There is one word that describes Julies and that is quality. Good ambience, good food and good service
A very good restaurant. Lovely service and really good food. Will be going back with friends. Well worth going to.
I’ve wanted to go to Julie’s for a long time and our 10 year anniversary was a good reason. Julies did not disappoint. The service was above and beyond. We had a private nook and a free glass of bubbles. The food was amazing. I can’t wait to go back.
Fabulous food and wine, perfect relaxed atmosphere, exemplary service!
Best risotto I have ever had. Super cosy. Wonderful service.
All very good - plenty of space between tables, very helpful service and food great
Beautiful space, delicious food and friendly service. Can’t fault a thing! Definitely coming back!
Really great apart from the annoying background music. Had to raise our voices.
It was great to be back at Julie’s after some years of absence. Really enjoyed the fresh and varied menu, particularly the octopus, Summer vegetables and the stone bass. Desserts were delicious too, not too heavy. Attentive and friendly staff.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch good food good wine and brilliant and friendly staff
We had a lovely evening and almost forgot we were in the midst of a pandemic, the atmosphere was so relaxed & friendly - the staff were superb as was the food. Will be back!
Very friendly staff, great food and cosy smart atmosphere.
Nice atmosphere, tasty food and good service. Recommended
Hadn't been in many years. Loved the new decor and lovely to be greeted by the grandson of the original owners, and son of current owners. Outside is lovely too.
Gorgeous food, excellent service and a pleasure as always to go. Still excellent. My 75 year old dad has been going for 40 odd years and wasn’t disappointment. In an area where things change so often and so drastically, Julie’s is a stalwart if west London eating.. LOVELY
The risotto was to die for. Everything was great, superb service from the staff! Will be back.
great outdoor space, good food, great service, classy neighbourhood restaurant
We've been coming to Julie's since 1962, and missed it while it was shut. We are delighted to see it back, and the food was as good as ever, if not better.
This is a venue for those within the local postcode & of a certain demographic. Was not an amazing experience. Overpriced & underwhelming. Was greeted by the staff with “can I help you?” We were well dressed for my 1st anniversary and had a reservation. The food looks amazing on the menu but is bland & plain & seriously overpriced. I had the guinea fowl starter which was bland. My steak was cooked medium & not medium rare as I requested. The triple cooked chips were rock hard. If you want better dining go to the mitre, the Bonaparte, the cow or cepages. Sadly this venue is not for outsiders. You will be treated last to locals & it’s not to standards of Savoy, Dorchester etc.... I’d say avoid & look at other restaurants in W11
The entire evening of was a joy, the food and service lived up to our expectations and we shall return.
Very friendly and good waitering staff. Sat outside and enjoyed dinner. We ordered chicken liver parfait for starter, lamb and stone bass fillet for the main course which was delicious, and for dessert cheesecake and treacle tart. Our only criticisms which I hope is taken on board would be the chicken liver parfait and cheesecake. Unfortunately the liver parfait seemed a bit confusing (sweet biscuit and an overpowering and crunchy granola like crumble on top) Just keep the parfait simple and it's a winner. Secondly the cheesecake was very small, almost hidden under the meringue. Asides from those two, we had a good evening. Thanks!
Lovely setting, lovely menu - although the set menu wasn’t great - and lovely service.
A very disappointing meal.
We had booked an outside table but were seated inside. Not the end of the world but nothing improved. Service was slow overall. The waiter brought a soup starter, but no spoon so we had to get up to ask for it as no one came by and we couldn't make eye contact with anyone.
We ordered a beer and it never came, but it was on the bill. We waited well over an hour for mains, asked about them 3 times. When we asked, rather than check, the waiter simply said, ' 2 minutes'. That 2 minutes was never going to be correct. After querying the third time, with the manager, the manager offered us some free bread as we said we were hungry (worth a grand total of £2), but this actually never came. We ordered 3x steak and 1x lamb and sides. All meals very average. Although chips nice! One diner didn't enjoy the steak (tasteless) so ate a couple of mouthfuls and left it. Waiter never came around asking if everything was ok with the meal so no opportunity to note this. Said diner ended up getting a takeaway on the way home as left hungry.
When the bill came, we said we wouldn't pay for the one uneaten steak, to which the waiter said 'what the one you half ate'. We then said the beer never came and he said 'are you sure?' Yes mate, I'm pretty sure we are sure! And we didn't appreciate the back chat or being accused. He then proceeded to continue to argue with us until we said it would be more fruitful to speak to the manager.
We then went through all of this with her. To her credit, she was very apologetic but by this point, the meal was over. We asked them to remove the steak and the beer from the bill, but when we got the revised bill it didn't have the Eat Out to Help Out discount so we had to send it back again. We then had to send it back a third time as we didn't want to pay service due to the back chat from the waiter.
