Jacques' Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez Francois
Chef Jacques Haeringer
Service was great as always - the only issue was there was a table of six in the middle of the room that was incredibly loud. They spoke very loud so others needed to speak loud and the room was the loudest we had seen it before. This was not the restaurants fault in any way and once that group finished, it was much more enjoyable.
The relaxed feel and caring service make this a wonderful place to enjoy a weeknight out. The burger was spectacular as always!
The experience at Jacques is always excellent. Sitting outside when the weather is nice is a treat. Their garden is very quaint and well done. Jacques has become our go-to spot! Highly recommend!!!
This is not a big restaurant so it’s best for 1 or 2 couples !
I got up this morning and thought today is a good day for Jacques' Brasserie. Any day is. I could spend hours there. I already had planned in my head what I was going to get. Jacques' is beautiful, cozy and welcoming. We walked in to a greeting from Dany, we adore him. He already knew our drinks, the Pumpkin Spiced White Russian for me. I'm so happy they added this drink to the menu. My husband loves the Sage Cape Cod. We cannot get enough of the cottage cheese spread with garlic toast. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted but today I changed it up. I got the French toast and I'm happy I did. It had almost a burlee texture. It had fresh berries and Virginia maple syrup. My husband got one of his favorite things, the omelet with country ham, spinach and goat cheese. The food is always wonderful. The couple next to us picked Jacques' Brasserie to celebrate their 68th anniversary. It is a perfect place to celebrate.
Never fails to exceed expectations, and the place I go for all my special dinner occasions.
Service was excellent and food was delicious!
The restaurant is so noisy I would hesitate going back
The food is excellent. The portions are decent without being overwhelming. The waiters are well trained. There is a garden which appears to be pleasant, but a bit too cold on the night we were there. My guest wanted to eat inside.
We ate early at 6pm on a Sunday. The noise level was subtle at first. However, by the time a rather small and crowded dining room cellar filled after appetizers and drinks, you had to strain to hear a guest speak who sat across from you. Keep this in mind, if you are trying to dine quietly.
Well. What can you say about the Brasserie. It was a beautiful day. The service is alway tremendous. The food is consistently great.
I almost hate to tell everyone how special it is....you might make it difficult for me to get a table. It’s why we go at least once a month.
As always Chez Francois will meet expectations for any diner. Food, Service, Atmosphere are wrapped into a neat bundle of satisfaction. Yesterdays lunch of their filet mignon burger with frites topped off with a world class souffle was pure joy.
Superb, as always. Magnefique
We dined at Jacques's Brasserie for dinner this week. Having only been to L'Auberge Chez Francois previously, we were pleasantly rewarded with the cozy, rustic charm of the surroundings and delicious culinary offerings from the kitchen. The house special was savory and left just enough room for a cup of coffee with Jacques's grand mere's bread pudding, a mouth watering treat. the sirloin was cooked to perfection and paired well with Lost Rhino IPA, followed by an old-time favorite Grand Marnier souffle. Of course, the dining experience would be nothing without the welcoming, attentive service of the staff, including Jacques, who made us feel like personal guests in their own home. We will definitely return.
Excellent as always! Love the bread assortment with the ricotta cheese. Standout dishes are the charcuterie board, French onion soup (best ever), escargot, sweetbread; the trout, beef tenderloin, choucroute. For me, the veal scallopini with ham was a tad too salty.
We always order the plum tart, which is the perfect combination of fruit, crust, cinnamon ice cream and whipped cream. Also highly recommend the bread pudding.
Service is always attentive, professional and competent.
One of our favorite restaurants for consistently excellent food and outstanding service. Jacques' is reminiscent of our favorite Alsatian restaurants. Great place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Love Jacques’ Brasserie for brunch. It especially nice, when weather is permitting, to sit outside on the terrace. Staff is always friendly and service is always above par.
