Indigo at One Aldwych
A relaxed and informal restaurant in London’s definitive contemporary hotel One Aldwych, Indigo offers a creative and ever changing British menu, which is entirely gluten and dairy-free.
Crafted by Executive Chef Dominic Teague, the menu showcases inventive dishes focusing on seasonal ingredients, carefully sourced from the British Isles. All food is beautifully prepared and gluten and dairy-free, without compromising on quality ingredients or taste. From quinoa, Jerusalem artichoke, pomegranate and smoked almonds salad, in-house baked samphire bread and Rhug Estate Lamb, these are dishes that stand up on their own.

We had a great time for New Year dinner, all dishes were excellent !
Thank you for you warm welcome !
My son is coeliac so it was a joy to have a menu which was entirely gluten free. Shame it was also dairy free.
Starters were better than the mains but overall the food was good.
Best gluten/dairy free menu I’ve seen, fantastic service, great atmosphere. Really top notch all around.
Very nice venue , great service , higher end restaurant, only issue was starter of scollops was under cooked, they offered replacement which we declined but they deducted it off the bill. Overall a lovely place
Just required a quick evening dinner before going to the theatre. From arrival in the hotel foyer and throughout the meal the staff were great. They took our coats, took the meal order and provided efficient service throughout the meal.
The food was pleasant, I had the beer battered fish and chips that looked very nice but the cod was a little bland.
Nevertheless would be happy to return again in the future.
Fantastic food and great service. If you are looking for a lovely place for a special occasion for gluten free dining, this place is perfect. Strong wine list, great selection of meat, fish and vegetarian/vegan options and good service without being overbearing.
I can definitely recommend this place and look forward to going back when it reopens in Spring - it is closing after Christmas for a makeover!
We had a special offer meal which was delicious and very good value. Service excellent. Ambience congenial- lively but not noisy.
Excellent thanks best gluten restaurant we have been to
I have not been to Indigo for a long time, and I was really disappointed. The service was bad, especially given the restaurant was half empty. We had to ask to be given a menu, ask for a cocktail list, as for a wine list... ask to order. The water (£4 a bottle) we were served was warm - it was being stored on the waiters area just on the side. We sent our white wine (£54) back as it was warm too. Empty glasses were not removed promptly, in the end I put some of them on the floor to clear the table. Food was pleasant enough, but the evening was not great because of all these problems. The final straw was that they failed to give us one of our bags back that was left in the cloakroom and we accidentally left without it - so I have to go back and pick it up today. For £300, I expected much better.
Indigo was absolutely amazing! As someone who requires a gluten free diet i was so happy to find a completely gluten free restaurant that offered a great menu. Everything was fantastic.
Great to have a restaurant where everything is Gluten Free as this is suitable for this with coeliac disease.
Gluten and dairy free menu is excellent, although the desserts were a little 'worthy'.
Lovely food, but strange set up and strangely informal, would have preferred something a little more fine dining
Nice meal, surroundings and service
Great service - efficient and friendly. Super food, very well presented. Prices on the high side, but this is a 5 star hotel!
Disappointing. I went to Indigo for their three-course prix fixe lunch. As gluten-free food goes, I've had better. Everything was just so lackluster. The pheasant was tough. The cake was drenched in syrup. The bread was mediocre.
We came last Saturday night, there were six of us and we were on a coach trip. We had a table booked for 5.30pm but with the traffic problems through London the coach dropped us off just after 6.00pm. We were only able to have one course because we were pushed for time. I can say the staff were absolutely amazing they had our table ready they knew we were in a rush and we didn't have to wait very long before our food came nothing was too much trouble.
We were saying if we had spent more time it would have been fab.
Thank you to all of the staff for accommodating us so well.
We would recommend to anyone.
Great for pre theatre meal. Swift but relaxed service. Food was great and a perfect place for my sister and I to chat before the theatre. Indigo cocktail was included in the fixed price. Great value!
What a very nice surprised. All menu is gluten and diary free. The food was delicious. The value of the lunch price menu is very good. We were 7 of us and everyone loved it. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food and service very good. Everything was gluten-free. We will go again.
Great wine, food and service. Best gluten free bread ever.
Delicious food, attentive wait staff and pre theatre menu is great value
Excellent service, very good food with nice presentation, and comfortable ambiance. An especially good choice for pre or post theater date.
We received a warm welcome & the food & service was amazing. It was really nice as a gluten free person to be able to have anything off the men.
We had the set menu which was worth the money, next time I am going to try the fish & chips as someone nearby had that & it looked delicious.
We had the set post theatre menu after going to the afternoon matinee. Location perfect as close to many theatres and having an early dinner here allowed us to miss the crowds of the rush hour. It was absolutely lovely. Food and service extremely good. Have eaten here before and we definitely go back.
