Hedone was great. The food is local, and each course was flavorful and delicious. The wine pairing was amazing. The wines paired well with each course. The staff were all very friendly and fun!

Andy Haley speaks so highly of this place, but for us it is okay only. Worth a visit but won’t return again.

Both food and service were professional but the ambiance was more like a dining Hall than a restaurant with a £105 price tag for dinner. And if you are a sensory person like me, you will be disappointed because there is no enticing aroma of food that will trigger your desire to eat.

Great dining experience. It is like a culinary show with the kitchen as the star on center stage. The food was phenomenal. We were comfortably full after the tasting menu (without the cheese board). The dishes were fresh, tasty, and experimental cooked that I could not begin to figure out how it was cooked in such a way. I loved it and would recommend the experience.

We heard a lot of good reviews before going to Hedone to try their Sunday brunch menu, but we were a bit disappointed. The service, interior and ambience were great but the food was not as good as what we expected. The homemade Pissaladiere, confit duck salad and the dessert were quite impressive but the burger (we tried both beef and guinea fowl) , which we had a high expectation for, turned out to be just OK.

Delicious food, full of flavour and using exquisite ingredients. Service friendly without being overbearing. More non-alcoholic drinks would be a bonus for non-drinkers!

This was my 4th time visiting but it was 5 years since last time.
Went with friend who went with first time we had great experiences then. The food was all lovely especially the mains,we ordered extra course.Although supposed to be added on instead of 7 courses we should have got 8,we missed scallops which other tables were getting. We were not sure then but surely by mistake.
Although the food was good but we felt the pricing both food and drinks are much more over priced. It was double the price compared to usd to be but the food quality was much better years ago, even we had more drinks. We loved the style that we could choose different menus instead of one set menu. There are many places with the half prices with this quality therefore we were disappointed.
We had lovely reunion and wedding celebration dinner time though.

There were a lot of children there during brunch time so the restaurant was very crowded and noisy. The children were running around the waiters didn’t ask the parents to take care of their children. The food was good but served very slowly. The timing from dish to dish is not good and there were only two waiters for the whole restaurant.

Hedone is a small, comfortable but elegant space. As solo diner I had a bar stool seat that overlooked kitchen, which I enjoyed. After a fairly long wait in my seat before anything happened (water, menu, any kind of attention), service was efficient if a bit impersonal and rushed.
As for the food -not much to criticise, nor much to rave about. Umami flan with red pepper coulis- nice enough. Three ravioli filled with chicken stock- yum. White asparagus with hay smoked hollandaise- great sauce but washed out by bland asparagus. Perhaps not quite the season yet? Juniper-smoked Salmon, sorrel sauce (trademark acidity barely noticeable) and beetroot- OK, but a long way from greatness. A pre-dessert of rhubarb sorbet with lemon meringues, intriguingly with a wine pairing of its own- nice, but no better or more interesting than one I could have made at home. Only main course and dessert stood out as memorable and delicious: double lamb chops were meltingly tender and full of flavour, accompanied by a great carrot-apricot combo. Dessert featured an intriguing chocolate coated mousse pillow with gentle coffee and yuzu flavours, a sprinkle of cacao nibs and a teaspoon of red miso ice cream- a brilliant combination that confused and excited the taste buds.
My "classic" (cheapskate) wine pairing was great- three fantastic whites, two wonderful sweet wines, and a pinot noir with the lamb that was a little underpowered and youthful for my taste, but then I'm not a connoisseur.
On the whole, it's been a perfectly nice dinner but not really the memorable experience I hoped for. I can't afford to have Michelin-starred dinners often, so when I splash out this much I hope for "wow", not "perfectly nice".

An odd experience. Obviously Hedone have the ability to produce interesting food and from historical reviews they have a place within the upmarket restaurant trade.

However, I came away from my dinner feeling like they were cutting corners on dishes (they only serve a tasting menu) to drive maximum profitability. One course is a salad for instance, you can pay £35 pp to improve the dish by adding tuffles, although on its own it is a salad no more enticing or tasteful than a high street eatery. We did elect to have truffles on the pasta course although sadly the truffles had very little flavour (or the dish failed out bring their flavour - taste was flat nevertheless).

In short, we spent c£400 and I can think of more than a dozen other restaurants where that level of expenditure would have me walking away with a memorable experience ( rather than a look of bemusement).

Hedone fully merits is standing in the "next 50" in the list of the World's Best 50 Restaurants - with the implied ranking of 6th best restaurant in the UK. From its modest premises in Chiswick, it delivers awesome food, every mouthful to be savoured and appreciated, and service that simultaneously manages to be understated, personal, charming and flawless. It has become our destination of choice whenever we have a something special to celebrate.

My one star rating is perhaps a little miserly but I hold Michelin-starred restaurants with this reputation (and price) to a high comparative standard. Assuming you drink alcohol you cannot get out of this place for less than 250 GBP a head. From the outset I couldn't get over the feeling that we should somehow feel "privileged" for eating there, but the food (and service) while well presented lacked flavour and was not at all memorable. Spacing of courses was leisurely to the point of boredom - 4 hours to complete the meal. Lamb main course was bland and so chewy as to be inedible (the staff didn't seem to care). I was watching and no way the courses were "designed" for each table. On this showing I will not go back and I'll be surprised if Hedone retains its Michelin star into 2020.

Absolutely stunning! 4th time I’ve been and each time it gets better and better. Standout dishes were a crab starter with a layer of jelly and custard and a veal sweetbread dish which we all described as “the perfect plate of good”. Best restaurant in London.

It was our second visit and I wasn’t aware of the ‘only tasting menu “experience”’ until we got there.
Companion is allergic to nuts and shellfish, and for that reason there were few different courses comparing to our neighbors.
Venison dish was fabulous and so was the sole.
Sadly few courses were underwhelming for a £300+ bill.

I always find it a special occasion to eat at Hedone.. the tasting menu is delicious and eclectic.
Service is wonderful and unobtrusive. Wouldn't call it quick though-- but then again, the food is being prepared individually... I love and admire this restaurant.

Satisfied, but the location is really far away from the city centre. Environment, service and food are all good, but is not really worthy to go so far for this. My friend and I did not really enjoy the pigeon dish which was not fully cooked and just felt a bit too red to eat.

The evening started with a large truffle being put on the table. None of the staff ascertained whether we liked truffle but proceeded to try and flog is some at an extra £40!! We waited a long time for the meat course and when it came the sauce was congealed and the food lukewarm at best. A real disappointment

Avoid. No ambience, tasteless food, uncomfortable chairs, lighting that feels like your under the lights at Wembley. A clear example of a restaurant designed by someone with no design finesse and food created by someone with no tastebuds. There are many exceptional London restaurants....this is not one of those.

Far too expensive for the food/dishes offered. We've been offered an extra cheese plate and an extra glass of wine that cost over £100.- for two...
For a tasting menu and the classical pairing wine then cheese, it costed £560.- for two which is far too expensive for the none very explorative, developed dishes, very safe and not that British...very disappointing to be honest.
