Amazing as always. Love this place. Love the food. Love the staff. Love everything. Can't recommend it highly enough
Yet gain a fantastic dining experience, the first for a Sunday Lunch!
As usual they always deliver. The food is better than any other place we have visited
A really lovely lunch. We had booked as a special lunch for our wedding anniversary and selected Hayward’s because of reviews. It lived up to expectations and we enjoyed every bit of our meal. The gin cocktail was the gin tonic of my dreams. The food was all high quality with the beef and ox cheeks being expertly cooked and beautifully presented. We were delighted with the little extra special touch for our anniversary.
My second visit to Haywards and the food and service is outstanding. We went for the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The presentation and flavours of each course was delicious. The souffle is the best I have tasted. Cannot wait to return!
Brilliant lunch at Hayward’s on Sunday to celebrate a special family occasion. The service was impeccable, food delicious and plentiful! I was impressed by the reviews online before booking, but it was even better than I hoped - really a wonderful restaurant with so many thoughtful touches. Already looking forward to our next visit!
Great venue with welcoming staff and an excellent menu. Good wine list and a helpful sommelier. The restaurant was busy but staff were attentive and considerate. An excellent evening out.
A rare treat in the local area.
Excellent food and service.
Amanda, Ann and the front of house team are always fantastic and the food from Jadhre never disappoints
A great restaurant with excellent food, service and a nice setting.
Fantastic meal with superb service. Went for tasting menu which was excellent. Flight of wines definitely worth doing as eclectic with choices that I would generally not go for eg Greek wine from Santorini and a Slovakian wine both of which paired really well with the food and super interesting. Definitely Michelin quality food.
Slightly slow start probably due to many guests arriving around the same time, otherwise food and service were excellent as usual. Not the most atmospheric venue but the perfect choice for a quiet quality meal.
Amazing food, service and ambience. We love this restaurant.
Some lovely, tasty little extras. Food beautifully prepared and explained.
Haywards has to be the best fine-dining experience in this part of Essex. There are lots of decent places to eat in the Loughton/Buckhurst Hill/Chigwell/Epping area but none of them can match the experience at Haywards. Its very refines without being too stuffy and the food is simply brilliant. Service is attentive and friendly and the room is smart and uncluttered and very comfortable. Definitely a 10/10 on our visit.
Absolutely the best restaurant in the area. Five star service as always! Can't wait to return next
Excellent food and a dining experience. So lovely to not feel rushed. Michelin standard food beautifully presented and very tasty. Can’t wait to return.
Excellent , imaginative food cooked to perfection. Interesting wine list - we tried Epping white wine which was new to us. Staff who know exactly what is being served.
Service and food were excellent with a great ambience .
Great restaurant as always, lovely food and fab service
We've been before and this time everything was as exceptional as previously. My sister and I had a great time catching up and being well looked after by the staff and the amazing food. We will be back.
Superb meal , excellent service .
Highly recommended - and would certainly return .
I felt the menu was a little limited, the same with the range of beers. The beers I felt were expensive. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and explained all aspects of the meal, which was nice. Complimentary tasters from the chef were fun and delicious. We had freshly baked sour dough bread which was amazing.
Stunning food and stunning service, the taster menu with wine was a great experience
I met a friend for lunch at Haywards on a Thursday, and found we were the only diners there. It's a somewhat incongruous place, because for me as a Londoner it feels "sort of in the middle of nowhere", although I'm sure if you're from Epping that isn't the case. Why it's interesting is the food is superb - modern European Cuisine served with real care. It's the sort of quality you might find in a French Village Restaurant with a recommendation in the Michelin Guide, and eclipses many vaunted London establishments. Ambiance is good, and the service was excellent. Portions were on the small side, but that still works if you have the bread, starter, main and dessert. I recommend it.
Excellent, as always! This is the best eating establishment in the area, I would say one of the best in Essex. It seems we are not alone with this opinion. Amanda and her very experience husband Jahdre run a wonderful establishment. We have dined her more than a dozen times and always have a great experience. Give your taste buds a treat, £37.25 for 2 courses lunch time is a great deal.
Thoroughly recommend the taster menu, not cheap but is value for money. The food was full of flavours that compliment and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
Fine dining very complicated cooking with great imagination with combinations of ingredients
I would highly recommend this gem of a find! We have been a number of times and will continue to go. The head chef has phenomenal credentials and the talent is evident in very dish. We eat a lot in London and this place has the quality you you find in a top restaurant. Couldn't recommend the food enough!
Really enjoyed the tasting menu and the night at the restaurant, have eaten at a variety of Michelin starred restaurants and the tasting menu in my opinion was worthy of a star, there was a bit of a wait between courses but the plus side was there was no rush for us to get off the table, my partner wasn’t keen on the chocolate desert and the waiting staff changed for a very delicious soufflé instead! It was great! Many thanks
We had the taster menu. Food was absolutely delicious and nothing could be faulted. We did however feel that the wait time between each dish was too excessive (five courses over four hours). I also felt that the drinks could have been presented in a similar standard to the meal (ie I had a gin and tonic, had to pour in my own Schweppes, no lemon/slither of cucumber, thyme, berry...), husbands drink was served in a honey jar- a cheap touch). All in all a lovely evening.
Our new favourite restaurant. Beautifully cooked and presented food, delicately flavoured. Staff attentive and knowledgeable I would particularly recommend the 'paired wine' option for some innovative taste combinations.
Great food- had taster menu with wine choices- the extra course of the scallop with dashi broth was stunning.
All the food was cooked to perfection
Really lovely- something a bit special about going there.
Service was excellent. Good choice of wines and cocktails. The food is a culinary experience, whereby the food is well put together, even though it sounds a bit strange on the menu ( ie thyme ice cream! Which was delicious with the mandarin flavoured soufflé). Never disappointed!
I have dined at Haywards on several occasions. As usual the food and service were both excellent. Ambience was missing due to there only being two other diners on a Friday lunchtime. Despite this fact, my colleague and I were seated right next to the other diners. Why do restaurants do that? People like to be spread out so they can talk without being overheard, especially at lunchtime!!!
A little disappointed this time as the menu was almost the same as when we last visited at the end of January. If a restaurant expects to get repeat business the menu needs to be changed more often than once a quarter!
Food was well prepared and beautifully presented as usual and the service was impeccable.
Excellent in general, as expected from my previous visit. My onbly caveat woud be that it seemed a trifle chilly, particularly on first arrival.
Excellent as always. We had not been on a Sunday lunch time before so there usual delicious starters and pre starters together with an excellent mains beef option, cooked to each individuals preference. We are so lucky to have this excellent restaurant in a lovely setting.
Excellent lunch at Haywards. Service is very friendly and staff informative. Had a vegan menu for me and everything was delicious.
I've been before but my husband's first visit on his birthday! It was a joy. He couldn't get over the quality of the food and the service was second to none. Amazing! Thankyou to the Chef and all at Haywards for making our visit so very special, right down to the "Happy Birthday" plate brought after our desserts with delicious sweets on and the event written in chocolate! Lots of happy smiles.
