Our New American Mid-Atlantic Menu features the freshest sourced seasonal, local and sustainable meats, seafood and produce that are meticulously hand-picked and prepared by our Chef, Peter McCall. We support our local farms all along the East Coast. Come in and taste excellence on a plate as you journey through our menu.
Appetizers were good, food was subpar...appetizers entrees and two doubles each cost more than $200. One of the entrees was stone cold, the other was a steak and not worth $35. Service was fair, not great and the desserts taste like grocery store bakery items with flair added for presentation. We had two desserts during our stay and they were both bland.
I’ve been here lots of times in the past, and always had a good experience, but this time was not good.
Service was friendly enough but slow. They had a wedding going on and I think were a bit overwhelmed.
The food was the big disappointment. Steaks were tough even cooked medium rare. Sides were cold.
I was sad to see this place has gone a little downhill. Hopefully it was just a bad night.
Met some friends for breakfast, these special ladies had served with me in the US Navy, we hadn't seen eachother in over 20 years. The ambience at Jackson 20 was conducive to us easily picking up right where we left off 20 years ago, and not to mention their frenchtoast was amazing! TY
This is a good spot for brunch. The menu is focused - just enough options to keep it interesting. And they were more than willing to make minor substitutions. I will go back for sure.
Overall the restaurant tries to be something that it is not. It tries to be a niche farm to table high end and it just did not pull it off. The steak was very fatty and stringy with a very marginal glaze. The tartare was quite good, but overall everything else was pretty underwhelming for the price. The Server tried very hard and was very nice, but took way too long in between courses.

My guest an I had reservations and arrived at the restaurant early. After we were seated we waited about 20 minutes until we actually had to ask if we had a waiter. We had no water or anything but the moment everyone who came in after us sat down they all were greeted with water. Come to find out the man that actually was our waiter was at the bar texting instead of greeting us and taking our orders. It was a nice restaurant but all the worker walked past and ignored us knowing we had nothing on our table
We have eaten at Jackson 20 for years but never had this problem. I must say that this experience has really soured us on the restaurant.
The wait staff never acknowledged our presence.
We got up and left after waiting at our table for over 15 minutes for any sort of service. No one acknowledged us. No waiter ever walked by to provide water, an update, nothing. After 15 minutes of frustration and hunger, we just got up and walked out. The hostess staff looked bothered by our arrival, and they didn't seem to care that we left. In fact, when we drove by 5 minutes later, our napkins and menus were still on the table that we were sitting at. It seemed like no one cared to be bothered by us.
Instead, we walked right into Vermillion (a great restaurant down the street) and had a great brunch. They have some of the best service in town and creative food.
Food was ok - nothing outstanding. It was a warm day and no attention was paid to keeping our drinks filled and iced.
Food was excellent. Highly recommend the veal dish.
The menu seems much different and pricier since they got a new chef. We ended up going during restaurant week to celebrate a birthday and overall had a good experience. Service was excellent and the food was tasty.
We attended this week for Food week. The food was mediocre at best. We sat for an hour and had only received our starter during that time. The restaurant was not busy at all either. The appetizers were by far the best part of the meal. The pasta, was not made correctly by far and tasted like olive oil and nothing else. We were so hungry by that point it wasn’t worth sending back, since it took so long just to get that. The grits were hard on my friends dish. I am definitely disappointed with this place.
Amazing, interesting food. Great, personable service & other staff. Enjoyed atmosphere & pottery plates! Excellent in every way!!
The place itself was under staffed however they made up for it with the delicious food.
I had a reservation here for 7 people for my sister’s bachelorette party. We ate brunch. We were extremely late because we didn’t plan well for the water taxi and they were kind enough to accommodate us right away when we arrived anyway. Service was excellent. Drinks always refilled and asked if we wanted another round of the alcoholic beverages. Food was delicious, delivered in a timely manner. Server was knowledgeable about the menu and town. Overall excellent experience! I would highly recommend!!
Food was good, had to return mashed potatoes because they were not hot. Three of our party loved their shrimp and grits. My pork chop was good but lots of fat. Husband enjoyed the short ribs. Sides were very tasty.
Server was attentive but in addition to our table she had tables outside so was missing some of the time. She took good care of us.
Went for Sunday brunch. Service was very good - staff attentive to refills and other requests. The food was tasty, but not incredible. I thought $14 for 2 medium pancakes and 2 sausage was a little pricey... Nice place and I would consider going there again.

The staff here is just incredible. Radouan is one o the better waiters I have had in the DC area, the drinks are great, and the food is incredible.
The food was okay.. the best part was the biscuit served in the beginning. The pork was over cooked when I ordered medium and the side of tomatoes was literally just tomatoes and basil. The country fried steak was heavy and not very good. The flatbread appetizer was okay. Not as exciting as I thought it would be.
We went to Jackson 20 because we liked their breakfast menu, especially the B.E.L.T. I was disappointed on looking at the menu to find this item and other old favorites gone. Our waiter explained that the restaurant has a new chef, trying new ideas and fresher ingredients. So we tried....I had the egg white omelet with basil and feta (delicious) and interesting tiny potatoes. My friend had the catfish tacos -- a very pretty plate with a side of salad and sliced cherry tomatoes. The quality was quite good. Our waiter was friendly but not overly intrusive. Bloody Mary s were on special at $5 each. Overall a pleasant experience.
My food was average at best, but my table mates really enjoyed their dishes. Service was awful. It was not busy at all, but they were extremely slow to even bring coffee. We had three different wait staff during our brunch.
My service at the Jackson 20 was very minimal. My biggest concern was that our server stole money by changing the tip value from 0.00 to 10.00 after her service was poor during our time.
Will become one of my favorite “go to” spots for brunch! Highly satisfying!
It was my husband's birthday yesterday so I decided to take him to Jackson20 for breakfast. The service and the quality of the food was amazing. We had a wonderful server name Mohamed. He was phenomenal! The price was fair and the presentation of the food was insane! We really enjoyed ourselves and will be coming back soon. Thank you Mohamed! You made our trip worth while!
Good selection of dishes for a brunch menu. I left very much wanting to return to order several other items on the menu!
It was not very crowded when we got there and our server was wonderful. Food was delicious.
The food was pretty good but service was lacking. I had a turkey club that wAs great but my daughter’s avocado toast had ridiculously hot peppers on it that were not mentioned on the menu and my husband ‘s flat bread had pickled onions all over it that were also not mentioned.
We used to love Jackson 20 but they recently changed their entire menu and stopped serving $3 mimosas for brunch. Please bring back old menu. It showed that quality of food and value has gone down too because usually every table packed at 10:30 am on Saturday now the restaurant was half empty. Hate writing this because love this spot but changes not for better. Now the menu and quality/value of food is just average and miss the southern inspired menu.
No draft beer selection due to bar issues. The charcuterie big board was very good. The duck was well prepared. Overall not a great or poor experience but just average for the price and venue. Go up the street to majestic for their coconut cake for desert.

Great space. Had the bourbon french toast which was amazing. Decently priced cocktails and great service in the heart of old town Alexandria. Great spot for a weekend brunch or just a quick breakfast.
Brunch was good, menu variety and moderately priced. Service was decent. Noise level reasonable. Overall very enjoyable but not memorable.
The advantage to Jackson 20 is its excellent location in Old Town Alexandria. The restaurant was medium noisy and bustling when we arrived for brunch. Our wait staff were courteous and responsive and our food was served promptly and to our order. The menu for brunch is standard and the food was tasty, but not extraordinary. Three of us had a nice time there catching up and then enjoying the town.
