Joe Theismann's Restaurant
I had the NY Strip steak salad and the steak was so tough it was inedible. In the end they comped my meal but I had to ask for it and talk to the manager.
Comfortable atmosphere. Great hamburger and food overall very good and reasonable prices.
Excellent food and service !! We had burgers all around but the steak dinner at the next table looked incredible !!!
Food was okay. Service was okay. Nothing was extra ordinary
Food is always extremely good; the wait staff always does a great job and are friendly/professional however our waitress had way too many tables to cover. The decibel level, following the renovation, is very high. All-in-all, this is one of our ‘go to’ places.
A great spot to watch a game; newly renovated sleek bar; easy to make lively conversation if you're in the mood. Service was excellent. Food was well prepared, typical of a casual bar/restaurant. The calamari was crispy as written and the right amount of chew. The Butcher's Burger was tasty; sides of creamed spinach which was a little thin, and garlic mashed potatoes which were lacking in a little zip, were okay. Wednesday's half-price wine bottle program on an excellent selection of very good bottles was a bonus.
Food was great.
waiter was also tending bar
He was good when he paid attention.
Service was slow.
It was very very noisy.
We've been coming here for a long time and are adjusting to the changes. It seems much louder inside lately and we choose to sit outside. In a way, a design update was needed after so many years. We've been playing the football pool many years and still waiting for the weekly results to be posted somewhere in the restaurant. No one will want to play if you can't see the results.
Convenient location, reasonable price. It was pretty noisy.
I thought the new renovations looked great, but the noise level made it very hard to talk. We moved to the outside patio. Food was great!
The crab cakes were excellent but the bugler was so so , ok but not outstanding. The Oreo cheese cake was very good.
L O V E the renovations! The new bar area is beautiful and the dining areas are warm & cozy! Victor was an awesome server & our meal was delicious. Thank you!
I’m a longtime Theismann’s customer who didn’t think it was possible that the noise level could increase on game days after the renovation. But it did. The solution clearly is to avoid the big game days. Otherwise, like the brunch food and price points, our server was super, and look forward to less boisterous crowds in the quieter hours.
Went for brunch the food and service were great.
If you like Crab Cakes, you will LOVE JTs!!!
The place is nice. Good sports venue, with enough TVs and space. The food was not overwhelming but maybe if stuck to bar food it would have been better. The appetizers and wings etc were all very good but the entree’s were average at best. I think this restaurant for a guys night out of beer & munchies is great. I will give dinner another try because anyone can have an off night.
A word of caution with the Metro construction parking is at a premium. While the hotel next door says free parking while at Theismann’s because I didn’t return with my receipt from the restaurant I was charged the parking fee.
Another wonderful meal at Theismann’s. Lovely food and drinks, reasonably priced and superb service (thanks Peter).
If you haven’t eaten here, you should. It’s a tremendous restaurant, even if you aren’t a Redskins fan!
Nice but inside dining room VERY load
The new decor is a bit on the "modern" side and not exactly my taste, but the menu is essentially unchanged and the food was spectacular! The staff is exceptional and exceptionally attentive. Can't wait to go back.
Good Food and Good Service!
Went for brunch, bloody Mary's were too spicy. Poached eggs on avacado toast were too runny and I would have liked more avacado for the price. Service was confusing. Shining star were the donut holes.
They have raised the music so you have to shout to have a conversation. My favorite sandwich “Reuben” hardly had any meat, mostly very thick bread, also no coleslaw . The server brought me the wrong sandwich and when I pointed out to her that it wasn’t a Reuben, she had to check with someone rather than immediately taking it away. I will not return and it’s a shame because the restaurant is in the same complex where I work.
First Redskin’s home game.
Enjoyable, but fairly loud. The menu has changed since last winter and is not as broad or attractive to us. There was no salt on the table (plenty of pepper) but the dishes seemed to!be on the salty side.
Will probably return later in the season (tradition).
Made a reservation on A Friday night. Quite crowded, people waiting for a table when we arrived, we were seated immediately at a very comfortable booth. Service was excellent, food was good, prices were very reasonable. Only disappointment, they advertise happy hour from 3-7, not available at dinner tables. Reservations were EZ to make on the app. Would definitely return in the future.
Theisman's should have remained closed until all renovations were completed.
Not happy with the new emphasis on being a sports bar.
They did away with the booths and went for a lounge area.
The music during this visit was overwhelming.
We sat outside, as it was a nice evening. I'm sure everyone will be glad when the construction is completed.
In their defense, they're in the middle of a renovation. Having said that...we had no idea until we arrived. It would have been helpful to know this when I made the reservation and again when I called the day of to increase my numbers. There was no mention that there would be no air conditioning until we arrived, which didn't allow us time to find another restaurant. Also, the management has changed and therefore some of the menu items have changed. The fries are different and I recommend reverting back to the old fries. The service was great, as usual. Always friendly and helpful. I might go again but not until the renovations are finished.
Can't wait to see the renovations completed
under construction with no air condition
Sports bar- thought it was a steak house
menu's offerings were sports bar level
The food was excellent. Everyone was very pleased with their selections. Service was also great.
Unfortunately the restaurant was under construction and the air conditioning was also out of service. To their credit, the staff did call and left a voicemail message about the AC. We didn’t receive that message until after our meal. Nevertheless, points for trying to inform us.
Once the renovations are complete and the AC repaired, I’m confident Joe Theismann’s will deliver a 5-star experience.
Renovation being done
No mention on door or when making reservations
Literally plastic taped to the wall
Sat in dining room with a portable noisy air conditioner running
The temp in the room had to be 75 degrees
Waiters and bus staff sweating
Big mistake going there
Went to Landini instead
Had a cool delicious dinner
Food was awesome despite the construction current ongoing. We will come back because the food excellent
We have a nice brunch for 4 on Sunday. One of the diners has a severe food allergy and the waiter was responsive and careful, so we had no issues. All 4 meals were tasty and sitting outside was very pleasant!! May be our go to brunch place!!!
Great sports bar!
Food was good, slow service, and they are under major renovation and had no AC.
Didn’t know they were renovating when I booked the reservation. AC was not working properly so restaurant was very hot on this 95-degree day. On a positive note, food was good and our server was outstanding.
The restaurant is under construction, but still open. I have been there before construction and will go back once it's completed.
Great food and service it was just under renovation during our visit.
With all the construction going on, dinner was crowded and the service was slow. We won’t return until after the construction is completed.
The construction was a little overwhelming. The food was fantastic as usual and service was great. When the renovations are complete it will be great. Until then I will wait.