All in all quite a disappointment.
We had a very nice dinner at Julies. It is quite expensive, but the food was delicious. At first, we were disappointed with where they sat us so we asked to move. I wonder if they have their 'favourite' customers as it wasn't busy when we arrived, and we had prebooked so I expected more choice of where we could sit .... However, it got very busy later on.
Still, we had a lovely meal and the ambience, atmosphere and service were good. I will be back!
Great as always!
We just arrived home after an exceptionally disappointing lunch at what used to be a gem of a restaurant. On reading through the Google reviews I read the following review from Alexa P which could have been written by me. I ordered exactly the same courses and felt exactly the same way! My husband and I shared the cheese at the end of our meal and the biscuits had obviously been left out for days and were soft and chewy - the cheese was tasteless. After months in lockdown there are so many restaurants to try, and return to. Despite the restaurant only having three other tables of two outside, they seated us all on top of each other but made a huge issue of not taking our menus away or pouring our wine because of COVID-19 legislation! This will not be one we will give a second chance which is such a shame. Staff were untrained, unhelpful and the sommelier was arrogant.....

The service is appalling, the food sounds super special on the menu but it’s very disappointing and mediocre.
We booked outside but were seated inside, the hostess was actually super rude about it.
Liver parfait comes with a full on sugary oat biscuit that tastes like the ones you consume with your afternoon tea. Hardly any parfait that was sprinkled with granola so with the dry biscuits it felt like I’m eating gravel. For main I ordered a risotto with girolle and hazelnuts. Sounded and looked insanely good but was drenched in some overpowering lemon zest oil. The dish smelled like a cheap lemon candle. It was so bad that I couldn’t even eat any of it. To be honest I wasn’t even bothered about the food first, but the fact that the Waiters walked around, completely ignoring that I haven’t touched my food and waited circa 50 mins until my husband finished his meal to ask whether everything was alright really didn’t impress me at all.
We had a very bad experience and definitely won’t be returning.
The food is extraordinary with the set lunch, if you are able to dine at this time, being exceptional value. The dishes are intricate in design and flavour with a good selection of both meat and fish dishes.
I visited during one of the recent sunny days and was disappointed to find I was unable to dine outside as tables had been booked only to sat inside and stare at empty tables outside for the duration.
The inside experience is completely different as unfortunately whilst service is also of the highest quality the interior is poor. Light sucking mahogany wood, chintzy accessories and mismatched soft furnishings. It’s a shame as the food is worth visiting for time and a time again. And I will probably do so but with a prior request to sit outside.
It’s a number of years since I’ve eaten here but this was a very disappointing return visit.
My steak was poor quality meat and overcooked (not that any waiter enquired) despite me making clear my preference on ordering. They charged £34 for the steak alone and I’ve had better quality in chain restaurants for £10.
Sides were small. I left feeling hungry.
The cheeses were good but no bread just a couple of crackers. Again overpriced.
Overall a great disappointment!
To top it all they are charging vat at 20% on the whole meal despite the recent reduction for food to 5%.
I really couldn’t recommend it. Go to a gastropub and have better food and wine for half the price!
We went to Julie's to celebrate a friend's birthday earlier this week. We had a lovely table outside, perfect for the sunny London evening. As always, the service and food were impeccable. Despite the Covid-19 restrictions (temperature checks, sanitizer, social distancing) we had a lovely evening and were made to feel very welcome. The wait staff also presented a 'Happy Birthday' dessert, which was divine. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Julie’s is unique, and as near neighbours, we are delighted to have them back. TheIt food is definitely several classes better than it was before, pricey but excellent quality, beautifully served in a lovely environment. It’s the place to go for a nice lunch, happy breakfast or slightly more expensive posh dinner. Enjoy!
Having opened their doors post COVID it I was so pleased to visit, the food is brilliant, the decor is very stylish and their service is very friendly.
Certainly a spot to recommend!
Absolutely lovely! In every way. Didn’t give 5 stars for value because the portions are slightly on the small side. But delicious!
Delicious dinner in beautiful surroundings being looked after by charming and efficient staff.
Two successive visits confirmed opinion that the new Julie's is even better than it was before.
What a great place. It was my wife's birthday so the maitre D gave is both a free glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. Food was excellent.
Food was quite good but the ambiance and service are nowhere near like it used to be. This was once a buzzy neighbourhood restaurant. Service is now clinical and cold. Bring back Ronaldo!! Please!!
Second visit in Julie's new incarnation -- and best yet. Delightful welcome and attentive, personal service throughout our meal, and delicious, well-seasoned food -- creatively prepared. Sat in an intimate lower ground floor alcove, perfect for an evening meal.
We love the tucked-away location in Holland Park.
Stunning venue just the right balance between cosy and sophisticated. The food was delicious and perfect portion sizes.
