Jack Astor's - Brampton

The service was okay, but the food wasn't as good quality as we have experienced before.

For a restaurant that was almost half full the service should have been much better. After taking our drink order and the drinks delivered by someone else, we didn’t see our server again for over 15 minutes. In a moment of frustration I approached someone who appeared to be the manager, who came over to the table and took our order.

The Korean bowl was just ok, rice was under cooked, didn’t really have a wow factor to it. I probably will not order it again, disappointing. The other two at the table had the fish and chips and the curry bowl which they seemed to enjoy.

The special occasion that we reserved through open table was not even acknowledged, why ask the question if you’re not going to follow through?

I got one of the Jack Astor's recommended bowtie pastas. The food took a long time to come and was dry , unseasoned and almost inedible. Everything else was mediocre. My guests were also disappointed with their orders.

Multiple items on our order came incorrect or cold. No apology from server. Sent items back and ended up cancelling one because the rest of our party had finished eating before the reheated one came back. Had 3 different servers. One that was new and didnt know her product well at all. Will never go back. Seating was very cramped and not easily accessible for people in our party. Asked to be moved and was told there was no space available for our party of 8 although the restaurant wasnt that busy. Very disappointed

Took a long time to seat even though i had a reservation. No utensils at table, had to ask several times. No water served and had to ask. Drinks were awful and server was very slow.

The bathroom was disgusting. Water was all over the floor and dripping from the ceiling. Paper towel dispenser was empty. The food wasn’t that great. Salad was wilted and the took a while for it to come out. Only good thing was the service. When my son didn’t like his food she quickly changed it

They promptly seated us. Our server was very good, attentive and polite. The food was good. A great experience overall. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Extremely poor service

Food was awesome, service was good. I was just suggest bringing the debit machine with the bill, as we had to wait 15 mins for our server to return with it.

We went there for garlic bread, which they are very famous for! We were actually far away from the location at a movie theatre and could’ve eaten somewhere closer but we drove all the way to Jack Astor’s just to have their garlic bread around 8:45pm.

The waiter told us they were out but that he would check if they were making more. He came back and said you’ll have it in 10 mins. So we went ahead with our order, our entrees arrived about 20 mins later, but no bread. The waiter seemed to have forgotten so we asked again and he said he will check. Came back and said just a few more mins. We finished our entrees and asked again he said, “Just a few more minutes, oh and are you sure you still want it?”.

At that point we were so frustrated as our entrees were terrible, not much flavour and fries seemed stale. We just said no thank you. We waited another 15-20 more mins for our bill and left completely disappointed. I highly doubt we will dine there again, no matter how yummy the garlic bread is! Jack Astor’s service and food used to be really good but standards have definitely dropped there.

It was busy when we arrived but we were seated immediately due to our reservation. We were waiting for a server for 45 mins before going to the front to notify them. They immediately sent us a server and from there, their server was really nice and the service was impeccable which balanced out the earlier issue. Thank you staff :)

Too loud...too expensive. Server was ok. But was hard to hear over the loud music. Very pricey for what you get. Portion sizes have decreased and the prices have increased...humm. Not one of my favorites anymore.

Great ambience for Raptors game!

We booked a reservation for the game and asked to be close to a tv but I received a call in the morning how it would be first come first served. I don't understand what is the point of doing a reservation then.

We had really great service only thing was that we had a piece of chicken in our calamari and I am a pescetarian but the server took it off our bill without us asking. He was really nice.

Good food as always, great server overall but he was serving alot of tables so billing was a little slow as few people in the group had little kids and they wanted to get out quicker.

It took us 1 hr to get our shared pasta meal on the patio. First we thought it was they were short staffed but we counted they were disorganized and manager when came
Out didn’t even pick up plates. The hostess came once to pick up leftover plates but meanwhile could have done this all the tome because her station was empty. Took them a very long tome to prepare food and then food came cold. Manager didn’t even ask if everything was ok. Not impressed at this location with management nor staff.

