Ordered a drink, took 25 min to get it and it came with a fly sent it back and never got it back. Server came by only in the beginning and end of the meal.
The ceiling was dripping on my table. Literally splashing on the plates
I made a reservation for an anniversary and our table was ready when we walked in 5 min early. No waiting. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant/location to everyone.
They need a lot of work here. The kitchen is poorly managed. The entrees were delivered while we were mid-way through our salads. When a restaurant can not get these basics it is best you avoid it.
Great services, drinks and food
Good food, nice ambiance, but non attentive service. We’ll go again, but hope we get a better waitperson.
slow service, mediocre food, trouble getting refills of drinks, main host was not pleasant but person who sat us was delightful
The restaurant is a little pricey, but they almost always have attractive specials that they promote through their mailing list. But even with a coupon — for example, two pasta or gnocchi entrees for $25 — you’ll still likely pay around $100 after adding in a delicious appetizer, 2 or 3 drinks and a decadent dessert!
The inside is charming, but we prefer the original patio for people-watching the adjacent pathway. It is not at all loud; in fact, I wished they turn up the music just a tad more, as I recognized a smooth, compelling playlist (e.g. Amy Winehouse).
We waited almost 30 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation. The server had a language barrier and it was all downhill from there. She didn’t know the menu and couldn’t describe the items. Two servers later, they finally came up with a good waiter. Then they overcharged us for our meal. Not going to come back here.
Terrible experience. Service was bad and food quality and presentation was not good.
We made a reservation for 5 people. We were sat at a 4 top. When I asked if there was a bigger table we were told no, this is what they had to offer. The waitress was at the table long enough to get a food order. We asked about a cocktail menu and she said she’d return with one. She never came back until the end of the meal. She asked how the food was and we stated that we had wanted to place a drink order but she hadn’t been a where to be found. We also said we would have liked Parmesan with our meal, but being that we were finished it was unnecessary. She’s walked away with a reply of, ok great! That doesn’t even make sense. She wasn’t listening to anything we had to say. We were there for my birthday and will never be back. So disappointed. We felt shunned to a corner because we had brought our children with us. Who mind you sat quietly and were excited to be out celebrating Moms birthday. We were rushed out and completely ignored. The restaurant should be ashamed at how we were treated.
Great lunch spot if your in the mood for Italian food in the Village. Great Sangria and Halibut special. Bread for $2 wow! come on...this should not be charged. Especially in an Italian restaurant. Bread was plain nothing special.
Expensive restaurant that serves good food. My only drawback is to be an up class Italian restaurant they don’t serve complimentary bread. Food was good. Specially the pizzas.
GREAT Service from Juan...delicious food...thank you!
A wonderful evening. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Ambience was comfortably elegant.
Great all around
It’s unfortunate that the restaurant now charges money for bread. Also, we went on our actual wedding anniversary, it would have been nice if they had brought out a dessert. When I asked the waitress, she said maybe I could bring you a scoop of ice cream. I said no thanks.
We were with another couple. Service was perfect. We had appetizers, an entree, and dessert. The food was wonderful. Not any special occasion but definitely memorable.
Delicious, good quality food, great service and excellent prices. Highly recommended.
The food was very good, except the lasagna sauce was too tomato tasting,
not enough meat, garlic or basil. Considering how empty the restaurant was, I would have expected the service to be much better.
Had to ask several times for water, bread and the check.
Always consistent… I’ve been coming to Il Fornaio (different locations) for years😀
The food at Il Fornaio is consistently good. I've eaten at the Woodland Hills and other Los Angeles area locations many times in recent years and have never been disappointed. On the most recent visit we were seated at our request at one of the quieter outside areas. For a while we were the only guests in that area and I wondered if our server might forget us. That was not the case. Anthony checked back with us frequently during our meal. When asked, he made a couple of excellent recommendations.
Place is under staffed. There were 2 hostesses in the front that need to learn how to communicate. They kept looking at each other like they were lost. Way under staffed, our waiter was so sweet but was too busy and took so long to get help. When we opened our silverware it was so dirty with chocolate. We ordered a salad with salmon and seafood pasta which was amazing but portion so small I was still hungry and I'm a small girl. Prices way over-rated for portion sizes.
Top notch service combined with excellent well prepared food. Cant beat it.
Service has really gone down since before the pandemic. Waited about 15 minutes for water. Our soup was cold when it finally came after asking a few times. You pay for your bread now. So sad.
Great service. Excellent food
Food was cold and service not too attentive. I understand it was Mother’s Day but not an excuse for food and service. Maybe will give it another try
Great Food and Drink... and lovely Server:) Try the wine flight! Yummm!
I was very excited to try Il Fornaio after hearing such great things. It was a huge disappointment. We told our server we DEFINITELY wanted dessert, asked for VERY little garlic, and both requests were ignored. Big chunks of garlic, and server never returned to get dessert order, have our dirty dishes taken away, or bring the check. I had to get up after 15 minutes of sitting with dirty plates in front of us, and ask for it them to be cleared. The odd part was there was another waiter and helper in our small area with several other diners, and they both came and went many times and just ignored us. Our check would have been well over $100 if she had bothered to come back to order dessert, and we were excited to do the "Tip the check" thing because we hadn't been out in over a year. I did tip 20% but don't think I've ever tipped that little on dinner.
Delicious food and friendly staff
Service wasn’t great. Charging for bread was ridiculous.
Everything else was ok
One my preferred place to eat, especially breakfast. Food is clean and healthy. Service is cordial and elegant
Great arugula salad with couscous. And sparkling conundrum rose. A lunch can’t get much better.
It was very hot and I couldn’t be seated until my other party got there. No water nothing. Finally seated in the sun. When we ordered happy hour we were told that was another patio. We weren’t told that so we had to lock up and move. Waited 20 minutes until someone asked if we had been approached. He ended up taking nice care of us. There were three gals at the hostess stand and no one could explain the happy hour. Very disappointed.
We had an amazing meal with fabulous service! Hadn’t been to Il Fornio in a while and we were so happy with our food and it was warm and cozy! Would go back anytime!
Very pleasant and felt safe outdoors
Excellent service but portion are kind of small for the price. Other than that, great experience.
Nice atmosphere and good food makes for a nice evening dinner.
the food was great and the service was great also. i highly reccommend this place
Always an excellent service and the best food!!
