went for lunch on a Saturday. Not a huge menu selection (when you read online its difficult to work out what menu is for when), but what is served on the menu is top notch. Would definately go back.
A great experience, starting in the downstairs bar where we had 2 very good cocktails. We went up to dine and the food was just amazing! The waiters were very polite and aiming to provide us the best experience. We will definitely come back.
Excellent food, lovely staff and nice atmosphere. Only gripe is I'm sure you didn't have to pay extra for chips & sauces with your steak.
Tasty food although slow service,
had to chase To order for drinks and the bill.
Fantastic service great food and a rib on the bone cooked to perfection. Skye and the team were attentive and very welcoming. Thanks so much for a great experience, look forward to returning. Thank you!
Nice food, good service, reasonable cocktails and a good ambience
Great food. Excellent service. Highly recommended to all others looking for excellent Sunday roast
Really lovely Sunday lunch. Not bad value and the food was excellent. The service was also friendly and didn’t feel like there was pushy up selling. Will definitely go back
I had a fantastic meal here on Friday evening. My steak arrived slightly overcooked but the supervisor replaced it immediately and couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy. The service and food here is excellent and I will be returning.
Poor food, poor service and frankly no better than a harvester
Nice venue with good value offer through timeout. Steak was a bit tough but the starters and sides were pleasant. Wouldn’t hurry back to pay full price but good evening with nice service
One of the best examples of unexpected and outstanding service I've ever received (and I'm nearly 70)
Very nice, friendly staff and amazing food, chicken lovers paradise
Lovely restaurant very close to London Bridge. Great setting and decor and lovely ambience inside. Very good food and portions which came quickly however other service was very slow and a little abrupt from the waiter. I would definitely go back to try other things on the menu.
As always an amazing place to take friends and amazing experience incredible food and fabulous service thank you ever so much look forward to coming back
This restaurant is very lively and maybe a bit too lively. The noise level makes conversation very difficult and attracting staff was quite hard as well.
loved this place! Buzzing, but not overwhelmingly noisy. We went at lunchtime on Sunday so there were children and birthday tables and jollity all round. Also delicious food, which helps...
The restaurant is a nice space, lovely decor, plenty of seating and felt very comfortable. The service was excellent, they couldn’t have done much more for us while we were there! We enjoyed our food however for some of the dishes I think you may need to have an open mind. I’d recommend the sharing dessert (salted caramel fondue) to anyone that goes here, the marshmallows and doughnuts were amazing. Also if you’re into cocktails, Sloe Jam is a must!
Excellent food with generous portion sizes probably could have shared the half buttermilk fried chicken main. The half roast chicken was also first class
The icing on the cake was that the staff packaged up the chicken for you to take away and gave you a receipe card to use the carcuss and left over chicken to make a soup at home; great touch
Drinks also reasonably priced
Only downside was that the restaurant didn't log our arrival with Open Table and on way home Open Table send out a no show email. But to be fair once I confirmed that we had been there I believe the matter is now resolved
Love the staff and the food. The whole vibe is great in there. A touch more expensive than I would want but I guess you pay for the atmosphere etc.
Good menu, would have been nice to have some Oysters for starters, but these are served at the excellent Hix Restaurant over at Smithfield. Would go again, the oyster ale and IPA very good.
Large restaurant and space, however feel intimate. Great menu, I could have chosen 99% of items, very hard to choose. I had korean chicken and ox cheek croquettes to start, both outstanding. Hix signature roast chicken and chips, which was very nice I must say, but stuffing let the dish down. Great service and value for money, would easily return
I had three main reasons for choosing this restaurant over the thousands of others in London - a) I wanted somewhere with high-end quality food (which the Mark Nix name almost certainly guarantees) that was also b) relatively modest in terms of price and c) family-friendly with a children's menu as we had our girls aged 9 and 11 with us (as it happened, they both ordered off the main menu - that was the budget blown!) Hixter delivered in spades.
There is a relaxed informality about this restaurant, and a lot of confidence too. The waiting staff were attentive, friendly and helpful throughout and were able to tailor certain aspects of the dishes for our kids' tastes. For starters, we just all shared the three 'snack'/nibble items on the menu and all packed a punch of flavour. Our steaks were enormous and cooked to perfection; the accompaniments (additional in price) were also delicious. Our 9 year old enjoyed her 'Mac and Cheese' (a dish off the full starter menu) immensely while our 11 year old had the buttermilk fried chicken burger and confirmed it was one of the tastiest things she'd ever eaten.
But it was the shared desserts which really bowled us over. The salted caramel fondue with marshmallows and the most amazing doughnuts was simply the tastiest, most indulgent thing ever. We had ice cream and sorbets too, which were a great palate cleanser to the almost-painfully sweet caramel dessert. It was a joy. There was also a special surprise treat for my partner too, whose birthday we were celebrating that night.
All in all, this is a lovely place with great food, great service, lovely atmosphere even if it wasn't bustling at the time we ate and an assurance about it. Highly recommended.
AMAZING ! What a great experience !
Great restaurant! Love the kids under 10 go free - feels generous. Nice atmosphere. Food cooked really well.
Keen to go back!
Amazing food! The service we received on New Years Eve was excellent and we can't wait to return.
Really good food and great service
Booked for closeness to theater venue and we were very pleasantly surprised. Interesting decor (especially the toilets!) excellent service at reception and from Mike. menu was interesting and the choices were all enjoyed by the four of us. A prawn burger was a first for me.
We were two families so benefitted from the kids eat free. We all enjoyed the food high quality and the ambience. Just loved it
Great place near the Tate art museum. Great food and good atmosphere. Really enjoyed our meal!
Fantastic service from all staff we encountered from reception onwards. Very good food, wine list lacking but well priced. We went for dinner but imagine awesome for Sunday Lunch. Will return
Excellent British food and very generous plates. Great place near to Tate Modern.
Christmas with Family
Food was excellent but service lacking. We had to pour our own wine, the side orders had to be asked for twice and the basement bar was understaffed
Saying that, when we complained, the gentleman offered his apologies and gave us a free round of drinks and took something from the bill. Good response!
The fried chicken was dry. And kid menus too expensive for the quality and quantity.
Great restaurant - unusual menu - lots of choice - quick food - and great service - I am a regular and keep coming back for more!
Nice place, good service, but the food was very disappointing. We had a bottomless brunch and the prosecco was plentiful and delicious but not so the food. Very poor. We would have said something at the time but we were on a day out and having a good time, so we let it go.
Service at bar very slow – drinks were given for free because the wait was so long. Otherwise staff really helpful and beautiful restaurant!
Drinks were late, service was confused, one of our party had v dry chicken (however 3/5 had excellent food, the steak particularly was lovely).
The decor seemed dated and we all found the naked women and sexualised wallpaper in the loos a bit macho/ odd/ dated.
For the experience above the price tag seemed a bit high.
We had a pleasant enough time but won’t be coming back.
Great place, new us by name within minutes and could not fault the service, absolutely superb
