Beautiful, elegant & delicious outdoor dining in new Covid world!
The food was great but the service was disappointing. The staff was not accommodating but most importantly we had to sit outside because of COVID restrictions and despite the fact that is was 8 degrees, the restaurant which is situated in a 5 star hotel did not provide us with a heater. By the main course, we couldn’t move our hands from the cold and woke up sick the next day. Disappointing experience..
Food was fantastic really delicious and well presented the team were all absolutely marvellous welcoming helpful polite efficient I couldn’t fault them. They probably had a skeleton staff due to only operating outside only which meant the food took a little longer to come out than usual but we were given the most gorgeous bread seasoned with sea salt and rosemary FOC whilst we waited. I recommend most definitely I’ve been before before we even heard of Covid but they still delivered in these difficult times so hats off and I most definitely will be going back.
Great quality, great service. Expensive but worth it.
Always a great experience. Service and value of food never disappoint. Looking forward to returning.
As always, exceptional food and service.. Overlooking Park Lane and Hyde Park is a great place to be..
I have dined at JW before, pre Covid and had a lovely time. Sadly not this time.
Four of us ate. Two were happy with their food but two of us were badly let down. We both had Tomahawks (the women happy with their Filets). Only the more expensive larger 1.25kg steaks available so we both plumped for those. Mine Medium Rare, his Medium Well. When the steaks arrived and were put down I asked which was Medium Rare. Shocked look from the waiter....they both were. So they trook away my son in law's for further cooking.
I tucked into my steak eating he softer edge part. Seemed rather over cooked but I expeced this was down to the size and as I headed inwards it would be just perfect. After all this is the expertise of the restaurant.
Sadly not. I cut into the middle and this was a Well Done steak. no redness at all. I complained, they asked me to show them the centre and quite rightfully apologised taking the steak away. Given we had already got out of sync with the other steak I just said I would have a filet.
We are outside - Covid rules. And the heating broke down. Not their fault. Probably overloaded the fuses/cabling. So for a large part of the meal we were freezing. No real fault but we suffered. I won't go into some of the other more minor irritations other than, my wife has a love of English mustard. After three times of asking they brought her two varieties of French mustard. We gave up asking.
When the bill came, less my returned Tomahawk but including my replacement filet it was heading towards £400 and we only had two glasses of wine. I just paid it. My daughter and her partner's Birthdays and I really didn't want to make it awkward for them. I also feel sorry for the restaurant industry in general and right now forgive mistakes.
But....this is wrong. The Grosvenor is a well established venue that charges top money for services. Those services this night fell well short of any kind of acceptable standard.
Great way to spend the first evening out post lockdown. Food and service exceptional as always!
We didn’t enjoy our dinner mainly because it was freezing cold and the restaurant couldn’t provide enough heating for all tables. One would think if you are opening for outdoor dining given the time of year and that it snowed in the morning you would provide enough heating but we were sat in the cold. When our food arrived it was cold within seconds. Not a great experience at all given we waited for months for a steak meal!
Exceptional service. Sarah & especially Christina out of this world. Decent food, but not amazing to be fair. Zero complaints.
Very different and small menu
Outdoor dining was good although loud due to being on Park Lane. Food was decent nothing particularly to write home about. The cheesecake was quite good. Service and ambiance was great.
Excellent Porterhouse steak cooked to perfection. Just a fabulous place and food
The starters and desserts were really tasty but unfortunately the Sunday roast main was a let down as it was lukewarm at best and the meat was quite chewy.
The staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly and the cocktails packed a punch!
Overall, the deal made it good value for money (if only for the cheesecake, which could be a substantial meal all by itself!).
Service was on point . Food and desserts were very nice
Food & Staff was so lovely
Very poor , overpriced food. Staff were pleasant and helpful but it took ages to pay our bill
Excellent restaurant with great food, staff and atmosphere
Wonderful place, very professional and friendly service
I had a fillet steak which cost me £46.00 and I had to pay extra for any veg I wanted but surely for the cost they could provide a few carrots or broccoli I mean veg is cheap .Also the wine list was very poor I know its the year of covid but you can still buy wine even from the supermarkets.
Excellent food as you’d expect, delicious steak and also scallops for starter. Not cheap, so hard to rate as great value but probably what you’d expect. Slightly let down by too noisy an atmosphere (not helped by the guy at the next table barking into his phone). Service great at first, but hard to get attention in the corner when wishing to pay.
We had a wonderful family time at the steakhouse. Service was great, the steak was wonderful, I’m truly happy about all.
Had a Sunday lunch just gone. Lamb was amazing, and so generous with portions. Impressed that cauliflower cheese was included. Finished with the unbelievable cheesecake, was so so full up afterwards. Will return if in the area
A return to one of my favourite steak restaurants. I had a Tuna Tartare starter, and was lovely. For mains, I had the 1000g Tomahawk Steak Medium Rare, and it was served to perfection. A friendly welcome, superb service and fantastic food. Highly recommended.
Had a great time here, food was amazing and service was great.
Just love it! We always order the same Fillet Steak! Mouth watering!
Good steaks, equally good options available for those who do not like beef.
Excellent service, relaxed quiet atmosphere - absolutely delicious food.
Amazing food and service as always. Feels spacious so good and comfortable in these times if covid