Natchos were very dry..hardly any toppings..could not even see any cheese
Very disappointed..my coctail wad watered down too much ice. Waiter was not attentive..there was two of us but he only brought 1 glass of water..i had to ask him for another wster. Did not chk back on us.
Will not eat here any more.

I would recommend Jack Astor's but a different location

Good service and great food! Jessica was friendly and did a great job making sure our orders were perfect. The food was amazing! Exactly what we expected.

Great service. Good chicken tacos....order a side though...the order (of 3 tacos) is tiny.

Lilly our server was awesome!

The girls had a nice March Break lunch together. We enjoyed our lunch options. Service was very good and personal. There was one order error, but, that was corrected quickly. We used a coupon for discount and that was accepted without reservations. Good for us retirees and it was appreciated. We will be back.

My girlfriend and I love this place so much. Very friendly staff

We moved from our original table to a booth. Our server (white male with beard) did not check on us once! Unacceptable. There was a wonderful young thin black guy (forgot his name) was so helpful and friendly and he said he usually is serving but tonight he is helping out. He was FANTASTIC!

I asked the hostess to please send our server order as I would like to have another tea. A female comes over that never approached us or introduced herself to us and brings me over the same pot with hot water in it! I wanted a new tea. I couldn't find our server or this female server! I spotted the black guy and HE came over and was so generous and so helpful and fun. I WISH I remembered his name as HE made our experience great and the ONLY reason I gave 15% tip was because I spent 8 years in restaurants and know servers have to tip out the kitchen and hostesses and they shouldn't suffer for our lack of good service by our servers.

The most pathetic part was when the bill came to us by the male server (white guy with beard) he said "So you used to work at Jack Astors eh?" He didn't care when I first said it, now its time for a tip and he wants to be friendly. GIVE ME A BREAK! How fake.

Food was great, service was poor. I have high expectations because when I was a server I treated everyone like they were guests in my own home. I felt my friend and I were an inconvenience except to that lovely guy that was 'helping' He rocked!! Thank you helper-man :)

Apps and our dinner came out at the same time so that wasn't great, other than that it was a good experience

I made a reservation for 5 with a note for a birthday celebration, when seated at restaurant seated behind reservations desk very cold from door being open and closed. Waiter did not even ask if we were celebrating anything at all, food was good. The restaurant a bit noisy good for young people.

This is the second time at this location that our food was cold. Service was good waiter was Dante.

I gave my review based on my last trip. It was this past Saturday night. Our server seemed like she was doing us a favour and looked like she would rather be anywhere else than serving our table. I understand it was busy but there was no check ins by her. We needed to flag her down when we needed refills etc.

I have been here several times and was astonished about the poor service we received. May be they were having a bad day I don't know. But honestly really disappointed at how the service was so poor.

Great atmosphere and the option to reserve your table and avoid the long wait for a table is a great bonus. The food was good as expected and i enjoyed evening.

We went for my daughters birthday - her choice. We were seated in a booth that isn't big enough for 6 people. Maybe for children but we were a group of 6 adults. The restaurant is extremely noisy and there was only 1 hook for all of our coats. We all ordered and one meal was wrong. Was taken back and came back wrong. Ate it anyway. We said we received the wrong pitcher of beer, the waitress took it away and came back and said that we were wrong and its the right beer. Drank it anyway. My food wasn't hot when it came to the table and since we were by the door that was open more than closed, it was stone cold within 2 minutes and I didn't eat it. I would say overall the food is way overpriced for what you get. Restaurant is extremely noisy. I won't be back.

Poor service , waited 1 hour for food poor service ! Slow !

I took my family out for a dinner which is a special time for us to get together. The kids (3 in total-7-12-15) love going there to eat and play games on the table top. We know what to expect when we go, but the service was horrible which took away from the night completely. You know it’s bad when the kids even comment on it! Our waitress seemed like she didn’t care to even be there and did nothing to make the evening better. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer (garlic cheese bread) and the bread came out 10 minutes later to the table before our drinks even arrived. I’m not going to go on about the evening, but it is very fair to say that we will not go back there for a family dinner again.
