Very friendly people who catered to our requirements- much appreciated!
Superb food and a lovely choice of good wines. Service was very good too. Would definitely recommend
Great location, with amazing views but just tucked away enough to not be super busy. Food was delicious and steak was easily the best I've had in London so far. Service was equally great. Definitely recommend.
Although very quiet, we enjoyed perfect food and great unobtrusive service. The steaks were lovely and perfectly cooked. And the cheese you chose for us was a wonderful selection. Will be back.
I visit High Timber two or three times a year. It has a good location, is friendly, relaxed, serves good food but I wish it was a little warmer. I can understand in summer when the doors are open that it can sometimes get cool with a wind off the water, but in winter a little more heat would make the experience more enjoyable. At my table during the last visit we all ended up putting on our jumpers.
Great service and attentive staff.
Excellent food/wine. Nice service. Worth a visit.
Terrible worst steak I have ever had, left 3/4 of it, not the cut that was on the menu and tasted awful. Very poor quality meat. Sides were over seasoned and dull.
It was raining outside, but had a fabulous night with friends. One of our number was South African but been back once in 50 years. Food was fabulous, Sparklehorse was great as always. !!! I'll be back soon.
Lovely South African restaurant on the river! The steak and malva pudding were both great, along with the extensive wine selection.
Felt like a place that is past its best. We were not there at a busy time but no atmosphere and staff walked round like they had nothing to do - one waitress walked amongst the tables whilst talking on her phone!
Had dinner at HT with a colleague on Tuesday night, food and wine was excellent and Neleen in good form
This is an excellent restaurant - the fillet steaks were superb and a selection of delicious veg to compliment
It’s a little hard to find first time but well worth the hunt!
If you like South Africa you will love Jordan’s Wine Estate - we had a brilliant time there
Not a very busy evening which meant it was quiet and not much atmosphere but the up side was that the service was impeccable!
Steak was one of the best I have ever had and very reasonably priced - would certainly go back and recommend!
I couldn't believe how cheap the meal was compared to the service and atmosphere
Lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Waiters attentive but also let you enjoy your meal. We enjoyed some of the juiciest steaks I've ever eaten. Had a glass of house red, which wasn't to my taste. The Chenin blanc white was however very good. Thank you
Superb steak. Awesome wine list and fantastic service! Always a pleasure
Wonderful food. It was a little quiet when we arrived at 7pm but once it reached 8pm there were more full tables and so the atmosphere was better. The service was very attentive throughout the meal.
Lovely quiet spot on the banks of the Thames where you can actually have a conversation. We have been going to High Timber since it opened about 10 years ago. The wine list is terrific. While they have a large collection of South African wines, they also have a very good selection from other areas as well. They specialized in beef, with a number of cuts available. We had the special Chateaubriand, perfectly cooked. I would say it is a perfect place for a date, or dinner with friends, or business meal, as you can hear your dining companions! You can also book to have private events in the wine room or wine cellar - fun experience. The staff and owners are very charming. Enjoy!
High Timber is a lovely restaurant in a fantastic location along the Thames. The interior has a relaxed laid back atmosphere that I feel encourages a night of quiet conversation and is a fantastic way to begin a night out in London. The food was delicious and arrived in a timely manner, my only minor compliant is that the food portion size seemed a little bit small. It should be noted however that I have a very large appetite and my girlfriend who was dining with me was perfectly satisfied with the meal. I would like to thank the staff at High Timber as the service we received was impeccable and made for a thoroughly enjoyable dinning experience. I would recommend High Timber to anyone and as a parting comment I would like to thank the staff once again for making my girlfriends birthday dinner a exceptionally enjoyable experience.
The food, view, ambiance and atmosphere were all delightful.
Very good steak. All the starters and mains we ordered were very good. Drinks, desert, decor all enjoyable. Helpful, knowledgable and friendly staff
Great staff good food on a wet and windy nught. Good atmosphere in a very pleasant restaurant
Good as ever. Tried the sirloin tagliata for the first time. Yum.
Great lunch menu fantastic South African wine list
The welcome felt genuine, the atmosphere was good and despite being busy attentive but not overly attentive.
Awesome steak, chips and house wine for £20 lunch time deal. Fantastic value for money, cooked to perfection, served with attentive customer service. What else could you ask for?!! I definitely recommend without any hesitation. Hint: look for St Paul street right on the Thames as finding it was a bit tricky but for us, a couple of locals pointed the way😊
Highly recommended! The Friday night steak special is worth every penny and was DELICIOUS! Our compliments to the chef and staff. Looking forward to our next visit!
great wine list and exceptional food. we were fortunate to sit outside because of the weather and this place is tucked nicely out of the way. it's a great spot
Good as ever and at its best on a sunny evening out on the terrace. Tried the smoked salmon for the first time; excellent and the rooibos tea flavour is detectably novel. Steak same as ever and I've made enough (positive) comments about that in the past; I'm a creature of habit. Expensive, but not in comparison to the few other places that deliver steak this fine. And much of my bill as always was a bottle of South Africa's finest, which again, you won't drink cheaper anywhere else.
It was OK. Service was a bit uneven, and the fish of the day OK. The biltong was good.
Great welcome, great food, great wine recommendations. Fun place for a summer lunch on the banks of The Thames.
Great food and wine outside-limited menu but what they do is very good
Tender and tasty steak special and delicious Jordan wine. The Chardonnay we ordered could have been older, but the waiter gave us an ice bucket which helped to chill the bottle.
Food was average, nothing special. Didn’t justify the inflated prices.
Service was very muted. The manager didn’t engage us at all whilst at the table. Never asked even the basic “How was the meal?”.
Not nice enough for a special occasion and not priced appropriately for a casual meal.
Really good food great selection of wine it is true hidden gem
Absolutely amazing food, wine, setting, and service! Couldn’t recommend more!
Good quality food, wine and service next to the river. Relaxing ambience - hidden gem.
Food was excellent, location (with doors open on a sunny day) was great, but service was very slow and it was not especially busy. The toilets were either out of order or not very pleasant. A mixed bag really.
