The service was outstanding too. We had an all-around great time.
Food and drinks uniformly good, waitperson interested and attentive (and very patient with the really annoying people on the next table who seemed to have every possible food allergy and intolerance). I couldn't shake the feeling I was in a chain restaurant, albeit a very good one; consequently the price seemed a touch high. The whole experience could be improved upon by either a slightly less functional dining space, or a slightly lower price.
Had the roast dinner, food was average, and quite small portions for the price, great cocktails good service
We had a lovely family meal here on Sunday. Really good table right up the back, where we sat - talked, ate and drunk for about 3 and a half hours lol. Great food and service. The Hawksmoor isn't cheap but i do think you get what you pay for.
Would definitely recommend it. Quite a fan of Hawksmoor and my favourite restaurant is always the Spitalfields one :)
