J Sheekey - The Restaurant
A wonderful restaurant! Great staff ,great food!
Nice if you're going to theatre
We totally enjoyed out dinner at J. Sheekey. The dishes are creatively done, particularly the appetizers we had - razor clams and dressed crab. The service was excellent - anticipating what we wanted without being effusive. Hope to eat here again when I am in London.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. All dishes were delicious and the service was very good.
I adore this place. Discreet but always on the ball. attention to detail is perfect just wish i could come here more often
Fabulous place for a special occasion with excellent food and service. Great menu for vegetarians/pescatarians too.
The food at J Sheekey was excellent. There was a good range of tasty dishes which were well presented. However, there was a rush from the beginning to get us out because the table had 9.30pm deadline. We ordered cocktails and specifically asked for time to drink them before the food was served. Moments after we started the cocktails the first course arrived. The food had to go back to the kitchen. It was a shoddy start to the meal and diminished the overall experience. The staff were apologetic but it should not happen in a restaurant of this calibre. We left at about 9.45pm by which time we were surrounded by empty tables. Why the rush? It has put me off going back or recommending this restaurant.
Maybe....if theater is close by and you are wanting fish. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go there.
Fantastic meal fantastic wine
If you love great seafood, great service and a special evening, then dinner at J Sheekeys is the perfect venue. We went pre-theatre and everything went perfectly but never felt rushed or forced. One of my favourite places
The Place in London, even better than The Ivy. More original food,
This was my first visit to this restaurant and I have always meant to try it. The experience was delightful as the staff are all very welcoming and attentive. The choice of food is extensive and the quality exceptional. The dessert menu is particularly tempting.
An excellent place for dinner, especially if you are as much as fan of seafood as my wife is. We were there pre-theatre and the kitchen coped faultlessly with us ordering in dribs and drabs as various members of our party arrived late from work. The monkfish curry is always a winner, the stuffed courgette flower with asparagus was delicious, and the sole was also voted a success. Only the grilled tuna could have been a bit pinker. Service was excellent and accommodating. There's a reason this place is still going strong.
Delicious, pretty food
One of my favorites. I did not sit in the room that I like which was disappointing .
I had been looking forward to eating here for such a long time, but was a little underwhelmed. The food was ok, but nothing special, so in my opinion is overpriced. Not sure that I would recommend, as there are plenty more fish restaurants in London that are doing a much better job. Perhaps J Sheekey have got a little too comfortable riding off their name. Must do better.
A fantastic lazy late Friday lunch. Great food and great service. In our London top 10.
Excellent food and service. Buzzy atmosphere. Really enjoyed the evening.
This is a great place for a friend's together very nice atmosphere.
Simply stunning. Took my parents for a birthday lunch. Impeccable
FABULOUS! Superb food, lovely attentive professional staff, great ambience. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Excellent lunch and great service.
All of the fish dishes were cooked perfectly; however the langoustine sauce with my cod tasted fine, but the vein was not removed so the sauce was gritty. Attention to this detail would have made our experience much better.
A return visit and usual champagne.
Staff were good until ignoring my having left all the salmon on my plate of grilled fish and pointing out it was very under cooked.
So a disappointing note, as the dish cost £58 plus 12.5% service!
I am also irritated that the cover charge also attracts an extra 'service' charge
My third visit this time with a friend who had not been before, he was well pleased saying he would return with his wife and daughter. I had smoked eel I love it and not often you get the chance to have it my friend crab with scrambled eggs said it was delicious to follow on my recommendation he had fish pie and was glad he did he said he would have the fish stew but I said the pie in my opinion is much better. I had lobster Thermidor first time in many years we both really enjoyed out mains . Dessert was Mille feulle 15 minute wait cooked to order delicious. Love this place expensive yes but you get what you pay for and the service was very good .
We’ve eaten at J Sheekey many times and again weren’t disappointed. Very good service and food was excellent.
Well the umpteenth time, but times have changed, tastes have changes. A former giant is out of step out of time. Change or face the facts.
This restaurant is always a favorite for us before a show when visiting London. Consistently great food and service.
Dinner before the theatre. Fabulous experience at J. Sheekeys.. delicious food. Excellent service. Good ambience, perfect for any occasion.
Bill probably a little more than anticipated..
Fantastic meal in a lovely restaurant
As we were early ,to enable us to go to the theatre, our waiter was not busy.I felt his constant attention to
filling our wine glass a little too frequent!Generally a very pleasant meal.A pity the restaurant doesn’t do a weekday pre-theatre menu as do other very good restaurants.A rather expensive wine list.
The place for Sunday supper with friends - fish pie all round and a glass of Sancerre!
Great food and service, we were very well looked after.
A little cramped but well worth it for the quality of the food. My wife says she had the best halibut she has ever tasted, cooked to perfection.
Absolutely live for their fish pie. Always try to stop here on my visits to London for either lunch or dinner.
Had not been here for a couple of years but had always enjoyed in the past.
This visit was the best yet, wonderful food and great service made for a memorable evening, would highly recomend
Always an amazing and special experience. Do not miss the fish pie!
Great fish restaurant - good selection & variety of traditional & modern dishes
Excellent restaurant for after theatre dining or a regular dinner if its not weekend with the drinkers out clogging up the streets. Good food ,particularly well cooked fish and a good wine list.Listen to the wine steward she has some good reccomendations.Very professionally run with excellent service. They have a gentleman who will get you a taxi for the ride home.
