‘Beccleuch Estate Sirloin with black pepper, garlic flakes and sliced Chinese croissant’ ‘Steamed Chilean Sea bass Fillet, Chopped Snow Leaf topped with Shrimp Crumble’ are examples of Kai’s modern approach to Chinese cooking. The style is fresh and innovative but never forgetting it’s true Chinese roots.
‘The gracious service makes one feel like a regular within a visit or two.’ Zagat 2009
Dinner: Monday-Saturday 6:30PM-10:30PM
The restaurant is fake
they take overcharged meals and play as if they are sophisticated.
The duck was so bad , all the other food it's better to eat street markets than this.
It is the worst restaurant I have ever been in and first review I am writing just because I could not help
believing it is just fake do not ever go their.
All gimmicks and no substance.
Poor table squeezed by the stairs!!! No view of the room no feeling of the atmosphere
Perfect food, everything was outstanding
Kia was booked for a very special occasion and it was definitely worth it.The food, ambiance and service was all outstanding. The staff were extremely accommodating considering there was an under five in the party and we wanted particular food with halal options.we would most certainly dine there again.
Food did not meet expectations. Did not finish off any of the dishes, manager seemed very upset that it was not finished, we asked for her to clear the table and to bring the desserts as we were running short of time. She ignored us and left, we had to wait another 10 minutes before I was able to get the attention of a waiter. We would have expected her to acknowledge that all the dishes were left as we did not like them, or at least a discount could have been offered, but she did not come off as accommodating.
On the other hand, the padan creme brûlée was absolutely Devine! if I was to come back, it wouldnt be for the main dishes or the service, but definitely for the dessert.
I expected more from a Michelin star restaurant. The service was average and the food was the same. Nothing very special.
Food was decent, but service very unattentive and disappointing. Spectacular cocktails though!
Very good service. Quick and polite. Recommend for anyone going on an intimate dinner.
Was a delightful experience, amazing service provided by Codrin.
Codrin is an amazing asset to your fine establishment.
Thank you all for a pleasant evening
Excellent food and amazing range of vegetarian options. Given the price, the service was not what I would have expected. Not bad at all and nothing wrong with it...just not quite in the same league as hakkasan service which is excellent. For example clearing plates away for some in the party when others were still eating. However the food is superior to hakkasan in my opinion! Will definitely return. It is very expensive though
Wonderful staff and lovely food. Try their dessert menu! Definitely imprinted a lovely experience in my memory.
Food is amazing. Probably the best Chinese in London overall based on my experience.Of course the ambience is not Hutong but in my view the food more than makes up for it. The wasabi prawns are pretty special.
Excellent service and food.
Really good atmosphere and vibe.
One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been too!
One of the best Asian restaurants in my experiences globally.
Love the food the best Chinese in London, great service.
A must visit.
Ginger spring onion lobster with noodles and roasted Chilean sea bass. Wassabi prawns to start.
Loves the European Provence against the style of food
Ottima l’accoglienza. I piatti sono fantastici. Il personale molto attento e gentile . Gamberi con wassabi maionese, branzino cileno, manzo con salsa pepe nero... i dessert sono meravigliosi
Business meal, food was outstanding, great service. Best to order sharing plates, and use the spinning table to move dishes around to share. We had a table for 5. Smaller tables won't have spinning thing.
Duck pancakes were amazing. Don't miss out on the desserts!
Went with the Mrs. and ordered like half a dozen items from menu as it was our last night in London and we wanted to experience several very different dishes. The food was fantastic and the service matched with the sommelier in particular adding to the experience.
Best food in town!
Better restaurants for the same price
Fantastic meal with my partner & in-laws as always! It was very nice being welcomed back like old friends. I am disabled & the fact that there is no disabled access toilet is the only downside to this beautiful restaurant. We would've had another bottle of wine had I been able to use the facilities. They are down 2 & a half flights of stairs with only partial handrails. Being able to climb & descend stairs is a must for this restaurant. It's well worth a visit if you're able to.
Family of 5 everyday dinner cost £750! And 3 of us were ill afterwards. Shame as service was good and food tasty.
Lovely food, great service and plenty of Veg options. Do not miss trying the deserts - esp. the ‘Chocolate does grow on Trees’
It was our anniversary lunch and the staff made it a memorable occasion. Food was absolutely amazing and the service was really good.
No flavour to food,
Chicken dishes are undercooked and very dry if you have it with rice/noodles
Would rather go to a local Asian take away than go here again with the prices for a fried chicken leg with some burnt masala type thing with it. Really hurt
Me to pay the money and I don’t ever moan!!!
Little Plates menu for a long lunch was wonderful, especially the soft shell crab, lamb and spicy chicken. Felt I was being upsold a little by the waiter which was a bit disappointing as to number of dishes.
They do allow children in here, so be aware of that, especially as some tables are close together.
Overall it was very good but wasn’t as good as some experiences I’ve had
Rude staff, average food not to mention the main dish Peking duck not available. Fried duck served with cold pancakes and when we told the waiter she decided to rudely stick her hand in to touch them and then walked away and literally “threw” another portion on our table. Awful, would never recommend...cannot believe this is a Michelin starred restaurant and had totally different expectations especially regarding service which was way below average. Will definitely not see me again
Amazing as always
food excellent as is the venue but this time round the service very strange as the two waitresses just stood huddled talking to one another not really serving or paying ANY attention to the diners. Very weird experience. Would go back for the veg duck dish absolutely amazing as were the other vegetarian dishes.
Planned a special 10 year anniversary meal here. I told the restaurant in advance that it was a special occasion and my partner and I are both vegan and we were told a note was made in our file. However when we arrived the waiter at our table did not know. Not only did he not know thay we were vegan but he did not appear to know what vegan was. He pointed us to the vegetarian menu and said that we can pick all items except for the egg noodles. We then explained to him that we don’t eat any animal products and explained what vegan is. He then asked us if we ate fish. Being vegan should be something that all staff are aware of. We chose what we wanted and eventually, after a very long time, the waiter came back to our table. He then told us that there was only 2 starters and 3 main courses that were vegan. He did not tell us that before and neither was I told this on the phone. this therefore meant we had to eat those specific dishes. The food taste was good, although very small portions for the price, but our evening was spoiled a bit by being limited to what we chose. We were still hungry after our meal and would really have liked our waiter to speak to the kitchen to see if an alternative vegan dish could be made based on the other dishes we liked the sound of. It would also be really good to see at least one vegan dessert other than sorbet.
Food is not tasteful at all, two stars is for the dessert.
An authentic but yet creative Chinese restaurant, very yummy food, desserts were excellent, highly recommended, will definitely return!!
The food is nice for a Chinese family, but the service and ambiance is below the anticipation. The attitude of waiters are much nicer than waitresses.
Absolutely fantastic meal to celebrate the in-laws Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The food was amazing as was the champagne & wine. It was a really lovely touch that Kai's presented a 'happy anniversary' plate. Beautiful.
Perfect, everything is perfect
