Kai Ratings and Reviews
Great cocktails, and an incredible vegetarian menu.
I booked for a party of 6 for a birthday and we were given the private room which was perfect. Service was a little more slow compared to the first time I went to Kai but overall it was a great experience!
Will definitely be going back again.
A spectacular tasting lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The whole culinary experience was faultless and the service was impeccable. (I can also confirm that the hot and sour soup, as the menu suggests, is the best ever). The lovely treat from the restaurant to mark our anniversary was unexpected and a wonderful gesture.
Extremely convenient for those attending an event at McCaw Hall,
The food is as good or better than any other restaurant in the neighborhood.
The ambiance of McCaw Hall is very lovely.
My only criticism is that the portions were on the small side.
I don't eat meat which meant I was limited with no options for what I could have from their 4 course and champagne menu. While this wasn't so much of an issue it would have been nice to have a choice or two. To be honest everything I had was beautiful. My main course Sea bass was slightly under cooked and when I made the waitress aware and asked her to get the kitchen to cook it a bit longer she came back saying the kitchen was closed however the manager came straight over and rectified the problem so no issue was made. This did not take away from my experience because overall the flavours were beautiful.
The dessert was amazing! I can't even explain how rich and succulent this chocolate dessert was....it truly was worth the wait.
The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend a visit. While it was expensive I came away more than happy and i'm even tempted to return for their dessert menu.
