What Insiders Are Saying
The Holborn Dining Room is a big and grand, but still casual, all day restaurant inside the Rosewood Hotel, serving posh British comfort food.
Gorgeous food and lovely environs to enjoy it - what more could you ask for?!
The food and service was outstanding. I got the pork pie and the pineapple upside down cake. The pastry melts in your mouth and the meat was perfectly seasoned. The cake was covered in warm custard and was rich and sweet. The pineapple was sweet and grilled to perfection. I would happily go again.
Booked for our wedding anniversary. Excellent food and efficient service with a British theme. Pork Pie was delicious. Wine list was a bit pricey.
Great decor and service however my pie was very dry and needed some sort of sauce or gravy.
Overall a great place to eat for a special occasion.
Beautiful food, fantastic service. Would highly recommend.
Excellent evening at Holborn Dining Room. Service was outstanding, food was great. Gin and wine were awesome. Lovely table looking onto the whole restaurant. Menu seems slightly shorter but still plenty of choice. Everything is delicious and the sticky toffee pud is still the best in town
As a regular at the lovely Scarfes bar next door, we finally booked dinner for a special birthday with my family. The ambiance and venue are brilliant but the food and waiting staff don’t match up. We had 6 different people serving us and their recommendations on the menu were not very informative. It was also my partners birthday and the offering of a birthday dessert came as 4 fruit pastels with a candle stuck in it. We laughed at how menial it was in terms of effort for the kitchen and staff, you’d expect something a little more sophisticated.
The food and drinks were incredible! Great portion sizes too!
The staff were welcoming and knowledgable about wine and various drinks for our meals.
It was my mum’s 50th Birthday and having told them, they even came out with a little sweet surprise for her which topped off the evening amazingly!
Have used Holborn Dining Room a lot over the years. But is has become too expensive for the quality of the food it serves. I’ll probably not use it again.
I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. Try and go on Welly Wednesdays when they serve Beef Wellington - it is fantastic! Their savory pies are to die for (and you can also get them for take away at the little shop next door).
Wonderful upbeat establishment. Gin bar with over 270 unique choices and a bartender who will muddle you a delightful treat. The "pies" of course are their specialty, don't miss these delights!
While there are not many breakfast options, they are all good. Slightly overpriced however.
Lovely food and layout, service was very slow at the end. Took as long to get the bill as it did to order, eat and clear plates!
Excellent service, quality of food and centrally located. While the wine / beer / spirit menu was wonderful, our 13 year old daughter felt included when they offered her a non-alcoholic champaign! Enjoyed by our entire party of 5!
Stephan, our waiter, made our breakfast very enjoyable. He was very friendly, funny, and was accommodating to all our needs.
Thank you Stephan!
My favorite restaurant in London. Wonderful food. Amazing cocktails. Great wine list. And a fantastic value.
As ever, HD always deliver a great experience - I’ll be back very soon
Excellent service, drinks and food were unbelievable and the place had a great buzz to it.
Good, only recommendation would be more attention to the taste of the food. Basics are good but the gravy on the Steak and Kidney pudding was exceptionally salty and yet the Chicken and Tarragon Pie could have done with a tiny bit more salt to bring out the flavour more.
Nice ambience and setting. Service was rather slow. Food was decent - i enjoyed my pie a lot though wouldn’t say it’s mind-blowing good.
Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Excellent service. Nothing to fault.
Fantastic selection of gin - best I've seen in London. Food exceĺlent. Service great too. The only really shame - which means I probably won't go back in a hurry- is that the wine is eye wateringly expensive. A glass of Pinot was £17 and I don't think there was any wine less than £50/bottle.
It would have been better to be offered a cafeteria rather than a small cup pre-filled coffee at £4.50 but we were not offered a cafeteria but did see one as we left. There was no butter knife meaning I used the same knife I was eating my breakfast with. These are small points because we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast especially my 12 year old son, waffles, maple syrup and delicious bacon. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient but we didn’t feel rushed. I would book before you go because it’s a hotel it needs to make sure there is enough space for its guests.
Good food. It was fun to explore their collection of gin. Service was a bit sketchy, but the atmosphere was great. Would go back.
Nice food, awesome staff, awesome place!!! Just love it!!!
Nice evening in splendid surroundings- very nice service
My Wide and I had a delicious chicken pie and a tarte tatin. The service is very good and is the restaurant is very well located.
Experience was wonderful the service was fantastic , ythe only reason I can not give completely five out of five was that my cutlery was blunt, eg knife ,The waiter did change it three times, unfortunately by the time I managed to cut my food my steak was cold very disappointed with that, overall everything was really good
Great restaurant in a lovely room. The pies are the thing and that really is what you need to choose. We had the scotch egg to start and it was pretty week perfect. Then followed with the steak and kidne pudding and the pork pie. Both excellent and good accompaniments although the truffle fries wer on the cold side.
Service from the young team is first class and the tables are well spaced.
terrible service - I was brought a dairy coffee twice despite checking that it had been made with dairy-free milk
food was overpriced and not nice - my porridge wasn't cooked and cost me £18!
One of the finest meals my wife and I have ever had, the food was of the highest quality and full of flavour and superbly presented. The service was exactly what you would expect in a restaurant of this quality, our waitress was there whenever we needed her. She had extensive knowledge of the food menu and recommended several very nice gins. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and will certainly booking a table there again.
The food was unbelievable - who knew a scotch egg could taste so good! Overall the meal was a bit more than what we are used to paying for but it was a good treat.
The staff were very attentive to everyone, making sure there was always water on the table and everyone had drinks.
What a wonderful experience!! From the moment we’re greeted from the taxi to the very last sip of espresso. An incredible restaurant, I can’t wait to return.
The main courses we had were excellent apart from the shrimp burger which was dry and tasteless and not worth £19. My sister was actually ill after it. It must have been one that had been lying around for a while. We had fish and chips and the smoked haddock, which were both really good.Service was over attentive to the point where we did not want anyone to come over to us again after a while.
Tasteful and very comfortable decor
If you like pies you will be in pie heaven. The raised pork pie and the steak and kidney pudding were by far the best ever tasted by two pie fanatics!!
Both the food and drink were INCREDIBLE. The service was friendly, and attentive, and the space just beautiful. I felt I'd been transported back in time, to a mythical place where bulbs are bare and seating plush and leather covered, and I would definitely go again.
Holborn Dining Room does the best pie I’ve ever had. But I can’t choose which of their varieties it is. Wednesdays specia is Beef Wellington and it is absolutely glorious.
Elegant dining room, superb service and excellent food.
Loved it all.
Beautiful Victorian dining room, great service, delicious range of British classics (try the pies) and an almost unparalleled selection of quality booze.
