Fantastic Place, food and service. I absolutely recommend
We celebrated a 40th Wedding Anniversary with the family. We had a great time and service was really good. It was a Monday night and therefore a less busy time to visit. Only downside is that there is not a big variety of starters in my opinion (although what we ordered tasted great) and also it’s pretty pricey compared to other Indian restaurants. So I’m not sure how often I would visit itihaas but I would reserve it for special occasions only. Other than that it was a lovely night out. Thank you
Great food. Really great food. The staff try hard but just lack the poise of their upmarket competitors.
I would go back again.
Really very disappointed in this restaurant
They were not flexible at all
The vegetarian options were terrible
I would really avoid - much better indian restaurants in bham
Lovely food, good portion size and presentation.
Would definitely recommend.
Always great but the masala tea is a no no.
Absolutely great food service and ambience. Would visit again. Portion size is bit less.
Accommodated us despite delayed arrival. Excellent food.
Very good curry. Starters are expensive so avoided them. The main courses are better value for money. Very tasty, hearty fare. Will definitely go back.
The food was good (not amazing but better than most) and the service/decor was lovely, however portion sizes are small and prices are high! Quality of food doesn’t justify the price - there are better places which offer better value. Also didn’t appreciate getting a snotty email the next day, about not honouring our booking when we did! Doesn’t make me feel very valued after spending over £130 on a modestly sized meal for 4!
The food was very good but this was let down by the slow service at the beginning. I twice had to remind them for a bottle of wine. I had asked someone if they had a cloak room for my jacket but the lady never returned. As I stated the food was good but overpriced.
The meal was not as good as I expected the choice of main dishes was very limited and the service wasn’t great. Once the food was served no one even came over to ask how the meal is ok or if we needed anything else..
Tastefully decorated establishment with a unique menu.
The food was delicious and well worth a second visit
The food was lovely but the service was very poor considering we had booked for a Tuesday evening.
Fabulous food, some of the best I’ve tried. Ambiance great, clean and busy. Service average at best and quite clinical though efficient. Punchy pricing - over double the average - but food quality just about justified it. Recommended
It was so good And delicious. But in executive thali the amount of flavored rice is not sufficient..it would be great if they increase the quantity of rice in it
The food was so nice, really enjoyed it. The service is very poor, had to ask for the menu and the waiters were not very attentive.
Dined here previously and very impressed, however whilst the starters were excellent a limited menu for the Mains, and quite frankly they easily forgettable.
The food was excellent, the surroundings were excellent and the service was out of this world. To have a resturant and staff as friendly as you do is an amazing credit to yourselves. Again many thanks for your amazing hospitality, everyone in the party said it was the best food they had ever had.
Restaurant and food excellent, service disappointing - had to chase everything, the drinks order, the starters, the bill - everything!
Wonderful meal for 15 of us! Really can not recommend high enough, such lovely staff and the food is out of this world!
The service and the staff are excellent. The food was soooooo tasty, looking forward to a return visit next time we visit Brum.
Spent New Years Eve 2018 here and the punjabi food was of excellent taste and fine dining.
Great food as always, never been disappointed . Tried the veg starter combo for two this time and wasn’t disappointed.
Went as a group of 3 due to a recommendation. We were not disappointed - staff were friendly/attentive, service was fast, food was delicious. Highly recommend
6 male diners business meal treated like they couldn’t wait to get us out food was just ok as been before and had same dish so no it wasn’t the same, the mixed platter £28 x 2 to start was disgusting meat was hard and prawns were not good or tasted fresh, complained and got the padantic waiter being very awkward and unhelpful, meal came to £230 for 6 of us with drinks, think if your face doesn’t fit service and food wil not be up to standard this as other guests, wouldn’t recommend this restaurant as ashas Indian restaurant up the rd is far superior in service food and attention to detail,
I’d heard great things about Itihaas, however was left very disappointed by the service and ambiance created by the staff.
Our waiter was clearly exceptionally inexperienced, and left to his own devices throughout the evening.
He didn’t understand the menu, and when a member of my party requested a salad from the menu he simply replied “no” quite abruptly. He wasn’t clear when announcing meals and us such this made for a number of difficult conversation such as wrong dishes being delivered to the party. He made three attempts to ‘sell’ one party member breads, rices or nans despite her specifically rejecting the offer on the first occasion, which made for a series of embarrassing and pushy follow ups from the waiter. The waiter also dropped a vast amount of glassware in the restaurant which resulted in a great deal of noise and commotion; disputing the meal.
We weren’t asked at any point if we were happy with our meal and at the end of the evening a new waitress arrived to take payment despite the bill not being presented to us yet. I’m afraid regardless of great food, I couldn’t recommend and wouldn’t return.
We had a fantastic business meal here for a team Christmas celebration. The staff were great and the food was absolutely fantastic. All 10 of us walked away really impressed with the food.
Very tasty vegetarian starters and excellent service will be looking forward to go again.
Fourth visit, unfortunately not upto previous exacting standards. From the first point of contact it was delay after delay, drinks were slow, waiting staff were slow and visibly inexperienced. The food is excellent. This experience won’t put me off visiting again, hopefully a one off.
Fantastic food, manager very welcoming, just wonderful experience from start to finish thank you itihass
Loved it so much, came back with family. The lamb starters are amazing!
Loved the ambience of the place. The food was just amazing. Wi definitely cone again with friends and family
Brilliant restaurant, food was lovely, service was exceptional, would definitely recommend.
Excellent again, polite, friendly service, excellent food, menu is perhaps a little limited (we have exhausted the choices now), but no worse for that.
Only minor let down was that the wine was poured with no offer to taste prior. I know that’s only a very minor fault, and it’s somewhat irrelevant, but the offer to taste the wine is - nice touch to the service.
Have been here many times over last few years. The food is still good but feel that the entire experience has gone down a little., this used to be my favourite Indian because of the authentic cuisine.. the portions have shrunk, prices have gone up and the food is not as good. The service too has suffered and one feels less welcome..
Amazing as per usual - never fails to impress.
The menu is always full of variety for meat and non meat eaters and the deserts are amazing !
Not my first time there and definitely not my last
Disgusted that waiter brought the bill to us while we were still drinking. This i found very rude. When we politely informed him we hadnt finished he stated the restaurant was busy!!!! Would not apologise at all!!!!
Would never go again
Absolutely fantastic from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. Given the “same”Asian dishes can vary greatly, I would think because the Indian sub continent is so vast, this restaurant is definitely amongst the best we have eaten at
30 mins waiting for our reserved table which was annoying but ok because we weren't starving. The food was just ok and not much better than you would get at much more casual Indian restaurants around town. The tandoori mix plate starter which we ordered as a main course was tasty but obviously not cooked fresh as it was all rather dry. At £28 I'd expect a lot more. The chicken curry was good but again nothing special. Service was attentive and friendly
