Joseph Ambler Inn
Food was delicious. Ambience is wonderful. Hostess was not friendly and they kept saying they were busy. Which was extremely annoying
The Inn has charming 1700s buildings, friendly and highly capable staff, and excellent food. They were very attentive to detail.
I dont think the service was worth the price. The food was great and we enjoyed the live music. But the service was subpar.
Great food, location and history; main dining area was quite noisy
We are hosting our wedding at JAI in November and took both sets of parents to dinner to get them acquainted with the place. The food was outstanding, as always, and the ambiance is always great. We always look forward to returning and can't wait to celebrate with family and friends at our wedding!
Beautiful atmosphere, great food & service, but a tad on the pricey side.
Came back for our one year anniversary and everything was perfect! We had complimentary champagne and dessert, the food was exceptional, service was great! We’ll be back for our next anniversary! Thank you JAI!!
We spent 4 wonderful hours catching up with some friends we haven’t seen for several years! Kevin, our server, gave us plenty of time to simply talk and visit, with no pressure to hurry up and order or work our way through courses. The setting is lovely, and we were delighted to end the night by simply climbing up to our room in the same building. The included brunch the next morning was great as well.
The service was on pont .VERY ATTENTIVE. Quiet atmosphere for a special occasion. Definately recommend
We went for our anniversary and had a lovely experience.
We like to eat outside when the weather allows. Joseph Ambler has one of the nicest patios. We were very happy to be able to bring our own wine.
Been to the Inn at least 4 times now in the past year. The food is excellent and thoughtfully prepared. The surroundings are beautiful.
Very good overall experience. First time eating here...the prix fixe was a nice value that we took advantage of...eating al fresco on the covered patio was a bonus on a perfect night in a beautiful setting.
Dinner outside. Very nice. Generous serving of excellent breads. Both ordered salads but could have shared one. Entres were very good but a little pricey. Very good cocktails. Excellent professional service.
Great atmosphere, good food and service. Highly recommended!
Been going here for years; can't go wrong. Love the patio in the summer plus BYOW Friday and Sunday (patio and dining room, not the pub), no corkage fee.
Restaurant is lovely, grounds are beautiful. Ordered steak, and it was very bad. The meat was really tough, and not worth the price.
Very over priced for the quality of the food. Service was not up to expectations. The window sills next to the table were not clean.
We had a wonderful time. Great food and nice environment.
Very quiet. Very courteous staff in restaurant and at the inn. Really enjoyed the seafood pasta dish.
We had a lovely meal in a very nice quiet atmosphere. It was a pleasure to have good food, and good service, and to be able to have a conversation without loud noise!
We were a party of 4 for lunch and were seated in a nice, quiet corner table. The menu was just large enough to offer choices for every taste, but was not so overwhelming to cause us to take a lot of time to make a selection. There is a prix fixe section that offers an appetizer, entrée and dessert for $25 which is a great bargain with an excellent selection under each category. We all had a glass of house wine which was good and was a very generous quantity. We have been to Joseph Ambler Inn several times and have never been disappointed.
Excellent dining experience. Great food.
I think this is my new favorite restaurant! They have a very nice lunch menu. Our food was delicious and the service was well-times. Great location, too.
Very enjoyable and Colleen was an excellent waitress!
Food was delicious cant wait to go back and maybe even stay at the inn looked very cute!
Joseph Ambler Inn is a hidden neighborhood jem! Step away from the business of Montgomeryville into the delights of the country by simply turning into the driveway. Dinner on the patio on a balmy summer evening brings thoughts of Tuscany or Provence. Wonderful service, ambience, drinks and food! BYO on Friday and Sunday! Don’t miss it!
Beautiful patio. Nice choices on prix fix good value. Great cocktails and desserts Great evening!
Beautiful summer evening to eat outside on their patio, good was good and plentiful. Service excellent. All courses came to the table perfectly timed. Carol, our server was very friendly!
The three course price fixed luncheon deal is a real bargain with many excellent selections. The outdoor dining patio is delightful with lovely shade offering protection from the sun’s rays. The pace is slow; be prepared to sit back, enjoy the food and ambiance.
This was my wife and my first visit. We were very pleased. There are a number of relatively small dinning spaces, that provide a sense of separation. The room we were in seemed to be one of the larger spaces. It was about half full, but one could easily carry on a conversation. Our server was very nice, prompt and helpful. The menu has a number of classic items along with more casual choices. I tried the sauteed foie gras -- it was very good. My wife had roast duck breast on a bed of polenta. I thought the polenta an interesting choice for the starch and it went very nicely. I had a seafood linguine with nicely sauteed shrimp and lightly prepared lobster. The portions were generous. There was a nice choice of deserts. The wine by the glass list is serviceable but nothing truly interesting. They had a nice beer list. In summary, a nice country restaurant and one we will eat at again.
We had a great waitress and our order was taken quickly food arrived in an appropriate amount of time and was very good. Four friends and all meals prepared properly and was excellent quality.
Sat in little room adjacent to entrance. There should be a curtain to block all the traffic around the front desk. Can be very distracting while dining.
Staff very accommodating and pleasant.
Had dinner here with work associates. We sat in the bar, as we wanted a little less formal dinner. Food was fine. Problem was it took 50 minutes for us to get our entrees after ordering. And no apology from anybody in the restaurant.
Our family had a truly fantastic evening dining outdoors. The service, food and ambience were simply the best!
We've eaten there many times, but never outside.
This is a gem of a place. Outdoor venue and property is a beautiful setting for dinner under the trellis or on the covered patio. The scallops, rib eye and salmon were delicious. Been introducing friends to this place last couple of summers and everyone remarks how special it is to dine in such a lovely setting. Wine list and cocktails outstanding!
Lovely atmosphere. Serene. live piano. I just wish the scallops hadn't been so very salty - could only eat two of the four as a result. The quinoa was just as salty. I said something. I'm not sure if it was relayed to the chefs.