Wonderful meal. We were not rushed. We were assisted with wine options and I was able to order the duck off of the upstairs menu thankfully. It would be great if duck confit were on the regular menu all the time. It looks like it is a Wednesday special downstairs. It would be nice to be able to try more of the wines to make a more informed choice. Everyone was very nice. We live this enchanted location in the Virginia woods.
Always the same. Great service and amazing menu.
As always a lovely meal with impeccable service.
It is the best restaurant to go to in our area! The food, servers and atmosphere are outstanding!
Such a welcoming place to enjoy fabulous food on our anniversary!
As always chez Francois delivers an experience of what’s its like to enjoy eating out. I always leave feeling content.
Fabulous atmosphere and food, as usual. We enjoyed a leisurely meal with lots of time for talking, and all the staff members were happy to see us. We feel like family.
Our favorite place to dine and we've never been disappointed.
Always enjoy dinner at L'Auberge. Food and service is exceptional.
Everything was wonderful!! We enjoyed our dinner and the service!!
I was so excited to try Jacq
There are now many good to great dining choices in the metro area. The L’Auberge, upstairs/downstairs, has always been our standard to rate others on all aspects of a dining experience. They have never failed to deliver. The noice level in the Brasserie can be a bit much at times; but this is the fault of some of the patrons who are understandably enjoying themselves, not the intimate nature of the Brasserie.
Excellent all around!
Outstanding experience. Food, presentation, and atmosphere were wonderful. They called earlier in the day to reconfirm our reservation. We were very warmly welcomed upon our arrival. The menu and specials of the day were clearly explained. Our server, Sandra, was excellent. She was very friendly. Obviously enjoyed serving and explaining to us the various menu and and drink options. The menu is extensive. We had a difficult time making our selections. Finally, selected one of the veal dishes and steak with a bearnaise sauce. Also enjoyed a souffle for desert.
This is a must go to Brasserie. Very quaint. When the weather is warmer, would be an excellent choice for outdoor dining or drinks on the patio.
Such a warm and comforting place for a night out - and the food is amazing!
Wonderful food and service as always. A great alternative to the more formal dining upstairs.
Always an enjoyable experience in a cozy atmosphere.
Pure love! So if you haven't been to Jacques' Brasserie, you need to go. Imagine all the wonderful food from L'Auberge Chez Francois but with a more casual setting. A beautiful bar and comfortable seating. I think of Jacques' Brasserie like a little secret. Must tries on drinks: Sage Cape Cod, Amer Siedel and my new favorite - Pumpkin Spiced White Russian. All the cocktails are unique creations. Your table gets another unique creation, garlic toast with cottage cheese spread. I could eat it every day. The homemade breads are perfect with the soups. Jacques' makes the perfect soups. I love them all but I especially love the Lentil soup as well as the Split Pea. You will seriously want to lift the bowl and pour it in your mouth. Since I have manners, I use the bread to get every single drop. As far as the main courses, how can you go wrong? Always look at the specials because they really are special. For example the Friday night special is Lobster Thermidor and there is the Sunday chicken that has puff pastry and a beautiful sauce with vegetables on the side. Right now the Sunday special is Le Saumon Soufflé that has a lovely medley of textures. I almost always get the roquefort tart. I love it. I also love the raspberry soufflé. Something else I love, the service. It is over the top. Dany is so special. We always look forward to seeing his smile. We also absolutely love Chef Jacques and Carol. They are always welcoming, they care about their customers. This is a love fest of wonderful food, service and comfort.
I am from France and this place is the closest I have had to true French food. I will go back for sure. Only negative point is $9 for a double espresso is just pure rip off.
The brunch was fantastic! We look forward to a return visit soon. Merci!
Danny is the best. He always make our time at Jacques so special. Thanks again.
Very nice casual alternative to the main restaurant at L'Auberge Chez Francois. Excellent food. Great service.
GREAT food, but very overpriced. Example : over 25 dollars for a bowl of beef stew. French restaurants in Annapolis MD 30 to 50 percent less expensive, with comparable quality.
