Indian Lounge offers a sophisticated dining experience suited to the refined palate, especially for those that are seeking to explore beyond the ordinary.
Food was really good when it eventually arrived. After an hour and a half we still hadn't got out starters so we cancelled them and had our mains which were very tasty. Wine was rubbish but Cobras were ice cold. Chris the very camp waiter was fairly amusing at first but it got a little wearing in the end!
Brilliant indian restaurant close to kings cross station. Crispy poppadums, spicy konjee lamb starter was nice and had a kick and lovely chicken Jalfrezi. Very good service too.
Beautiful presented meal, delicious dishes and lovely staff. Staff are quite engaging and made a dish for me that was not listed in the menu (Chicken phal). Wonderful experience and definitely highly recommended! Thumbs up from me!
Chris was great. Food wasn't as good as we thought it would be given the reviews.
Selected due to convenient location adjacent to Kings Cross. Stayed til nearly closing due to great food, service, and fun atmosphere.
Generally in London I find good service equates with average food, but not here! I had to go with my standard curry for the first visit, but will return to try some intriguing menu options. Even the house wine was well-above the quality generally served in most Indian restaurants around town.
I will definitely be back! 🙂
Nice place to eat with friendly staff. Good buzzing atmosphere and they have a nice waterfall feature downstairs. Amazing food and clean toilets. Looking forward to my next visit!
Excellent restaurant in close proximity to kings cross. Fast and efficient service with friendly faces. Seated immediately and drinks order taken quickly. Poppadums arrived with fresh chutney tray. Lamb samosa starter was nicely presented and was tasty. Chicken vindaloo was spicy and bursting with flavour - just the way I like it. Garlic nan and pilau rice were good too. A complimentary shot of amaretto with the bill - can't get any better? A must go if you're around the area.
We ordered three dishes: sag paneer, dal, and chicken tikki masala. The first two were good but the chicken tikki was much more red based than we have ever had before and therefore not what we were used to. I had been salivating in anticipation of a great tikki, so it may have just been our expectations to be fair. Our server ran after us at the street corner to tell us we had not tipped enough. Tipping overseas is all over the place and we usually meet the local custom, but this was a first for us. So this wasn’t a bad experience just different from what
Fabulous service. We were a large group so quite loud but I let them know in advance so we could be sat somewhere separate from other diners. The space downstairs was fab and perfect for our large group.
Nice restaurant, I liked the waterfall feature downstairs.
The food was nice but have to say I’ve had better especially for the London prices.
The waiter was very theatrical if a little over the top, could be bordering on offensive to some people though
Food was delicious. Staff were a pleasure, especially Chris.
Really nice business lunch in relaxed and informal surroundings. Staff were super-friendly and helpful, and food was great quality, with a really imaginative menu, (I'd never had curried cheese before!). Price was what you would expect. A very slight downside was the venue itself looked a little tired, given it is in a location surrounded by glitz and new-poshness, and this place has obviously been here for some time, however it was not so tired as to be a problem or anything like that. Our waiter was particularly friendly and welcoming, and I totally recommend this location to other diners.
Lovely food, very friendly service. Would definitely return, handy if travelling from Kings-cross, very convenient to station.
Good food and service. Nice staff. Kitchen open late, big thumbs up. Like the area. My son, stepson and myself had a pleasant evening.
Great food and great service from Chris our waiter
Very friendly and welcoming. Food was fine, but not exceptional.
We would definitely recommend this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, served by friendly staff and good ambience. We liked the water feature in the downstairs of the restaurant and the Bollywood music in the toilets! Music in the restaurant was restrained so allowed us to have a conversation without having to raise our voices.
Great food and drink served by friendly and approachable waiting staff. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic place. It was busy when I arrived but was seated immediately. The restaurant had a buzzing atmosphere with customers upstairs and downstairs. Drink order was taken quickly and arrived within a minute. The food was delicious with spices at the right level. Friendly and helpful staff that had a smile on their face. Amaretto on the house at the end of the meal which was very nice. Highly recommended.
Fantastic place! Delicious food and service with a big smile. What more do you want. Definitely recommended if around the area.
The worst service and the worst Indian food. When we told the waiter (who was staring down my top) he just said ‘oh well’. Won’t be returning!
One of our party was late but we didn’t feel rushed and we were looked after. Food great and we had a lot of fun. Service very attentive! Thank you!
Overal a good Indian restaurant. Very good food, served promptly, even though restaurant busy. Only complaint is service charge of 15% added without notice and not obvious on bill
Found this on trip advisor and took a punt when the queue for another Indian nearby was massive. Dont regret it one bit and it was close to train station as well.
