Jacques' Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez Francois
Chef Jacques Haeringer
There was a customer smoking in the parking lot close to our table. That was annoying.
The curcieture appetizer should have been served with toast. It was not. Waiter should have brought bread with the curcieture. He did not.
Enjoyed a fantastic meal, as usual, on the patio. The food, service, and weather were all fantastic!
We have been to Jacques about ten times and it never fails. Food is great. Knowledgeable servers and wonderful drinks/wine. Creative and well prepared French bistro cooking. We will be back many times to come
Too crowded but excellent
Had a great birthday dinner here. Ordered the Roquefort salad, chicken breast, and plum tart. All were delicious. My husband loved his salmon and onion soup. I enjoyed it as much as a dinner upstairs at Le Auberge Chez Francois, although it is a much more casual experience of course.
It will become our tradition to delicious dining out in the peaceful wonderful garden atmosphere.
Great location for birthday lunch Excellent food, service and ambiance Love the new awning over patio
Thanks for the birthday pavlova
The ambience on the patio in the evening is wonderful!
We love Jacques' and this was the perfect ending to our weekend. Jacques' is very special to us. My husband had a birthday this past weekend. We go a lot to Jacques especially for brunch but today we opted for a late lunch. I started with the French onion soup which was wonderful. Very bold broth. I also had one of my favorite things in life, the roquefort tart. I got the special vegetable of the day which was different and I really enjoyed it - the corn casserole which was baked with cheese. I got a side of the vegetables (carrots, potatoes and green beans), all fresh. Beautiful vegetables. My husband got the seafood pasta and ended with the raspberry soufflé. I was happy they sent over a dessert for his birthday as well. The meringue over ice cream is AMAZING! I love when someone has a birthday so I can have some. We love this restaurant.
Brasserie is quiet, elegant, and romantic!
Great French bistro food in a relaxed and casual setting on an outdoor patio. This is the more relaxed version of the white tablecloth Auberge upstairs with food just as well prepared. Great wine list
Another wonderful dinner on the patio. Both the food and the weather were great! Enjoyed the appetizers, especially the tomato salad, the seafood, and the souffles. It's great for quiet conversation.
It was a very busy Friday night with a big party outside. Service was not as attentive as we have come to appreciate. We had to inquire about our wine order which was not brought to us and had to ask for our bill which took a long time to come. Food was delicious.
As always, we enjoyed the amazing food, great wine and especially our gracious, friendly hosts from the maitre’ de, our waiter, the support staff and Sommelier. The Brasserie feels like our home away from home
Food was the same as upstairs, excellent. Plus, you could have a smaller meal because it was ala carte. However, the rathskeller decor and close proximity of the tables inside made it noisy and not very private. We had some folks at the next table who compensated by talking loudly and abrasively, which detracted from our dinner. So I would only use the covered patio, weather permitting, if you go there.
The service was generally good, but a bit slow and confused at times. However, we prenotified that this was a special occasion but there was no acknowlegement at any time when we were there.
The restaurant staff, service, ambiance and food are just amazing! You truly feel you stepped into a French Countryside Restaurant. A Special Treat and cannot wait to return for another Wonderful Experience!!
Never been disappointed
I love the new patio!! A great spot for brunch or dinner. The food is consistently fantastic. Anything you order will arrive perfectly cooked. Right now the gardens are overflowing with perfect tomatoes. Chef is usually there running between the kitchen and the garden to serve the freshest produce grown on the premises. The service always compliments the fabulous cuisine.
Charming brasserie with excellent food in what seems like the middle of the country. The outdoor dining area is beautiful.
The food was excellent - we had the beef bourguignon and medallions of beef tenderloin at our table and all four of us cleaned our plates the food was so good. The service was also very good. We will definitely return and highly recommend.
Everything was wonderful, we ate on the patio which was delightful. I had mussels which were delicious, the best I ever had. The waitress was very nice and attentive.
Amazing food and drink. Service was quick, polite, accurate, and very sweet.
Excellent alternative to the more pricey L'Auberge. The Brasserie is located downstairs from the main dining room in a cozy setting. If you can dine in nice weather, I highly recommend the lovely patio area.
First time to Brassiere. It is a great place for casual dining. As always L'Auberge did not disappoint. Everything was first class and very reasonably priced. We'll make this a regular stop from now on.
Another wonderful dinner at Jacques on the patio. The crab cake and beef medallions were superb as usual. Thank you.
My all-time favorite restaurant! I've been going to Chez Francois for many years. If you've never been, you should definitely go!
Love love love it!
It was a very busy evening at Jacque’s which contributed to the only two negatives of the evening — a noise level that nearly precluded dinner conversation and unusually slow service. We had to wait a significant amount of before ultimately flagging down our waiter to order, an incorrect first course was brought to the table for one of our party (which was quickly corrected), and it took quite a while to get our waiter’s attention to bring the check. Our waiter was inattentive, at best, although appeared to be quite busy with tables inside and outside. We’ve dined at Jacque’s several times and this was the first poor service experience we’ve had.
Most excellent in every way. Always a treat
Always a treat, always delicious. We always enjoy Jacques' especially the service. It is a beautiful setting. Feels like you are eating at a Inn on a countryside and really you are. Great Falls is the perfect setting for L'Auberge Chez Francois and Jacques' Brasserie. My favorite items at Jacques is the roquefort tart, lentil soup, split pea soup, beef bourguignon and of course the soufflé's. They are amazing. My husband loves the Sunday chicken special which is puff pastry with a delicious sauce, veggies and of course chicken. I always ask for a bite. He loves the seafood pasta as well. Everything is very good.
We were fortunate to eat in the garden under an umbrella. The atmosphere was lovely. Service fantastic. Food delicious. I had mussels as appetizer, salmon with dill sauce, and plum tarte.
The food and ambiance was as good as always but the service was really not at their normal level. Our table appeared to be the only one our server had in doors and the rest were outside. This means our server was never around and she was slow to take our order and then the Maitre'D got our wine for us. Clearly if the outdoors is the preferred option due to lovely weather, the wait staff should not be split between inside and out.
This is our favorite restaurant. It's a slice of a European vacation for one day or night.
Excellent meal on the beautiful patio area overlooking the garden. Can’t wait to go back!
Always great. Food and service.
Delightful sitting outside enjoying cocktails and a wonderful dinner.
This review is more about the service we received and less about the food, which was as delicious as usual. My wife and I are regulars and this was our 2-year-old daughter's third time visiting Jacques' Brasserie. It was my wife's birthday, so we were celebrating by dining "al fresco" under the newly installed red canopy when a strong summer storm swiftly came rolling through. It was exciting, with the thunder and lightning and driving rain, but the water found its way to us so we relocated to an inside table. The frequenters dining next to us helped us with our bags and the waiters helped bring in our glasses of wine and bread plates. We resumed dinner in the lively atmosphere of our fellow patrons. All in all, we were extremely pleased with our dining experience and, because of the unexpected weather, the waitstaff made the extra effort to ensure this was a treat; it will not be soon forgotten. Bon appetite!
I went to Jacques’Brasserie for the second time in 4 years to celebrate some good news I received on August 1st. My friend had to cancel on me, and I was 10 minutes late (but I called 25 minutes ahead of time to notify I was running 10 minutes late).
It was a great experience regardless of being alone.
Fabulous garlic bread and trout.
