Fantastic meal with my partner & in-laws as always! It was very nice being welcomed back like old friends. I am disabled & the fact that there is no disabled access toilet is the only downside to this beautiful restaurant. We would've had another bottle of wine had I been able to use the facilities. They are down 2 & a half flights of stairs with only partial handrails. Being able to climb & descend stairs is a must for this restaurant. It's well worth a visit if you're able to.
Family of 5 everyday dinner cost £750! And 3 of us were ill afterwards. Shame as service was good and food tasty.
It was our anniversary lunch and the staff made it a memorable occasion. Food was absolutely amazing and the service was really good.
No flavour to food,
Chicken dishes are undercooked and very dry if you have it with rice/noodles
Would rather go to a local Asian take away than go here again with the prices for a fried chicken leg with some burnt masala type thing with it. Really hurt
Me to pay the money and I don’t ever moan!!!
Little Plates menu for a long lunch was wonderful, especially the soft shell crab, lamb and spicy chicken. Felt I was being upsold a little by the waiter which was a bit disappointing as to number of dishes.
They do allow children in here, so be aware of that, especially as some tables are close together.
Overall it was very good but wasn’t as good as some experiences I’ve had
Rude staff, average food not to mention the main dish Peking duck not available. Fried duck served with cold pancakes and when we told the waiter she decided to rudely stick her hand in to touch them and then walked away and literally “threw” another portion on our table. Awful, would never recommend...cannot believe this is a Michelin starred restaurant and had totally different expectations especially regarding service which was way below average. Will definitely not see me again
Amazing as always
Planned a special 10 year anniversary meal here. I told the restaurant in advance that it was a special occasion and my partner and I are both vegan and we were told a note was made in our file. However when we arrived the waiter at our table did not know. Not only did he not know thay we were vegan but he did not appear to know what vegan was. He pointed us to the vegetarian menu and said that we can pick all items except for the egg noodles. We then explained to him that we don’t eat any animal products and explained what vegan is. He then asked us if we ate fish. Being vegan should be something that all staff are aware of. We chose what we wanted and eventually, after a very long time, the waiter came back to our table. He then told us that there was only 2 starters and 3 main courses that were vegan. He did not tell us that before and neither was I told this on the phone. this therefore meant we had to eat those specific dishes. The food taste was good, although very small portions for the price, but our evening was spoiled a bit by being limited to what we chose. We were still hungry after our meal and would really have liked our waiter to speak to the kitchen to see if an alternative vegan dish could be made based on the other dishes we liked the sound of. It would also be really good to see at least one vegan dessert other than sorbet.
Food is not tasteful at all, two stars is for the dessert.
An authentic but yet creative Chinese restaurant, very yummy food, desserts were excellent, highly recommended, will definitely return!!
The food is nice for a Chinese family, but the service and ambiance is below the anticipation. The attitude of waiters are much nicer than waitresses.
Absolutely fantastic meal to celebrate the in-laws Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The food was amazing as was the champagne & wine. It was a really lovely touch that Kai's presented a 'happy anniversary' plate. Beautiful.
Perfect, everything is perfect
Very bad experience. Wouldn’t recommend
Pleasant, even posh, surroundings and courteous table service were ruined by poor and very expensive food. It was tepid and swimming in grease. For that quality, just 2 dishes, 1 portion of rice and a pot of jasmine tea I paid £90. As President Trump would say, very bad!
One of my favorite restaurants in London. Fabulous food and impeccable service. Upscale and wonderful.
Excellent food and service. Already booked to come back again.
The staff was very polite and took great care about us.
As always, a pleasure to spend our anniversary at Kai, as we do every year. Great service, drinks, food and atmosphere.
Very nice experience with very nice staff and service
Over priced. Too expensive for a dinners.. portions are too small for even one person
New year evening but i was surprised there was no celebration at all
Und ein ganz besonderes essen
The food was beyond great. Duck and tiger prawns were amazing as were the desserts! Wine list was also good and worth checking out.
Make a trip to this gem in Mayfair!
Holiday in London, one of our favorite restaurants in London. Every visit to Kai is a culinary experience with flavors that are beyond imagination. If you miss going to Kai when in London, you’ve missed one of the truly memorable meals of a lifetime.
The restaurant is a disgrace to Chinese cuisine. It is the first time that I write a comment and the only reason is that the Kai is too bad. Any restaurants, namely, in China town outperform this one taking the price into considerations.
When sitting down, no one is serving you. After two requests, the food menu is finally provided. The two dishes I order are sold out. Please don't open reservation for 8:30 if insufficient food is prepared. Last but not the least, the restaurant counts one dish twice in the bill and it is only found out after payment. Even KFC would not do such a thing. The restaurant is worth no star. After the dinner, the waiter bring our coats incorrectly twice.
Please don't go to this one and trust me. The food they provide is not authentic. The ma-po tofu is sweet jeez.
Visited Kai after around 2 years. Location in Mayfair is prime. Food was good , service very good but ambience so and so. Restaurant with basement space doesn’t help. Nice overall dinner date but not in my top picks.
Excellent food and equally great service. Definitely the best Chinese in the city without question.
The food was amazing and the waiters were friendly but the heaters were so high.
Always a experience eating at Kai, one of our favourite restaurants. Although the team is new, but very switched on. Will keep going back.
Really first class restaurant. Service excellent, food delicious, nice friendly atmosphere. I would thoroughly recomend it.
In short ... perfection is the address of this restaurant
This is a nice restaurant. We're sitting on the ground floor. People are having a party, so it's a little noisy. The waiter's attitude is quite right, but the dish is a little dirty. The food is really good, the wasabi prawn is really delicious, and the lobster noodles, we are very happy. The dessert is just as good. In short, the restaurant is highly recommended for this Chinese cuisine.
Good food, good service as always. Waiters always eager to give you personal service.
Great cocktails, and an incredible vegetarian menu.
I booked for a party of 6 for a birthday and we were given the private room which was perfect. Service was a little more slow compared to the first time I went to Kai but overall it was a great experience!
Will definitely be going back again.
Lovely experience with excellent vegetarian food and scrumptious desserts. Plus and added extra petit four for a birthday.
The food isn't that good comparing other similar restaurants. The service is outstanding. But I don't recommend this restaurant.
Absolutely fantastic service and the food was exquisite