Had excelent food and Chris the waiter looked after us briliantly and kept us entertained.
Would definately go there again when passing through Kings Cross.
when we arrived i was a little worried as the look of the restuarant upstairs is a bit like the cafe. but downstairs was nicer and then the customer service was good and the food very nice.... dont go by looks alone this place has great food and is friendly.
We were welcomrf by a very friendly and helpful waiter. The food was delicious and menu had ample choice.
Me and my wife loved this place. We were seated immediately after telling the staff we booked a table. The restaurant was fairly busy and got busier as the evening went on. Crispy poppadums arrived with the chutneys. Garlic lounge prawns and spicy konjee lamb were tasty and bursting with flavours. Once we finished the starters, the waiter asked us if we wanted a break or the mains sent out asap which was a nice touch. Chicken shaslick and lamb shatkora were delicious. Reasonable prices, buzzing atmosphere, great food and lovely staff - couldn't be happier.
Brilliant food and friendly service by Chris who is a funny and lovely waiter. He recommended the mango garlic chicken and I throughly enjoyed it with my pilau rice and peshwari nan. Nice decor and loved the lights. I will be back with some friends. Thanks Chris!
Serviceable and unassuming in environment with both casual and regulars. Very busy in early evening and got busier but not uncomfortably so. Staff not specially attentive but the gifts of an amaretto shot and mint chocolate presented with the bill ameliorated this somewhat. Lychee juice was much appreciated. Food good but presentation a little ordinary.
I found this place with friends quite randomly, as another place where we wanted to go was too busy on a Saturday night and didn't take reservations.
Unfortunately, due to the unplanned nature of our choice, I didn't read enough interviews and in hindsight I should have been warier... however, let's move on with the actual review.
The underground floor, where our table was, is fairly tacky with a fake pond and poor lighting.
The prices on the menu seemed reasonable and service seemed very friendly, although he quickly became a tad too friendly. Moreover, there seemed only to be one waiter actually in charge for taking orders, so service was relatively slow.
All food was good, and everyone in our party of 5 enjoyed it.
However what left a bitter and sour memory of that night was the final bill. Handwritten, with the overly cheerful waiter saying once more, after announcing that before we started, that the poppadoms were given for free and adding that there was no service charge added, but with a total value that looked suspiciously high considering the reasonable pricing on the menu.
As we were 2 couples and a friend who hadn't met for a long time, no one really wanted to investigate further but, reading other reviews, if I'll ever get back there, which I doubt, I will ask the waiter to read each line of the bill with an explanation of each single item.
Excellent food, attentive service and nice decor. The place was packed with customers so may have to book in advance. Try the Goan fish curry. I will be back when around kings cross.
Lovely food and great service. An extensive menu with reasonable prices. Chris the host was welcoming and he went around to all tables making sure they are happy. A gem in kings cross and highly recommended. A complimentary amaretto at the end of my meal was a nice touch.
Fanstastic meal with poppadums and drinks arriving quickly. Enjoyed the garlic lounge prawns starter as well as the lamb naga. It was quite busy when I was dining but they have more seating downstairs.
Very average food - in quality and taste
Good food. Friendly service and nice Indian meal for group get together.
Had a great evening here. The food was delicious and there were some unusual dishes....the Potato Basket was, as it said on the menu, a healthy option, served beautifully, and very tasty.
A free bottle of wine was a great touch for bookings of 4 or more.
Service was good.....didn't feel rushed even tho' we managed to stay in the restaurant for 4 hours!
Will definitely come again.
Downstairs would be a quieter, more elegant place to sit but for an after-work get-together, it was fine upstairs.
Very good meal with attentive but not intrusive service. The set meal is excellent value, but menu items do not break the bank.
Food was great. Simple restaurant - not fancy and that was just fine. Enjoyed the meal very much. Very convenient to Kings Cross.
We wanted a restaurant that was near Kings Cross as we were meeting a friend who was passing through London. The restaurant is across the road so very convenient. It was Saturday evening and I had booked but I needn’t have, there were plenty of tables available. We were a group of 5 including two children. The food was good but as the portions were not that generous it was quite expensive. The drinks were expensive, £3 for a mango juice that tasted like it came out of a carton. The waiter was a bit pushy, he asked us whether we wanted a load of side dishes before we had a chance to decide what we wanted. We decided to leave a cash tip and he came and took it before we had left the table. Reasonable food if rather expensive, in a convenient location.
Went on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews but not sure why they were so rapturous. Food was ok, fairly basic indian fare so prices were on the high side for this. Service was barely there and pretty dismissive until the end. It's ok if you just need a quick curry near Kings Cross station as it's just across the road.
