J Sheekey - The Restaurant
with wholemeal toast
avocado, cucumber & aji amarillo chilli
Sheekey's is in a league of its own, alway has has been and I'm sure always will be.
The team has done a brilliant job of adapting to the current situation and made the experience as seamless as ever.
We love Sheekys, but the staff were 'warming' up. We had to ask for quite a lot; salt, pepper, butter, mayo, wine was slow, toast came after the the dressed crab was finished. All forgivable because lovely to be back!
Fabulous as always.
Great food and service, the shrimp and crab burger was very tasty, the lobster salad was fresh and full of flavour. Excellent oysters too so will definitely be back for those.
beautiful seafood great service and well executed drinks!
thank you all for the warm welcome.
See you soon
Really great lunch on the terrace, fabulous service and food.
Excellent food. Traditional, discreet service. Good wine list. Would return.
Lovely food and great service. Were very conscientious regarding Covid-19 measures. Large outdoor space for dining.
What a lovely restaurant!
We had a great time with amazing service and incredible food.
Despite everything going on (covid-19) the restaurant still held its delicate charm and made us feel 'normal' for the few hours we were there.
I'd highly recommend this place for either a casual date night or special occasion.
Looking forward to our return.
Great meal in great restaurant!
Long wait for the table and the food.
Most of the plates in the menù were not available.
Significant discount on the bill in exchange
Given the reduction in the number of diners service appeared all over the place. Staff forgot our wine, found it very difficult to catch anyone’s attention. Took ages to get the bill. It wasn’t a bad experience but for a restaurant that normally delivers such a high level of service it was unexpectedly chaotic.
Tremendous place to eat and drink......great atmosphere very much of the moment.
Nice restaurant oysters a d prawns great haddock in batter was over cooked so fish was mushy. Great service.
I tried some dishes that I have not had before. A cheese soufflé and the fish stew. Both were amazing. Best cheese soufflé ever. And for desert I had the pear tart tartan which was amazing too.
Mums 70th birthday, best spot in London for a special fish supper.
Fantastic and I would highly recommend. The service was impressive and the food amazing.
We ate here before going to the theatre the service was friendly, prompt and professional and the food was amazing.
A great late-night, post-theater option - lots of people there after the play, so not empty or too quiet. We enjoyed the fish - Dover sole and mixed grill - also a very nice bottle of Chablis. The arugula and Parmesan salad was good, also the pear tarte tatin for dessert. We'll be back!
There was a problem in the kitchen which led to a very long wait and they didn’t offer any discount or complimentary drink etc. It was my 40th birthday.
Slips soles were stunning x
Birthday , food always fantastic !
Our table, in this oak panelled restaurant was enough for two; room for wines and dishes. Service was impeccable. Food was all fish for us, the skate wing generous - halibut not so, but beautifully cooked. English wine was refined too. No rush for coffee, even though we were told that there was a time limit. Thoroughly traditional and so enjoyable.
Had a lovely meal at J Sheekey. Great service. Friendly staff.
Superb. Delicious and unpretentious.
I enjoyed a fantastic lunch with my friends to celebrate our 50th birthdays.
The fish was cooked to perfection with particular highlights being the razor clams, skate wing and cod. The service was attentive and our table was in a lovely corner location.
On a previous visit, I had enjoyed the turbot for two which was superb and one of the best fish dishes I have eaten.
Been a few times now and although can be quite expensive, the food, the service and the atmosphere are exceptional..love this place...
Wonderful as usual
I was really disappointed in the experience here - despite calling me to ascertain that there we were planning to go to the theatre and that there were vegetarians in the group, we were not offered the vegetarian menu and the main course came about 15 mins before we had to leave. Given how expensive it is, this was unacceptable and really ruined the experience. The food was ok, well cooked fish but very plain and vegetables overcooked. I wouldn’t be able to recommend this restaurant and think it may be resting on its famous laurels, which is a shame.
We booked for a very late sitting, and were treated brilliantly by the staff: the waiting staff is outstanding. The set menu is very good value, and our food was excellent. The wine mark-up is enormous - a nice domaine Beaujolais for £42 is really over the top -, but that is understandable given their position and the size of the operation. It is the perfect restaurant for after-show dinner and thoroughly to be recommended.
The food was exceptional and the service not too fussy
Great food and service
I have been coming here over a very long period of time, albeit infrequently. The food is always well presented and tasty but is a little on the expensive side.
Best service in town. Fabulous wine list. Excellent food. Expensive but worth every penny.
As an intermittent diner at J Sheekey - maybe once a year - I always enjoy coming back as the quality is so utterly reliable. On this occasion I was not only pleased to see they accepted a 10:30 pm booking for a post-theatre celebration but also delighted to find that nothing was lost in the atmosphere and service for coming so late. We lapped up the superb comfort food - fish pie and shrimp and soft shell crab burger - after delicious starters of char grilled octopus and salmon and avocado ceviche. Many reasons remain on the wonderful menu to return well within a 12 month period.
Excellent food as usual.
Going to the theatre after. Good service
Good selection on menu.
Good as usual. Service a bit on the slow side but still very good. A bit of a scrum at the door when trying to exit due to the large pre theatre crowd.
A bit tired and not of the standard you’d expect at the price point. If you want seafood in London go to Scott’s.
