Fantastic restaurant with excellent food and staff that go the extra mile to make your evening special
Will be back very soon
A great evening with great food. They accommodated us 30mins earlier than the booking and managed to squeeze us into the main restaurant rather than an outside table. They couldn't have been more helpful. Always a great atmostphere. Great night/meal!!
We dined on the terrace yesterday - it was really lovely up to the point when it got too cold because the waiter kept the front door open so all the heat escaped :-) Otherwise all great!
Excellent food and great service as ever. We went pre- theatre and did not feel rushed or stressed in any way. Could not fault the experience in any way
A regular visitor to sheekeys but disappointed this time. Service was very poor. Waited half an hour before served a drink, asked for extra butter and then had to ask again as not given to us. Clearing the table slow ponderous not a good experience.
Food however delicious.
Fabulous. Every time.
Very good experience. We had a table for 3 and had lots of room. The staff were also very nice to our daughter (14 months)
Excellent food and ambience but staff weren’t very attentive or welcoming. Had to search for a waiter to order a drink, later the wine and in the end the bill.
we had a fun evening and lovely food. wine way to expensive tho!!
First time I’ve booked this restaurant and what a superb experience. Can’t fault any aspect in any way. Can’t wait to book again 👍
Octopus dish disappointingly tough. Not up to usual standard
We went for a family birthday meal and everything was marvellous. Great food, atmosphere and service. The extensive and interesting vegetarian options were a big hit.
Food was sublime highly recommended would definitely go back
Perfect pre-theatre service: efficient service, excellent food, cosy atmosphere.
Great meal in comfortable surroundings. This is a top restaurant despite having a slightly limited menu given the difficulties with logistics at the moment.
I can especially for the scallops, they we’re not available. Actually 30% of the whole menu wasn’t available. This restaurant claims to have a high quality, but it is nothing more than microwaved brasserie food.
The waitress was excellent!
Not as good as I remember: Waiting-on service was friendly, but not up to Sheeky’s usual high standard (having to chase them to take our order; waiter spilled water over our table). Really small lobsters (Thermidor), and chips were over-cooked. Starters were good.
Wonderful meal in our favourite restaurant with our three children.
The food was mostly excellent. Great oysters though not properly shucked; lovely scallops and sticky prawns; great curry and sole, let down only by a pretty poor dish of rocket salad. It’s not cheap, but it is worth it. My only gripe was the table. A small side-by-side table next to the serving hatch, so we got a close-up view of buckets of dirty plates and non-stop waiters passing by: it felt like dining in the lobby. Also for a £300 dinner for two, there should be somewhere to put you coats rather than on the bench-seat next you you.
Will definitely be back, but will clarify the table location before arrival.
Loved it, brilliant as always
The manager asked me to move the seat after appetiser, even he apologised and offered a wine I still feel disturbed and not comfortable for what they did.
Excellent as always - definitely better than Scott’s
Nice food and great service.
Sheekeys is my favourite restaurant in London. My wife and I always come for lunch between Christmas and New Year. The food was superb as always but unfortunately the service was not at its usual high standard. However this must be due to the pandemic and the shortage of healthy experienced staff. This is entirely understandable in the circumstances and it was a pleasure to be able to return. Let’s hope that we can return to more normality soon.
We will be back - excellent food, atmosphere and staff.
We were sat on a table that was for 4no people but there was 6 of us. After complaining we were moved.
When it was time to order they had no oysters left or lobster so we had to change our order.
The shell fish platters which should of had oysters had other bits added like mussels.
When it was time for desserts they had also no crème brûlée left.
I very rarely write reviews but this was a poor experience. A birthday meal ruined.
Absolutely amazing food, staff and service, we will return soon 🤩
A gem down a side street in theater land. Great champagne list and really delicately prepared
Everyone should go there!
Staff- exceptional, polite, I asked them to surprise me with cocktails containing vodka of their choice and they made some very nice ones not on menu, they checked up on me and wanted to make sure my experience was great.
Drinks- very tasty.
Ambience- lovely decor, very pleasant and “posh” interior design, it was great.
Food- shellfish bisque was exceptional. Lobster was a bit disappointing due to the small size but this could be because of the time of the year. The chips that came with the lobster were great. The mousse was a bit hard (as if it was frozen).
Would I come again? Yes, I think I would in order to try the other dishes and because the people working behind the bar really put in effort without me asking (except for the drinks) to ensure I had a great experience.
Delicious pre-theatre meal - a great start to Christmas
Today we felt a number of things were off, the table we were placed at looked like it had been shoe horned in to the space, we were very close to two other tables and could clearly hear conversation from both, additionally when the waitress was serving the other table wine etc, she was brushing past my wife. Not really what we would expect at a high end restaurant and especially in these covid times...
We should have asked to be moved at the start of the meal and I do regret not mentioning it.
Additionally we had a trainee waiter, I appreciate young staff need to learn however I dont see that reflected in the service charge so why am I paying for trainee service?
Food was very good, just need to smarten up on the basics...
Been going to J Sheekey for years - disappointed that service was a bit inattentive this evening, everything from taking our drinks order to topping up wine and clearing the plates. Can’t blame Covid as there were plenty around.
The food was excellent however the staff attitude was not! Not sure if they are understaff or not wanting to do their jobs but it didn’t leave a great impression
Excellent location right in the heart of the west end
Went for our Christmas treat and what a treat it was. Fantastically cooked fish n chips, yes they are £21 a portion but so worth it. Service was very friendly and professional, wine chilled to perfection and delicious cocktails. Loved the old school ‘club’ vibe which added the ambiance of somewhere special.
Fabulous food and service - a great evening with friends out on the terrace
Pre Birthday celebration
Pre theatre meal, sooooo close to the theatre. The staff were amazing, simply excellent!
As usual fabulous meal and great atmosphere.
