I love eating the Hoi Polloi. I love the decor, It's glamorous and very accommodating.
Good service and thoughtful arrangements. Thank you so much for helping us to celebrate my mum's birthday!
Lovely afternoon tea, great service and fantastic value. Highly recommend!
I love this place. Lovely ambiance and food - the food is fantastic !
The food arrived before the drinks which is always disappointing. One of the drinks was wrong but by this point we didn't bother changing it. The waiter was lovely.
great experience great vibe
Lovely atmosphere and really nice food. The waiter was very attentive offering advice and helping to choose cocktails
Food was amazing and I absolutely loved the music by the Hoi Polloi String Quartet!
Will be coming back!
Great food but really poor service. The waiters dont speak!!
Amazing brunch and absolutely loved the string quartet.
I have been before and loved it.
I brought my boyfriend and friend for breakfast and the food was lack lustre....
The two of us who had poached eggs with corn cakes....
The eggs and avocado was yummy but the corn cakes were very dry and dense...
Saflu didn’t feel as special as the surroundings.
Food is great and arrives quickly. We went for a birthday and a lovely treat was brought out for the birthday girls. It was a quiet service so we werent rushed out of our booth. Staff were all attentive and friendly. We will be back.
I love Hoi Polloi, food and service are great and so is the ambience apart from weekend brunch when they have a string quartet playing covers of songs by the Cure and the Smiths. I love the songs but the quartet is too loud when you are trying to chat to your companions. If they can’t live without the quartet maybe it should be situated at the top of the stairs so there’s a bit of distance and it can be enjoyed as background music. 10/10 for food and service though.
I love it here. Busy for a nice atmosphere but not too busy you can’t talk. Staff are great and the chickens and green bean pie is amazing.
The restaurant is beautifully hidden behind a small florist and opens out into a sleek dining area. The food is excellent, good choice, excellent ingredients and lovely presentation. Our waiter was knowledgeable and available. We had a great night! Lamb is highly recommended.
Great value afternoon tea - all the food was delicious, especially the scones that came with a generous helping of clotted cream. Stylish interiors and great atmosphere, only downside was the service from one of the waiter's was a little brusque and unfriendly.
Otherwise a great experience and would definitely come again.
Brunch with string quartet. Nice vibe.
Went with kids for father day. Good kids menu.
Good food options and nice venue and as good as usual
Nice spot for brunch or coffee. Quite a quiet venue even if busy, which is great, you don't have to shout to hear anyone. On weekends they have live music playing during brunch, which is great. Service is a bit slow at times but it's a big area to cover. Food is great, although they did confuse our orders completely last time (french toast and mushrooms? a bit weird). Overall recommend!
Delicious and quiet enough that you can actually have a conversation with people.
Hoi Polloi is like floating on a heavenly brunch cloud over Shoreditch, most likely hangover.
The pancakes... trust me
Great food and atmosphere. Service a little slow at times
Great food as usual, but we miss the kale salad! Bring it back!
Ambience and staff were lovely, the string quartet was terrific and very relaxing but your alcohol prices are way too expensive.
Great brunch, friendly service, not the cheapest and at lunchtime on a Friday not the most exciting ambience but was the perfect spot for mates chatty gathering!
Nice brasserie with great looking and tasting food, not a huge menu but more than enough to please everyone. Beer selection was though average.
Caring service too!
I really liked the feeling and ambience, different from what I'm used to in busy London. This one was modern and with a bit of retro look which I loved. The mains were really good in taste and presentation but the confit salad left me wanting a bit more of taste. Oyster were good and cocktails great!
Overall, a good place to dine in London for a casual but great atmosphere and food with friends/bf! :)
The food was not as good as it usually is, and the waiter was not attentive to us and took quite a long time to take our order.
The food was amazing the 3 for £25 offering is really good value..Will definitely do again!
Went with a group of friends on a Sunday evening - place was quite dim but very nicely decorated (you are greeted by a little garden upon stepping in). The food was decent - the outstanding dish had to be the kale salad (surprise!). I had the cod which was a very generous portion and well done - but nothing spectacular. One thing we realized was the alarming difficulty in getting the attention of the wait staff here despite the non-crowd! It would be much lovelier if the staff were more attentive to the patrons..
The place got a little more crowded later in the evening. Would probably come back here again for brunch on a weekend, where there is a live harpist.
Such a cute restaurant. Fantastic food, nice service and a string quartet, all for a reasonable price! Very impressed!!
Enter through a florist! (Or the hotel that houses the restaurant). A varied menu and a generous wine list in a casual setting. The food was well presented and cooked. Service was attentive and professional. It did not fall into the hotel trap of unadventurous "international" cuisine.
We also lucked out as a string quartet played throughout our dinner, offering a beautiful selection of arrangements of popular music.
It wasn't busy, so we were able to hold a good conversation too.
We'll be back.
Their ribeye was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Slightly crispy outside, surprisingly tender inside, juicy, perfect. Great sides too.
Brilliant food, brilliant service and amazing location!
My daughter and I had a really lovely evening at Hoi Polloi. Although the restaurant was busy, the noise levels were not intrusive, just a buzz about the place. Both the service and the food were excellent. Happy to recommend and very happy to return.
Great food and ambience. Dog-friendly! The waitress serving us was not so friendly, unfortunately. She did not seem to want to be there and was not friendly. Would still go back for the string quartet, food and atmosphere though!
One of the friendliest and most beautiful dining rooms in London. I love it!
We had afternoon tea late in the afternoon and the restaurant was in the middle of preparations for the night. We were not informed of this in advance or we might have chosen to go somewhere else.
This would have been fine except we were seated in the back of the restaurant where the waiters were having a meeting/were talking/laughing loudly etc. Of course the staff should be allowed to have fun but maybe not in front of the bar.
The food was good, but the waiter seemed a bit tired or uninterested. She was nice though.
Love the brunches and vibe of this place. A Sunday ritual now.
The service was horrible and very unpleasant. Staff behaved like we have no business being there and took forever to take our order.
Perfect way to celebrate a birthday. Delightful altogether