Chose here as it offered a full gluten free menu without compromising on the quality or fine dining aspect. Food lovely, good wines, service friendly and efficient. A little quiet but was busier later on. A nice place for a special meal for those looking for gluten free.
Slow service 1hr 10 mins to get main course despite being first in restaurant
Food quality very good but small portions
A really nice place which is great for a pre-theatre meal if you are in the Covent Garden area. The "no-dairy" policy means that one or two items, such as ice cream, are not to my taste but, in general the food is delicious and well presented. The staff are very nice too. I will look forward to going again soon.
Took my mother and two friends for pre-theatre set menu £28.
Service was slow.
Got starters order wrong so my friend sat and watched us eat ours which didn’t take long as they were minuscule, by the time his had arrived we had finished.
Mains were three fish , they were ok, can’t remember anything else much on the plate. Other main was baked celeriac which was hard, tasteless and boring.
Desserts took ages to come, we had to ask for them twice, my mother was getting really stressed that we were going to be late for the performance. As luck would have it they were as small as the starters so we finished in a couple of mouth fulls.
Didn’t think it was good value, food was scarce and uninteresting and service was slow, not a great start but to our evening.
Innovative approach to some classic dishes (like pork tenderloin) with a good selection of wines by carafe and GREAT service. Intimate setting overlooking the lounge/bar below (if you are lucky to sit near the atrium, otherwise overhearing the music - still very pleasant)
Service was very good and ambience, on the mezzanine floor, overlooking the Lobby Bar was great. I had beer battered fish of the day. It was good. My partner had the pollock but was hugely disappointed by it. Her first choice, the plaice, we discovered, was only served on the bone. Can’t say I’ve ever seen that before. Ive only previously had filleted plaice.
Very pleasant bottle of wine but not cheap.
Would recommend overall.
Interesting food and very friendly service. A great dinner with my family
This is the second visit to Indigo in the past few months and whilst the food is lovely, the service on both occasions, particularly the second have spoilt the experience. On our second visit there was 7 of us, we arrived for 9pm yet did not get our food until 10.30pm, by which time a member of our party had to leave, therefore did not get to finish the meal with us. On more than one occasion one of us had to go and find a member of staff to get service and even then it did not always materialise! Such a shame the service is such a let down, as the food itself - especially the set price menu - is really great. We won't be booking again for a group.
Great food and especially good for people with food allergies / intolerances. You would not believe how hard it is to find a proper restaurant that has an extensive gluten free and diary free menu that isn't just salad. Also points for having a dessert option that was also soy free.
A great restaurant which specialises in gluten & dairy free food. A real treat for my gluten free friend While still tasty for non gluten diners. Broad choice on menu & pre/post theatre menu is very good value. Charming staff. Will be back.
A nice place to meet and dine, but it requires better air-conditioning. It's located near the ceiling of the downstairs bar and the temperature difference between the bar and the restaurant is very noticeable.
Very uninformed and difficult server . Main course arrived cold 1st time and was only warm the next time. First course was fabulous and desserts were delicious.
My Mum and I ate lunch here today, prior to the matinee performance at The Noel Coward Theatre.
We were both blown away by the equisite food and high level of service we received from every member of staff.
In fact my Mum couldn't stop saying how wonderful it was.
I had the set lunch menu of 3 courses for £28 and I chose quail to start, pork main and lemon posset. If you book via the Open Table app there's also a cocktail included in the set menu price.
My Mum ate from the A la carte menu and had pea soup followed by fish and chips.
We finished with pots of tea (earl grey for me and fresh mint for my Mum) and a delightful selection of petit fours.
Every dish was absolutely delicious.
Being unable to eat gluten or lactose, I was very excited to discover a restaurant who serve only gluten-free and dairy-free food.
We both left feeling comfortably full and as if we'd been treated like Royalty.
The restaurant decor is also beautiful with the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in, let alone in a restaurant!
The atmosphere was just perfect too: neither noisy nor quiet.
With great food, friendly welcoming staff and a comfortable setting, this restaurant ticks all the boxes.
We will definitely be back for more.
This is my new favourite restaurant!
We ordered the tasting menu to celebrate our engagement and I am coeliac so I was v excited. I had ordered a glass of prosecco which was free poured and not actually the correct measure I had ordered but still cost £10. The food eventually arrived after nearly 2 hours and the first 2 courses were cold :/ (the second one was replaced so that was good but I felt quite sad by this point so ended up tearful). The food really was lovely I just suspect they were v busy but because it took so long overall I ended up ordering another drink (which was the correct measure this time but it’s not cheap at £10 a glass!)... the waiter was nice but unfortunately didn’t really know what was going on and took all of our cutlery after our 4th of 5 courses and told us we were wrong about the final course and had to come back when he realised etc. The bill was v expensive and we would have liked to feel more special as we never really eat out (mostly due to me being coeliac) I’m sorry to say we wouldn’t go back.
