Izgara Restaurant - Whetstone

Lovely food, lovely staff and i loved the fact we didn't feel rushed to order like some places. The only slight negative I'd say is that they don't do the free salad, bread and dip option that most Turkish restaurants offer.

As usual we enjoyed a nice meal. We would definitely return at a later date

The lamb shish is always very nice in this place, we have had it several times.

We love coming to Izgara Whetstone as a family. We spent Christmas Eve with them and regularly since. We have always been placed at the same table which we as parents and the 3 children love and the staff are attentive and remember us which is lovely.
5 star service and food, welcoming, accommodating staff and a pleasure to visit.

Food very good, although the grilled onions delayed the main course by 30 mins. They should have told us when we ordered!

First time I've been - had lots of recommendations to go and the food was great and service good however I echo the comments from others on the lack of COVID measures that just made it uncomfortable. Up close to other tables and with delivery people in and out plus a good few waiting staff it was extremely busy.
I would go back again once things have calmed down or at a less busy time - the food was lovely and the service timely, good portions and decent prices but I really hope they listen to the reviews and take out a couple of tables until things settle before they get into trouble for it.

Had a nice dinner with a friend. Food was lovely and good social distancing within restaurant.

Great food and service but....Far too many people in the restaurant and no social distancing. Too many tables crammed in.

Love the food in this restaurant and the staff are very welcoming.
My only gripe was the cost of my drinks...£5.70 for 2 small soda waters with a small jug of lime cordial!! Really..... will be sticking to tap water next time.

Lovely atmosphere, good food and excellent service

Food was great - a little noisy and smokey (from the kitchen) in the restaurant . Service was slow to start but picked up throughout the meal.

The service was very slow, we waited over an hour for our main course and some of (not all) the staff were quite rude and dismissive.

They also did nothing to encourage people to leave by the newly introduced 10pm curfew. Desserts were still being served at 9:50pm

The food was tasty though.

The food and cocktails were delicious.

There are far too many tables in the restaurant to be COVID-secure.

Therefore the noise levels make it impossible to hear the people on your own table on a Saturday night.

I will not be returning unless I hear they have removed some of their tables

We love the food and service. The quality and portions are generous and the food is delicious and fresh. The staff are friendly and very attentive. It's a family favourite!

We booked a table for 4pm and we got there and it was closed. Not happy

The food was good but I wouldn't be in a rush to go back there. If someone suggested it I would be happy to go bit wouldn't make a special effort.

This restaurant is way too busy for these covid times. No spacing between tables, waiters practically climbing over you to get to other tables and one only if them was wearing a mask. If this is of concern to you don’t come!

Too many people. Very noisy. Tables too close together. Not enough ventilation. I and my sister were uncomfortable given current COVID concerns.
However, the service was very good and the food really delicious.
I have eaten at Izgara many many times but would now be reluctant to go back during this pandemic.

Nice food but no social distancing or contact tracing in place.

Our food came very late and the dish I had ordered was ridiculous and didn’t have the ingredients it said on the menu which they later agreed and changed. I don’t think so I will go back.

We always prefer Izgara as the food is amazing, service is excellent and the team is very friendly.

Very efficient friendly service, food was very fresh.

Food was okay, the entire restaurant was overly packed. Disappointed that zero social distancing was in place or even the lack of ppe worn by the staff. Tables were placed so close together and for the current climate, no protection was provided what so ever. Won’t be visiting again as it made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. It’s a shame as we were out to support the eat out to help out scheme. I will be reporting this to higher up due to these measure being put into place by the government for the safety of everyone. Disappointed and appalled.

Food was good as always and the service is spot on considering how busy they were.

The food was excellent. Service was a bit slow but the restaurant was busy.

We love going here and the food was very good as usual. We were surprised when we got in there that non of the waiting staff were wearing masks or shields. I had to get up and go over to the bar and ask them to wear a mask when they served us. We were a group of seniors! They did this quite happily and they did have hand sanitiser by the door. It’s great to be able to go out again but we feel this needs addressing.

The set menu is expensive for what you get compared to a Greek meze !! Seemed quite expensive and why do you get 10 pieces of chicken and only 8 pieces of lamb ??

Great food, great service and great atmosphere!

The vegetarian meze plate was so tasty, would 100% recommend. All very generous portions.

Food good as normal. Went on an Eat Out to Help Out night so very busy. Perhaps remove a couple more tables to assist on social distancing. Thanks

Brilliant as ever! Gave us the table we’d particularly requested. Fast service,good food and we were 4 happy diners, spoilt just a little by a large table of noisy, inebriated ladies next to us which encouraged us to leave a little earlier than we might have done!

As usual, lovely food, great service....but the smoke from the kitchen completely spoiled it, and made half the meal unbearable as it was so bad it made our eyes itch & throats hurt, it was horrible. And I really felt for the chefs in the kitchen who couldn’t breathe either!

Excellent value set lunch. Good salad with the shish. No need to have rice. Charms no service.

Delicious food and great service, I went with a group of 4 friends and they kindly let us sit on the round table for 6 as they weren’t busy.

It was a very pleasant meal with family, all the staff were helpful and the food was exceptional. We will book again at this restaurant in future. Also it is very near where we live and easy to get to. I have never been to a Turkish restaurant before in England and thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

It's always a pleasure to visit this restaurant. The food and service are excellent and the tables are not too close together. The only drawback can be the lack of car-parking!

The service was amazing and would go again. The waiters were lovely.
