Spice It Up: Explore Watford restaurants

I am not sure where the error lay, but we arrived a little after 11am for an 11am booking to find that ASK only opens at midday. One of the staff saw us at the door and informed us of this but, on seeing our booking on Opentable, agreed to let us in, and to have soft drinks while they fired up the pizza oven. Because we were on a tight timeline and had 2 children in tow, their flexibility and attention to getting food to us meant that we were able to even have desserts before our 8min drive to Warner Bros Studios. A big thank you to the team at ASK Watford for helping us out, and providing lovely food (and an extra lolly!) MoreOpenTable Diner -
Indian restaurant is a combination of subtle tastes. Flavours are as varied as the climate of India. and as exotic as the people. Fragrant and warm spices from the four corners of the country are delicately blended in meticulous proportions to create the dishes we present to you. Each dish will have its own distinctive flavour and aroma which cannot come from any curry powder. but from spices which have to separately prepared each day for each individual dish. We are located in Watford and only 10 min walking distance from Leavesden Studios ‘the birthplace of Harry Potter on screen’. Best Indian restaurant in Watford.
The traditional interior, with crisp white tablecloths, dark wooden chairs and white walls decorated with Indian wooden carvings and artworks, is busy with couples and groups in the evenings.
Our food was delicious and the service was good. The restaurant was extremely busy but the atmosphere was great . Mexican sombreros , music and cocktails with an up beat happy crowd. The staff were dressed up for Halloween with very theatrical costumes. We all had a great night . MoreOpenTable Diner -
8 of us attended a reservation for 10 upstairs. Even on an extremely busy Friday night, the staff were very friendly and handled the pressure well. The kitchen did a superb job with our order (I've had less impressive meals here on quiet nights with a party of just 3), it must have been tricky enough to serve up 8 together in good order, let alone on a packed out night. Thanks very much to all the staff for their efforts, we had a great evening that was very much needed! MoreOpenTable Diner -
I really enjoyed my evening, food , venue and staff were wonderful. What sullied my experience was; having had a really nice evening with good friends, arriving home I received an email, chastising me for not making my reservation, I was told that you took a 'hit' when people of my ilk did not bother to turn up. Appalled, I wrote back immediately, explaining that I had made my reservation. I got up early the next day at 6.00 am to receive another offensive email, stating that I could not respond to the first one but could I take the time to explain why I did not make my reservation. I responded to that too. Then I got another email asking for feedback which I am responding to now. I think you should review your data collecting system. I know plenty of people who would happily book 5 restaurants for one evening and just go to the one that suited them best. They would not care less about your cutting emails. I however have never not made a reservation without informing the restaurant in question, and find your emails offensive. Should I return to your restaurant I will make sure I get some assurance from a member of your staff, that I am indeed present and I will not receive any offensive email to the contrary. The Prince of Bengal is a very decent curry house but it needs to decide if it wants to be a restaurant or a take-away / delivery place. The food was good but the service was so slow. I would have been served much quicker if I'd come in for a take away. Not good enough on this occasion MoreOpenTable Diner -
I am not sure Trip advisor's recommendation that this was one of the top restaurants in Watford as its only been open a few months. Great value and the staff were lovely but I think I was expecting something a bit different to what was described as it was a special birthday and I thought it was family run Italian. We did have a nice evening however although the menu was more for families/ outings when you are looking for a good variety menu and good value for money. I hope its a success for them as its a new venture. MoreOpenTable Diner -
