Excellent service and the food was fantastic and very good value would definitely dine there again .
Service was slow! We were made to wait for a table even though we had booked- makes no sense.
Waiter was begging for a tip which made us feel a bit uncomfortable!
Food was good especially the safari platter
Great food, table was at 9:30pm and we were told the restaurant closed at 10.30pm so felt a little rushed, even though people came after us. Everything was excellent and the safari platter was delicious, my only criticism would be that we were given ketchup as part of the pickle tray with poppadoms which was odd and a first for both of us.
Service was great too.
A lovely Indian restaurant not typically decorated in the usual style, it felt quite cosy with a calming ambience. Food very tasty. Service excellent. Would definitely visit again and would recommend to others.
Fabulous food as always
We visited Itihaas very shortly after restaurants were allowed to re-open following the coronavirus pandemic. The restaurant was quite empty and unfortunately a diner on another table felt it was quite appropriate to take a very loud and long business call on his mobile; but aside from that, everyone was charming and helpful, and the food was delicious, with generous portion sizes.
Having visited for many years, it was our first choice for super Saturday. Itihaas did not disappoint on any level, ot made us so glad to return to normal and we felt so safe because tye hygenie levels were impeccable and we were so happy for the staff to be back at work. The key point I would make about this restaurant is that it the only one of which I can saythat I can day have absolute consistency any day of the week, year after year. I love eating out and being loyal to my faves but thats not always possible, it is at Itihaas.
The food at Itihaas was amazing!! Really delicious! The ambiance was great too! I would highly recommend this place for a special occasion.
Very busy being a Saturday night but service and food quality was outstanding still. Will definitely return and recommend
Booked a table of 4 for Saturday 15th February. Table was available after only a 5 minute wait. Service was a little slow initially but then very attentive thereafter. Our main waiter was humourous and attentive but others were a little matter of fact and dull.
Drinks are quite expensive but food is amazing. We all enjoyed started and mains, word to the wise starters and rice portions are big enough to share. No issues.
Overall recommend to at least give it a try!!
This restaurant is normally faultless, fantastic food, however was rather disappointed this time round
It took 50 minutes to bring out starters, where we found the prawns really nice however the raja lamb was disappointing.
The main was very good which was a chicken dish.
Please improve your service times and levels, you charge a premium price so I expect premium service
The staff are very friendly. Our food took longer than normal but our waiter, along with the manager, was very apologetic and gracious and gave us some free starters for the inconvenience
Poor service we hd to ask for our popadams. They came 40 minutes after we sat down. We had a set valentines menu and our soup wasnt served at all. We hd to pay the full price for the course even though a full course wasnt given. The service was awful. Not attentive at all, quite disappointed
The food was really good, the service was decent we asked for a sauce and they completely forgot we requested it which was annoying at the time. Be careful with their special occasion menu because they didn’t include that the meal price was per person it was a unpleasant surprise when i asked for the bill.
It was brilliant. Kamaljit in particular really catered to our needs. It was a special date night and he ensured everything I asked for was provided.
My second visit here recently & not disappointed at all. The food was excellent, promptly served & staff friendly. I’ll be visiting again very soon. Great restaurant 👍
Really enjoyable meal. Excellent food and service.
We arrived at 8pm and we were not seated until over an hour later. We kept being told the table would be ready in 5mins. When we were seated we waited for a while for a server to come over and take a drinks order. No one came and in the end we had flag someone down. This happened again when we needed to order a food. It took approx 1 hour 45 mins from us arriving to us ordering. The food was ok once it arrived. They gave us bottled water and poppodums on the house to compensate, not really much considering we were happy to just have tap water!! Very disappointing service.
Very busy so service a little slow but the food was just superb.
This was my first visit here & it certainly won’t be the last! The food & service were great. I only had poppadoms followed by a chicken curry & cauliflower rice, but they were a ‘cut above’ the norm & really enjoyable. The rest of the menu & wine list looked good too - will be back soon! 👍👏🏼
Fantastic meal here on Christmas Day. The food was incredible and there was so much of it. The service was fantastic, pro active and friendly. We were very impressed and cannot wait to visit again.
Excellent as always, never lets us down
First visit to this restaurant. Initially excited by the name and decor expecting authentic Indian punjabi curries, but was disappointed when the same rich gloopy curry sauce was presented for each of our orders -lamb, prawn and paneer, particularly at the price we paid. For a busy Saturday night, service was not bad and food arrived at a reasonable time but the waiters could have been more welcoming.
The food is excellent, with a good variety of traditional dishes. The service was attentive without being over the top. Would recommend to anyone wanting good Indian food in Birmingham
Really poor service , had to wait 40 mins before our first drinks. The starter was very nice but the main course was very low quality meat. At the point of asking what the meal was like it seemed fine but as we ate our mains, we found that the chicken murgh was very low quality meat, it was thigh, and dull of gristle . We informed the waiter and he said you should have told me at the start when I asked ! It took nearly an hour for the food to come. Very poor experience indeed.
Beautiful setting. Excellent service. Good wine list. Utterly yummy food
A Great Atmosphere and Meal they were very accomodating as we had disabled friends joining us and they were each served with care and attention
Absolutely Fantastic restaurant
Fantastic Place, food and service. I absolutely recommend
We celebrated a 40th Wedding Anniversary with the family. We had a great time and service was really good. It was a Monday night and therefore a less busy time to visit. Only downside is that there is not a big variety of starters in my opinion (although what we ordered tasted great) and also it’s pretty pricey compared to other Indian restaurants. So I’m not sure how often I would visit itihaas but I would reserve it for special occasions only. Other than that it was a lovely night out. Thank you
Great food. Really great food. The staff try hard but just lack the poise of their upmarket competitors.
I would go back again.
Really very disappointed in this restaurant
They were not flexible at all
The vegetarian options were terrible
I would really avoid - much better indian restaurants in bham
Lovely food, good portion size and presentation.
Would definitely recommend.
Always great but the masala tea is a no no.
Absolutely great food service and ambience. Would visit again. Portion size is bit less.
Accommodated us despite delayed arrival. Excellent food.
Very good curry. Starters are expensive so avoided them. The main courses are better value for money. Very tasty, hearty fare. Will definitely go back.
The food was good (not amazing but better than most) and the service/decor was lovely, however portion sizes are small and prices are high! Quality of food doesn’t justify the price - there are better places which offer better value. Also didn’t appreciate getting a snotty email the next day, about not honouring our booking when we did! Doesn’t make me feel very valued after spending over £130 on a modestly sized meal for 4!
The food was very good but this was let down by the slow service at the beginning. I twice had to remind them for a bottle of wine. I had asked someone if they had a cloak room for my jacket but the lady never returned. As I stated the food was good but overpriced.
The meal was not as good as I expected the choice of main dishes was very limited and the service wasn’t great. Once the food was served no one even came over to ask how the meal is ok or if we needed anything else..
Tastefully decorated establishment with a unique menu.
The food was delicious and well worth a second visit
