This place never fails to deliver. Excellent!
A bit expensive but good cuts of meats and delicious cheese cake.
My friends had Ribeye Steaks and a Filet that were excellent.
I ordered a Kansas City Strip and had to send it back and after 3 attempts to make my Medium Rare steak right, the waiter said, “Do you want me to kill another cow?”
Eventually they brought a 2nd steak that was uncooked. I sent that one back and they cooked it so that a few bites were done ok. I ate those bites and had a few bites of my friends’ steaks—as by this time everyone else was finished eating.
I had eaten there before and was blown away...
I had convinced my friends to eat at JW although there were many steakhouses much closer to where we were staying.
Really disappointed....and made worse by the wait staff making me feel really bad about sending my food back.
Lovely staff, they really made the evening special, including Diane , Erte and Joao made my boyfriend's 50th special and memorable, the ladies sang happy birthday to him when bringing the dessert with a candle, very nice. The steak was good, veg was good, wine, everything. Thank you to JW.
Our server Alejandro was fantastic! Excellent food and great ambience.
Amazing service and great food
I have been coming to JW for a number of years and have always been impressed by the quality of the food and the service as well.
We had a lovely meal at JW Steakhouse celebrating our 10th Year wedding Anniversary. The food overall was great and I'm wandering if it just might be better than Hawksmoor (or if it was a welcome change as I have been there so often). The rib eye was perfect and juicy even when cooked medium well, the truffle fries were amazing and as for the cheesecake.. divine.... they also put a lovely message on the plate..We shared the scallops which were also fab. We will be back!
Great steaks, nice wine list, interesting sides - not cheap, but a nice alternative to heading out in the rain after a long day of travel.
The waiter was very thorough when explaining the menu, and also efficient with bringing out our orders all at once. The steaks are the main dishes to try out, though the fish and burgers are just as delicious. Overall, it was a lovely night out with the family, and would definitely recommend this place for a once-in-a-while night out.
It is the second time that we went to JW Steakhouse and again it was an awesome experience. It isn't cheap, but it is worth every pound you pay. My husband still is convinced they serve the best meat he'd ever ate. I ordered fish, which also was delicious. And do not forget the cheesecake, even when you're not hungry anymore, you must try it!
The only downside was that our waitress wasn't very enthusiastic, she was polite, but that's it. The previous time we were served by a great waiter, he was very kind, so maybe I am a little too tough.
But overall it was a great experience and we will return! I would recommend the restaurant to everyone who enjoys good food, exquise wine and a cozy setting.
Great steaks, overall great menu food and ambiance ! Service excellent !
Very attentive and helpful staff, delicious food
Great food but filthy toilets
The waiter was fantastic and the food extraordinary but come on sort out the loo’s!!!!!!!!!
Saying the service was bad is an understatement
We were basically ignored
My sister in law got up twice to complain
The food was mediocre
The tomahawk is average, chewy and bland
Nothing like the ones in the states
Wouldn’t go back for dinner
BUT breakfast was much nicer
Best avoided. The food and wine selection was actually great. I was really looking forward to the evening and the ambience inside was actually quite good. It was a lovely summer evening and I made the mistake of asking for a table outside on the terrace. The customer behaviour on the terrace was truly appalling - on more than one table people were actively loading up loud YouTube videos on their phone and watching them and the wait staff said nothing to them. Total ambience killer. I’ve never seen anything like this at other upscale London restaurants. There seemed to be a core group of regulars / guests that are allowed to behave however they like regardless of how rude. Also, at this price point, the service was very variable - guys inside seemed on point, while on the terrace one guy was very cool to us while another kept trying to clear plates before we were done and poured our wine so unevenly that we had to swap glasses to compensate. Also, nothing they can do about this, but be aware that the noise of passing traffic on the terrace is pretty loud and sustained (would have been ok if other things went right, but was another negative for me given the overall experience). There are much better options if you want a steak in a nice atmosphere nearby. If you do go avoid the terrace unless you want someone’s phone blasting in your ears while you’re having your meal. Overall spent about 300 quid and left feeling very disappointed and actually a bit upset - and I am usually pretty nonchalant about these things.
Excellent food as always and the cheesecake is to die for but the lady serving us was quite rude and flippant towards the table. It’s also very hard to get the attention of servers and seem very bothered when you ask for something, it made us all feel very uncomfortable at the end.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended.child friendly as well.
Great outside patio on a beautiful summer evening. Service from Jairo and Peter was exceptional.
Only issue I have is the steak. I ordered the tomahawk ribeye as did my brother. My dad got a regular ribeye. The main problem is the sear on the steak is non existent and it was actually more medium rare than medium. I’m back again soon so hopefully they’ll get it right. On the positive side, it is the BEST cheesecake in London.
Best steak anywhere
Best cheesecake ever
The wine was superb, the service was exceptional and the bar tending were fantastic
We recently visited JW steakhouse for my fathers 70th birthday and the service & food was excellent.
At the end of the meal staff brought out a complimentary cheesecake to share which was a really lovely touch and a great finish to an excellent day.
Great food and service. The detox martini is sublime.
Fantastic restaurant, the meat was one of the best I've ever had. Pricey but worth it, very attentive staff, great atmosphere. The cheesecake is a must have, portion enough to share between 4-6 people.
A last minute find for the evening, very nice decor and ambience. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Menu had a good selection and the wine list was great.
Service was terrible. Arrived at 9pm and odder was taken only around 10pm. Waiters act like we were not there . We have been regular customers to JW Steakhouse for years and this is the 1st time we have such a horrible experience.
I have mentioned that tonight dinner was for my wife birthday ........ but no one cared about this ......... very poor .......
Brilliant service from start to finish. Requested Halal steaks for me and my wife ( whose birthday it was). At reservation they asked me for her name and what dessert she liked so they could prepare a special birthday message cake for her.
Food was cooked perfectly as always and you do not realize how big the portions are. The Mississippi mud pie and cheesecake are a must order !
Thank you once again for such a lovely time.
The best place I’ll choose for steak. Btw, I love the cheesecake.
We enjoyed a dinner, the food is brilliant, very good quality, we suggest to have a meal there, it is regularly expensive but ok for quality. Don't loose the cheese cake 😍
What a wonderfully evening...The service was exceptional, genuinely friendly and professional. The food was delicious, steaks cooked to perfection, good wine suggestions from restaurant manager and of course the best cheesecake in the world.
Excellent food, great service & great atmosphere. The waiter was very helpful with answering all our questions.
Food, service and ambience great as always. And don't forget the crab cakes - best ever!
Great meal, service, and atmosphere.
Have just booked our next Sunday lunch.
Service very slow. Long time to take orders, continuously had to ask for a waiter to be served throughout meal, very disappointing as this is the same situation from a previous visit. Need a lot more staff and better training as some waiters were quite rude
Great food and attentive, friendly service, not rushed...
The restaurant is stunning but the food was under par to most other establishments I have been too, the waiter was fantastic. Just a shame that the food didn’t match him at all, sea bass was so salty and the steak was tiny. The sides were Lao under seasoned would be ages before I would visit again
Amazing experience. Parker Rolls! Perfectly cooked to order filets! Cheesecake to die for! Totally top line steakhouse.
Detox Martini! Amazing cocktail and and the cheesecake oh wow! Pipe you are hungry. Very nice indeed
