Went on Saturday night and was left waiting for 45mins
Was not happy at all
So we had to leave and was very disappointed as we had made these plans early in the week.
Will not be returning as staff attitude was awful also
Had a lovely lunch and drinks at Jamie’s Manchester. Food was very fresh and delicately prepared. Service was great too. Best restrooms ever!
Very pleasant evening was had by all - lovely food washed down by a very nice bottle of red or two !
Everything was just excellent- no faults at all. We were given a private room as there were 9 of us and we got the kids food free!!!
After a bit of a wait, I asked if this the normal speed of service, then everything just got better & better! Joseph, our waiter had overheard, and switched it up to make our night really special. The food was gorgeous, as was the wine, I couldn’t find anything to criticise at all. Needless to say, we’ll be going again.
Service poor. Had to wait ages for waiter to take order and then deliver courses. Food beautiful though .
Having eaten here several times before and really enjoyed the experience this visit was very disappointing. Previously the staff have been very friendly and knowledgable but we found the waitress to have little time for us and was ungrateful for the tip which was probably more than the service deserved. Additionally my wife is gluten intolerant and the menu used to be very good with lots of choice but on this visit it appears that the menu has changed and options were limited.
Value for money, excellent and very friendly table service with seemingly plenty of knowledge of the dishes. Great value especially when you consider the location it is set in and good value house wines. There were five of us in the group - only one was slightly disappointed with the portion size.
Although very busy on a Saturday ar 5pm, our pre booked table was ready within 15mins and the staff were brilliant and food excellent
We booked this for our anniversary and was not disappointed. The service was brilliant and they presented our desserts on a wooden board with chocolate hearts and candles. It was a very special touch. Will be going back soon.
We chose Jamie's on Valentine's day as it appeared not to offer a set menu, we were not told on booking that it would be, and checking the website a week before also mentioned nothing. We were disappointed to then be handed a set menu on arrival which was disappointing as it gave a distinct lack of choice.
On arrival we were also sat in a booth in the bar area, which had no valentines/romantic feel due to customers coming in and out using the bar and large tables which seat 6 people took away from what should have been a romantic cosy setting. This is despite booking before Christmas.
Overall the service was good but the food (being a set menu) had a mass produced and reheated feel.
This visit was disappointing as we have been to Jamie's previously and this is a big contrast in what I know restaurant can offer.
We ate here on Valentine's night and there was a great atmosphere in the restaurant and our server was fantastic. She was on the ball with food and drink and made us feel very special. Which made a great night even better.
Would really recommend eating here and the olives are a must.
Food amazing had three courses; calves liver and king scallop stand out.
Platter of desserts looked delicious but we were too full. Had sour cherry and almond tart and pavlova - gorgeous.
Service was very good, asked to be moved and done no problem.
Main issue for me was the seating. Crammed in and if you sit on the outside your being knocked whenever someone comes by. It's annoying. Asked to be moved because given a table ( had before) right at the end upstairs with constant people traffic and a draft. Moved to slightly better one but next to service area so still lots of traffic.
I know you need the covers but take a little hit provide us more space between tables please especially for those on the outside!
The food and service were of a high standard. The ambience loses points because of the constant background noise created by the piped music echoing around the building, a beautiful Victorian bank used imaginatively as a restaurant. Overall a bit expensive for lunch at £16 per head, with no drinks or coffee, for a main and shared olives. However, as a special treat we enjoyed it. We were just glad to return to the street to give our ears a rest!
Went to Jamie's with work friends for a retirement celebration. The food and service were excellent. Great atmosphere!!!! The staff could not do enough for us!!! I would recommend it to anybody!
good service, we did not wait a long time for the food, the food was great, and affordable. Only the bear was a bit thin - didnt taste as much... but the brownie with vanilla ice cream. Damn it was delicious!!
We booked for 6pm but arrived early at 5pm, it was quiet at that time so we were seated quickly..
Meal was lovely and we went for starters and cocktails too which we wouldn't normally.
Staff were attentive and friendly, the food excellet and we left to the theatre wondering when we will next return!
Oh, and we were very impressed by the building, I won't give anything away but worth a visit!!
The private room was so fun we were going to see Peter Kay Phoenix nights and were able to watch clips via our phone through system in room .food soon delicious and lovely waitress... Will recommend and go back again . Beautiful building too .
We were looking for somewhere to eat before going to the Manchester arena, my nephew highly recommended Jamies Italian so he booked us a table. We were met by very pleasant staff both at the reception and at the bar, we were shown to our table which was up stairs so we had a good view of the whole restaurant (very impressive). The service by the waiter was very good and his knowledge of the menu was excellent, being able to answer our questions very well, when the food arrived it was very well presented and cooked to perfection (I had turkey milanese and the girlfriend had the seafood linguine) .
We would highly recommend going to this restaurant, the value for money was vey good.
This restaurant is really nicely and unusually decorated which makes it great for a group booking. Our waitress was very nice and most importantly the food was gorgeous and reasonably priced.
Disappointed with the food I had the special chicken tagliatelle but the sauce was watery and had very little taste had to keep putting on salt and pepper eventually asked for some Parmesan which did make it taste a little better. I have been to this restaurant before and had a lovely meal very tasty but unfortunately not this time.
Had a table booked for 8.45. By 9.45 still waiting for the table nobody communicating to let us know what was going on. We then got seated and kept having to call waitress over to take our order(around 15mins). Did this on two occasions. Food was fantastic so worth the wait but the service was awfull. Would reccomend just for the food.
