Spent a wonderful afternoon at this stunning recently refurbished restaurant. My wife being a coeliac she was spoilt for choice. Delightful gluten free and dairy free menu, she could eat everything and it was most reassuring to have such attentive staff who were very knowledgable about allergies. Food was delicious and presentation of dishes was a joy to the eyes thanks to the expertise of Executive chef Dominic Teague. Laura, restaurant operations manager made our day extra special when she found out we were celebrating our Sons GCSE’s and brought them each a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. We look forward to a return visit.
Excellent restaurant. Totally gluten free. Food was superb and service fantastic
Very welcoming and attentive staff. Great food and ambience.
We booked Indigo because a visiting colleague is gluten intolerant and normally has limited choice, so it was great that they didn't have to search the menu or make awkward requests to change items. It must be incredibly nice to not worry about being different or perceived as difficult.
I have other friends who are coeliac or gluten intolerant and have seen this dance around a menu before. I've also had plenty of gluten free bread before, so I can fully appreciate the joy of anyone who is GI or Coeliac when the bread comes to your table at Indigo as it's nice by anyone's standards - I mean light crumb instead of dense and heavy or cardboard like!
There are lots of great dishes on the menu that has been thoughtfully put together and for those of us who are not GI or Coeliac, we did not once feel deprived in any way. The venison was excellent. My colleague went straight for the fish and chips - it's funny the things you miss! Chef Dominic Teague has demonstrated that those who are Coeliac or GI can be fully catered for without anyone feeling like they're missing out
If I had one comment, and it is a very minor thing - the serving staff should really have told us what is no longer available or if there were limited servings at the time the menu's were brought to the table. Other than that minor point the front of house team were also very friendly and attentive.
A special experience. A family group including 2 children. service and attention to children needs good. service a little slow. Food quality excellent. Wine was supposedly Chablis but not a good representation of steely dry character it should be.
I took my mum here for her birthday treat, the staff were lovely and the food came out quickly and was delicious! The only downside was the added service charge that we didn’t realise would be added (it was our fault for not reading the small print), we would have left a tip but it’s just nice to be able to decide ourselves. Also it wasn’t a problem but maybe if the waiters took the nuts and olives that we were given in the bar up to our table so we could enjoy with the lovely bread that would have been lovely. Overall we had a fantastic time and all the staff were brilliant. Thank you!
Fantastic choice of restaurant especially if you have GF dietary requirements.
The service was excellent & the location great for many attractions.
The scallops we're exceptional and the baked Alaska was to die for, all gluten & dairy free.
The music came from the Lobby bar area and wasn't in keeping with the restaurant ambiance.
It was the best fish and chips I have eaten - not greasy at all. Service was impeccable. Thank you.
Excellent place for pre-theatre supper - fantastic that all the menu is gluten free!
Amazing gluten free meal at Indigo. The bread and the seaweed butter was divine !
I wish we would have found this place sooner on our trip. Everything on the menu is gluten and dairy free. For me, that was a huge plus. That the food was incredible warrants more than five stars. A great experience! If you do go, be sure to head upstairs to Indigo. There is another bar/restaurant on the main level.
Amazing food! Went for a birthday celebration/pre theatre. Had the lamb and steak and was the best I've ever had
It was my birthday so as my daughter-in-law is celiac thought it would be good to have a menu that she could choose anything from! We had a lovely time, the food was good and we were amazed by the bread. The waiter kept forgetting to get us our drinks and we poured our own wine, but we coped! Overall a good standard of food and I would definetly go back.
Lovely food, especially for those with a gluten intolerance coupled with a relaxed atmosphere
Overall I would, they do need to look at table management, service was great and owned by one individual who was let down down my the interference and poor execution of others, which let the overall experience down.
It’s always been a favourite place if hours and it doesn’t disappoint. It was out birthdays and they brought us a dessert each with a candle . That was including our desert .
I chose Indigo because of its Coeliac UK accreditation. It was fantastic to be able to have a special meal and feel completely relaxed about the food. It was more than I would normally spend but perfect for a special meal.
Yes I would. Nice helpful staff, good food and good value
Lovely pre theatre meal. Staff were very attentive and food was absolutely delicious.
Great gluten free food especially being able to eat everything without any concern. We all loved the fish and chips.
