High quality food & service to match. Good range of drinks served by knowledgeable staff
Lovely food but service was a bit mixed, similar to a previous experience. Not all staff knowledgable about allergy requirements.
Food was great but service was lacking for a restaurant of this standard. Timings were inconsistent, left with dirty plates for a long time after starters and waiter was unfamiliar with wine list etc - not the end of the world but disappointing for a restaurant at this level
We went with kids and they were just amazing. Had everything set up for us. Did a cake for the birthday boys. They couldn't do enough. Such nice people. Food was excellent.
Went for my birthday. Lovely food. Lovey wine and the staff were wonderful. Even brought me a little chocolate birthday surprise. Will definitely go back.
Seemed like they tried to justify bumped up prices for poorly thought through and executed dishes. Overly awkwardly attentive staff. Didn't seem like the owners, managers or staff had any experience in restaurants and food and I don't mean that in a snobby way - like a cafe or greasy spoon would be more in touch.... a shame.
Very nice food, good service. Overall, nice meal. Would definitely go again.
Highly recommended, service, food, staff outstanding, and a free cocktail to start!
Fantastic Sunday lunch, one of the best I ha e had
It was out first time at Hixters and it is honestly amazing!! Food and service were out of this world.
To find a child friendly restaurant serving seriously decent food but without the normal vibe of a ‘child friendly’ restaurant is a tall order. On Father’s Day we walked into Hixter Bankside and had the uncommon experience of both children and adults being delighted by the experience. It feels like a place you’d eat without small children in tow, but welcomed and accommodates them so it feels natural and easy to enjoy a meal together. The mix of families, couples, small children and young professionals sharing the dining room whilst we were there clearly shows the management team know how to appeal to a wide mix of diners.
The staff had a lovely casual and friendly (but professional) way even when our toddler created her own waterfall. Spills and thrown cutlery were swiftly picked up with a smile an without anything having to be asked for.
We tested out the much fanfared chicken which was outstanding. The children delighted in the serving of claws and the decent children's Portions which were of the same standard as the adults - something that doesn’t always happen. Great to be able to take home the carcasses for soup too - a neat touch.
We arrived at the restaurant and the look and the look and feel was great! Food was a little slow in coming through however it was not this that was what we found to be unacceptable. The portions of the Sunday roast was ridiculous. The portion was half a chicken and I don't believe this portion size was necessary. we ordered 3 portions of the roast and it was a complete waste. At the end of the meal we we asked if there was a sharing option for the one portion and the waiter said yes! Why were we not told this in the first place? What a horrible waste of food as we could see most of the tables were leaving their food as they could not finish the meal.
Excellent service and wonderful menu. Great quality cooking of good ingredients and a very good atmosphere
They were great with our kids. Waiter was attentive and diligently helped us manoeuvre around allergies. Food was generally good. The Chateaubriand was not as tender as expected but tasty.
Ordinary ... poor value
good food, great ambience, slightly surly staff though
Very cool looking restaurant but thought the food and wine were very over priced for the quality. We went on a Monday and it was pretty dead which unfortunately is a problem for atmosphere as the restaurant is so large. Helpful service though
Food and service was such a high standard and would thoroughly recommend!
Absolutely amazing experience! Marius the assistant manager is the most charismatic, enjoyable personality who is proud and so happy to be part of this amazing undertaking of restaurants. The food was superb and very much farm to table and organic, the portions were great, amazing for kids and families and the service was delightful. I don’t think I have ever come across such array of desserts, just delicious and very fun for kids. We will be back anytime.
Our second visit to Hixter, even after 4 week since our previous visit, the staff recognised us and greeted us with a warm hello.
The service was prompt and the food up to standard once more.
We ordered a starter, man course and desert. We ordered the Rib-on-the-bone for two, the waiter even explained to us it would take longer and the reason why, this was great service.
The rib arrived and was cooked to perfection, and was carved at the table.
The red wine selected was excellent and complimented the rib.
Following the main course we just polished of with simple ice creams, must admit one of the best I have eaten.
Overall enjoyable, attentive staff and quality to match.
Brilliant service and delicious food. The ambience is very relaxed and casual. All in all, a fabulous experience
The food was great! However the service was quite slow and we were not huge fans of the cocktails - although we only tried 2 of the very extensive menu so I am sure we would have found far more we would have liked if we had tried more
Eating with children has its challenges and the restaurant was accommodating and the food was also better than it looked.
The service was forced and a little annoying, and for an relatively empty restaurant the acoustics weren’t great, there was a lot of background noise.
It’s an average restaurant that served its purpose.
We had a really enjoyable meal as a family. Delicious food with a relaxed atmosphere. However, given the pornographic wallpaper and picture in the toilets, I have to strongly dispute their claims to be a family-friendly restaurant. My kids being 10, 8 and 4 years old made multiple visits to the loos, I only realised why when I went myself.... too late! Would just be advisable to mention the toilet decor to any guests with your kids as they are seated?
Despite the incredibly stylish decor, this place has a casual atmosphere that means you'll fit in just as well in jeans or a suit. It feels classy but not intimidating and the dining room itself is large and lively. It wasn't jam-packed for a Friday night but suitably populated to assure us we had made a good choice. The menus are easy to navigate and boast a good selection of reasonably-priced, high-quality food. There's a lot to choose from drinks-wise too. It was a date night for us and, despite being on a two-person table adjacent to other couples, we weren't overlooked or crammed in together so, for a large dining room, it was suitably intimate. That said, this would equally suit larger groups who want to dine well and relax.
Loved the cosy classy vibe in the bar downstairs and then upstairs the restaurant felt open and spacious without overcrowding. Excellent to have a Veggie Vegan menu that was delicious and filling too!
Final bill for three was £205 which included two pre-cooked and cooled asparagus starters, one mushroom-on-toast starter and two aubergine veggie main courses. Just about OK if the cooking had been on point. Sadly it was an expensive disappointment. My advice? Go to Caravan next door.
Great restaurant setting busy, noisy ambience. Good service from knowledge friendly staff. Wine prices a little steep but good selection. Simple menu well performed.
The food was fine, nothing to write home about. The drinks we had were great! Lovely atmosphere. Great place to hang out. It wasn't dead and I could hear everyone on my table. I'd go back but probably for just the bar.
Great good, amazing service and overall really enjoyable night!
Great after work bar and ambience. Interesting modern menu
We were there for our 1-yr Anniversary. Everything was fantastic!!! We will definitely be back in on our next visit to London.
An amazing place for a special occasion friends were returning to Ireland and had an incredible experience at Hickste
Service was pretty slow even though it was pretty empty.
Food was ok, nothing to write home about.
Fantastisch eten en geweldige sfeer. Ga hier naartoe om te genieten van de nieuwe Britse keuken.
Excellent food, excellent service, great wine list. Will return!
Great menu and service. Came for bottomless Sunday lunch and was very impressed.
Great service, felt really taken care of, great for family’s and friends to grab a brunch and catch up
Amazing restaurant for groups. Food and atmosphere were both perfect. The bar downstairs was really cool too. Would definitely recommend for groups
Extraordinary service making you feel like you’re at a home from home. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere with great food and drinks. Will definitely be back
