Great place for lunch with friends, not ideal for vegetarians if you don’t eat fish but all the dishes were delicious, truffled chips worth making a visit for!
Lovely Sunday brunch here. Great food and atmosphere. The restaurant were very accomodating with our advance request to fit a pram next to the table. The beef Sunday roast was delicious!
Overall we really liked the restaurant, it had a great atmosphere and we had a good table, especially as we had a child with us who needed more space. However, we were a little bit let down by the food - whilst the chicken was fantastic, the burgers were really disappointing and sadly looked like something you could make at home. Staff were very accommodating on the whole.
This has to be one of our favourite restaurants in London. The staff are incredible. Professional, friendly, tentative and welcoming . The ambience is fantastic and the food and drinks are exceptional. It’s great value for money and we can’t wait to return for the weekend brunch. Thank you Mariusz, Aaron and team for making our evening - your passion and energy is infectious and your customer service skills are second to none.
This place just never fails to deliver. Great food, authentic personable service and a very sensible price for what is excellent cuisine. It’s no surprise that I keep coming back - it is always a delightful experience delivered by a professional team who clearly love what they do. Can I give it 6 stars? It certainly deserves it
amazing decor and vibe, the bar was perfect for pre diner relax. Value questionable but wouldn’t be an every week visit I guess
Food is was fine and nice enough. Ambience was strange, no background music so the start of the night was spent feeling like we were sat in a big school hall! Service was a bit hit and miss, mostly friendly but not always attentive. At the end of the meal when we presented our code app and it came to paying the server seemed a little miffed by it. All in all it was fine but won’t be rushing back.
Food was just standard, nothing incredible but got the job done.
Never fails to deliver. Great for dinner or just a drink.
Decided to head to Hixter Bankside, as much because of its proximity to our location at Tate Modern as anything else. I have dined in Hix establishments before so knew we would get a good meal. To be honest our expectations were exceeded. Great service, relaxed vibe and simple cuisine done well.
Very noisy in the evening service; lunch time is much quieter! But the food was good as always.
A warm welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. Staff were outstanding and the ambience was stop on. The children’s menu was really good however the online menu stated children under 10 eat free at the time we dined if adults ordered from the a la crate menu. We were charged for their meals. I had squid for starters. This required a dipping sauce as was very dry. The Indian Rock chicken was superb. The sides were okay. My children were back and forth to the toilet as they were amused by the questionable wallpaper in the cubicles. This is a must see...
Great place... food, cocktails and service were all great. Staff really attentive in a relaxed manner despite being a busy Friday night.
Informal decor set in a large dinning room which added to the buzz with a nice bar downstairs for pre or post dinner drinks.
The staff at hixster we’re fab! Very attentive and made our evening enjoyable! Food was tasty too! X
Waiter was not as professional as I'd expect. Food was average. The restauarnt was quiet and lacking in atmosphere.
Great food, great staff and competitively priced. A regular haunt as we know that we will get a warm welcome and excellent food.
Lovely food, excellent service, they went above & beyond.
This is one of my favourite places. This was a business lunch, and it was just as perfect as it has been when I have been there for a lazy lunch with friends or for a special birthday. It never fails. Thanks as always to the whole team for such a great experience
Not impressed, had to wait for waiter to attend to our table, steak was overdone, no thrills I’m afraid for 80 quid spent. Won’t be back.
Good Sunday Lunch. I had the chicken which was presented on a wooden board. Have had better but have had a lot worse. Personally could have done with a larger pot of gravy, but I am sure they would have given more if asked as there was always a waiter near by. Partner had cod & she said it was very nice. Fair price for location.
Went for lunch we have enjoyed other hix restaurants. Disappointed with this one poor service meals were wrong some food ordered not brought out. Some staff didn't seem very interested. Decor nice lovely big restaurant nice food, free childrens meal with adult meal very good value. Crayons and colouring pictures given to children. Shame about service.
We went with a party of 6 including 2 children as Hixter has a children's menu. Food service was quick but overall service a little on the slow side. The food was excellent and the interior of the restaurant is very nice. However for a restaurant that serves a children's menu (and there were a lot of children present When We went), the wallpaper and animated display in the ladies bathroom is inappropriate. Please see photos. I think that is very disappointing.
Food was amazing and a lovely restaurant. Service was bizarre they seemed very confused half the time!
Had a lovely meal here Friday evening, cocktails in the bar before dinner were great, the restaurant is big and open which is nice, food was tasty and service really friendly and helpful.
Good atmosphere and service
Would recommend without hesitation. One of the best restaurants in the area. We will be back next time we are in town. Good food, good service, ambiance and fair prices.
We had a nice meal for a reasonable price, but the service was rushed and not very personal. Nice interior but the noise did bother us.
Good food, excellent service. Noisy in main room due to hard surfaces and loud conversations. Nice design.
Great food and service, got to love the chicken for two!
Just a bit disappointed that the first few bottles of wine we ordered were not in stock but waitress was lovely
Really nice staff, nothing was too much trouble and they kept our glasses topped up the whole time. The food was really good, well cooked and good size portions. Would definitely recommend the bottomless brunch.
The chicken burger is absolutely gorgeous, can’t wait to go back & have it again! The chicken crackling kid also really tasty!
Always enjoy the food at Hixter but the service is a bit sluggish. First drinks always take too long and then hard to get the waiting staffs attention there on. I like the relaxed atmosphere but the service is just a tad too relaxed.
miserable waitress - slamming down plates, unsmiling etc. - no reason - like that from the start ?
Attentive service, broad and challenging menu. Reasonable value.
Great - food was wonderful
Excellent food, in particular the buttermilk fried chicken. Very good waiter in restaurant. Service in bar wasn’t great — took a long time to get served.
We have been many time before and have great meals, most our visits are for your Sunday roasts, so I would still recommend. I had friends visiting London so choose the restaurant, the steaks had quite a lot of sinew and fat on them. Also we were not asked about if we wanted peppercorn sauce on it, which I guess was our fault. We found it difficult to chat because of the acoustic, if it was just me and my partner I don’t think it would of been a massive problem but it’s the first time he was meeting my friends. It the main reason we didn’t have starters or pudding as we wanted to go somewhere we could talk.
Excellent food, service and ambiance as always. Will continue to return for their Indian Rock Chicken, which in my opinion is the ultimate roast chicken!
Great staff and super porterhouse..
Great end to working week.