Lovely setting, fast, attentive service. Staff knowledgeable of menu. Only negative is that the tables are very close together, you could not have a private conversation here.
Went 5pm with my mother for pre theatre dinner. We were 1/2 an hour late for the table and when I rang to explain they couldn't have been more helpful. The place was packed, not a spare seat in the house. We sat upstairs on the mezzanine balcony with a great view of the bar, kitchen and downstairs. We had a meat platter to share as a starter, plenty for us and the olives were to die for. I had a turkey escalope and my mother, liver and onions. We were too full for dessert, both meals were excellent. Our server was fantastic, knowledgable and helpful without being over bearing. The bill was £60 with 2 drinks each. Good value for well cooked food, served efficiently in a wonderful restaurant. Would recommend and will definitely return.
We arranged to meet family here for a surprise birthday lunch for my dad, who had never been before. We all love the building and think the space has been used really well. The only very small complaint is some of the party had a drink already and others didn't but we had to wait about half an hour until we ordered the food to order drinks! We seemed to get forgotten about. Other than that, the staff were lovely, food was incredible and we had a lovely afternoon there! All of the party have said they would return!
we visited as a couple for an early evening meal after work on Friday evening. There were quite a few other diners in situ and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. the service was efficient but not intrusive. as gold card members we received a little taster of soup while we perused the menu. the food was tasty and rustic. i had the cod fillet special and the fish was perfectly cooked. dessert was delish. all in all a lovely evening
The staff were very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. Service was prompt but not hurrird. The food looked good and was hot and tasty.
Environment / ambieance interesting and a little quirky.
A value for Monet meal experience,
My girlfriend and I went for a dinner and I have to say it was brilliant.
The food was amazing and for a busy Friday evening the service was quick and efficient.
Our waitress(Louise) was very friendly and put herself available for anything we wanted.
Cannot wait to go back again.
Fantastic food and service. Great beer( Libertà)
Wonderful interior. My girlfriend and I visited Jamie´s 3 times because we loved his food, books and TV shows.
I was thoroughly disappointed with my experience on mine and my husband’s first visit to one of your Restaurants.
Firstly this was supposed to be a special evening due to the fact it was my Husbands 60th Birthday. He was wished Happy Birthday on arrival. I asked at the time of booking for a quite table which was not provided.
All the other tables had a little tea light on their table we had nothing on ours.
My food was presented in a cereal bowl which was really dry.
You had no vanilla ice cream.
I noticed being presented to other guests a cake with a candle and Happy Birthday written on the plate which I thought was a lovely gesture, my husband received nothing.
Considering this was my first experience at one of Jamie Oliver’s Restaurants it really wasn’t the best and feel really upset that this was a special birthday and it was ruined .Look forward to receiving your response
Myself and my husband regularly visit Jamie’s. It is one of our favorite restaurants. Service great, food and cocktails excellent! I would highly recommend to diners to get the Jamie’s members card. Each month there is an offer and a free taster pre food. This visit we got £10 off our bill which was a nice surprise and the taster was a soup. Great afternoon lunch and we will be back!
Served really quickly, Great food, steak was fab, as was chicken dish. Lovely friendly waitress (Kim) highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return if in Manchester again 😊
I booked for a party of 10 at Jamie's Italian in Manchester after a work's theatre trip. The booking process was easy and well done. The building the retaurant is housed in is fabulous and the toilets are a marvel! The service we received was very good and the waiters attentive. The food quality was generally OK but the lamb ragu (one of the specials - had by 3 of our party) which was sold to us as "falling of the bone" due to the length of cooking was tough and had obviously not been though this process. The dish was also dry and would have benefitted from more sauce. Another of our party had the another special - sea bass. This was a tasty dish but my colleague was a bit miffed at the price of the dish (£21.95) as it was not displayed anywhere or stated at the time of ordereing. I realise that she could have asked the price but this may cause embarassment should she not want it due to the price. Overall our party was happy with the restaurant and would come again but maybe we would come during the week when the quality of food may be better due due to less people ordereing at the same. time.
After having late lunch at Jamie's with my wife we decided to take our 2 boys, aged 9 & 6 and their Sicilian grandparents after a matinee show at the Palace. The setting is in an amazing building and we got chance to show the lads the vault. The food was lovely, we all had 3 courses and every one of us enjoyed what we had, I especially recommend the squid ink pasta. The kids menu was perfect and presentation as good as the adult meals, which made the boys feel they were getting a real treat. Overall, excellent value for money, great food, good service and will definately be returning.
Just to go and see the building itself is something, but the food is great here
Once again another enjoyable meal at Jamie's italian before heading off to the theartre, amazing value & all staff are lovely & especially Greta, thank's so much once again see ya soon : )
Had an 8.30 booking had to wait 20 mins for table in which time we had looked at the menu and chosen our options - baring in mind it's not a massive menu - only to sit down to be told there was no chicken, pork beef or another option and there were only 2 lamb left! Pretty much meant there was burger, lobster or pasta left! Not great for prime time Saturday evening! We don't really do complaining unless food is unedible and we didn't this time either but definitely put us off going again. We didn't get anything complimentary or reduced surew to the fact the menu was halved!
Make sure you book a table in advance as otherwise the wait could be over an hour. The second time we booked ahead and had a great time, despite being very busy the service was excellent.
This is a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere it was busy but you still felt like they paid attention to you. The waitress was very nice and explained things well to us.
excellent service and really good atmosphere, good choice of menu for adults and kids