Music from downstairs not suitable for the restaurant which spoilt it from mum. We would visit again but hope that the music is less specialist and suitable for all ages
We enjoyed our lunch very much. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff friendly. We stayed in the restaurant for two and a half hours and did not feel under any pressure to leave. The salads we had were beautifully prepared and the desert was divine. It was wonderful to eat in a restaurant where I didn't have to worry about the ingredients in the food, as I am wheat and dairy intolerant. For me, it restored my joy in eating out.
I would highly recommend Indigo.
Friendly, attentive, professional service and a wonderful choice for breakfast. We asked for something not on the menu and without a hesitation they took the order and provided it. We were there for a business breakfast and worked brilliantly. A few tables down was a family with 3 kids , who seemed to be really enjoying themselves (and we had no disturbance), so really does cater for everyone
The food was well presented although the vegan bread was more like cake. The steak was excellent but shouldn’t have been accompanied with a rather turgid lump of mash potato.
We had the pre and post theatre menu, fantastic value for money. The food tasted delicious and service was excellent. The only thing I would say is watch out for the fact they add a 12.5% service charge to the bill. It is optional so you do have the option to not pay it or to pay some of it which is what we did.
A wonderful meal eating gluten free food with no taste or quality compromised
The waiting personnel were friendly yet very professional
Thank you for a lovely meal experience
It was amazing to be able to go to a restaurant and order anything on the menu and feel confident that you are being served Gluten Free food. I had fish and chips for my main and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone was very welcoming and the atmosphere was nice. My only negative was the wine is highly priced, the wine was good but at a steep price!
Excellent. Delicious food and attentive but not fussy service. Perfect for an evening out or as we did, pre-theatre. Try the cocktails in their bar first and make an evening of it :)
It was my husband’s 30th birthday and our wedding anniversary and the attention staff paid to detail, the level of service and a surprise brownie with candle at the end of the evening made the evening really special.
The food was delicious and every course was exceptional. For a special occasion I would thoroughly recommend! For my gluten free husband being able to pick anything off a menu was a really welcomed experience and as a gluten eater I couldn’t tell anything was gluten free!
We went to have to have a celebratory graduation dinner with our daughter who suffers from coeliac disease. It was a delightful evening because our daughter was able to choose anything from the entire menu without having to be concerned about gluten contamination or content.
The quality of the dishes were outstanding. Indeed our daughter was so happy that she decided to take all the left over food home.
The restaurant is in a central London position and we will make it one of our regular dinner locations during the coming years.
The staff was extremely friendly, professional and accommodating including the doormen of the hotel.
Very well located for London West End. A varied menu with very good value fixed price menu and a full a la carte. Caters very well for gluten-free needs. Staff are very attentive and enthusiastic. They obviously are rightly proud of the food and service they provide.
Wonderful staff, could not fault the service. Food excellent, highly recommended!
Theoretically great idea to have a restaurant based around non dairy and gluten free - but the food still needs to be delicious and sadly it isn’t. Over cooked fish and under cooked chips should be an embarrassment for any chef - particularly at their prices. Staff attentive but forgetful- wouldn’t go back I’m afraid
We booked for a pre-theatre meal and arrived early so we enjoyed cocktails in the bar whilst waiting. The service was outstanding and we thought the meal was very good value. Would highly recommend.
Lovely restaurant, friendly staff good excellent set menu good value food presented beautifully highly recommended, will be back
Absolutely fabulous meal and lovely staff. Best meal I’ve had in London. Thank you.
A lovely relaxed evening. The service was excellent; attentive without being intrusive. Food was amazing and the menu choice was good. A delight for my daughter who has Coeliac disease.
Excellent pre theatre experience! We had the 3 course and blue spritz cocktail pre-theatre meal 29 pounds which was great value. Staff throughout our time at the hotel from the bar, concierge to the restaurant were extremely helpful and attentive the service could not be faulted. Food was of good quality and portion size, the meal was timed to perfection by the staff for out theatre booking at the Aldwych theatre.
Excellent well priced food. As both my mother and i are gluten free it was such a change to be able to eat everything on the menu. We shared a pork disk that was both tasty and filling. My chocolate mousse was sublime.
My only criticism is the price of the drinks. £21 for a 175ml glass of chardonnay from a bottle that online cost £40 is daylight robbery. Twice my mother was brought the wrong glass of wine . I was glad i was driving or i might have had to take out a second mortgage !
Recommend - exceptional service and great food in a lovely bright and airy environment. Booked due to proximity to Aldwych Theatre after seeing Tina the musical for my mother's birthday - she was thrilled and had the perfect ending to a fantastic day. She last ate at the hotel 64 years ago at the age of 16 !
