The location was gorgeous and had a chic but approachable feel. Cozy and well lit, we had a great little table on the top floor overlooking the courtyard. The service was fantastic, the waiter answered all of my annoying questions and suggested courses and cocktail pairings. He did not lead us astray. It was DELICIOUS and we’re still thinking about all the dishes. There were some combos I never thought of together but I was beyond pleasantly surprised. Excellent restaurant, I would come here again and recommend to anyone visiting Berlin.
Ausgezeichnetes Essen & toller bedachter Service. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
Tolles Ambiente, Einrichtung und Gebäude. Essen eigenständug und sehr gut.
Candy on bone pork was delicious. Light and sumptuous!
The place is really rather noisy, it makes conversations possible but tiring. We were also not pleased to find out that our reservations was limited to 2 hours (I had reserved for 19:00 and when we arrived (on time) we were told that we had to be out of the door at 21:15). In the end it hurt them more than us as we just found a nice place for desert elsewhere but still...
Food was ok but the pork/beef they are so proud of is just: well good pork/beef - some of the pulled pork/beef one gets elsewhere (Texas...) is definitely better.
Nothing really to complain about but in the end at that price level it's not a place to go back to.
We were placed in the neben Lokal and the noise and the acoustics in the room were terrible beyond description. We will not return to this restaurant for a very long time and definitely not be seated in this room again.
The starter’s menus were not great as we have had them before
7€ for bottle of water that we had to ask four times, and half way through our meal we received water.
The air conditioning was not working in the upstairs back section and it was unbareable for all 4 of us to sit and eat as the heat increased.
Very expensive restaurant for the type of food served. A giant cauliflower that has no flavor and cooked a little is not creative.
We ordered a started of fries cooked in duck fat. We had about 25% left of the fries when our entrees arrived at the table. The gusset came by and grabbed the sauce containers and put them on the fries in the fry container. We said “Hallo, were not done” he looked at us and the fries and then ran away very fast to the back as he knew there was still food left.
We were right on time for our reservation and the restaurant was not ready for us. They sat us on a couch in the toilets area for 20 minutes. No air conditioning there either.
We needed to walk outside to get air since we were in a sweat box upstairs. They appoint a doorman to literally just shoo ah people to be quiet as we walk outside. Paying 166€ to be boiling hot and be shushed as we go outside to get air is not my idea of a good experience
Two hour dining window.
The wines were overpriced and still not very good.
Selection was obviously based on region and choice were secondary and tertiary wines.
We spent 150 per bottle and received average wines.
The food was standard I ubiquitously available German fair, barely enhanced or made hip.
Hip is the word for this place forget the food and wine enjoy seeing and be seen. fortunately it all ended 120 min after our original reservation time. Time to go now!
This place is the Katz whiskers, book a table with friends and just enjoy the food and ambience
Per usual, Katz Orange astounds. Fantastic meal! Try the Peach-Sage gin cocktail.
Lovely spot; interesting casual menu, warm reception.
Its a great place, very nice location, great ambience and interior design, super nice service, but a bit pricy.
They recommend candy on a bone as their speciality but this time I was disappointed, the pork (Ham) was dry and didn't have outstanding flavor, in my opinion not worth 22€ per person, besides that they don't have big choice for the main menu, however the starters were super tasty and much more innovative.
I always choose Katz Orange when come to Berlin. Grate cuisine and very nice stuf! Love this place very much!
A fantastic location in a fantastic building. Starters were a little disappointing, but the slow-cooked lamb main was incredible! Drinks are fairly expensive, but I expected that for this kind of restaurant. Disappointing that wine only comes in 125ml glasses as they go too quickly! Staff were all great and very friendly. My partner even had a second helping of the lamb free of charge. Would recommend for the ambience alone.
Really great time there... everything was great and I would recommend this restaurant... The only thing I dislike was having a 2 hours slot to eat and enjoy... this is not total fun to have to check a watch....
Really great place that I booked based on Lonely Planet recommendation.
The ceviche starter was devine but aubergine burrata not so. Speciality Pork was to die for, really tender & succulent. We had sides based on waitress suggestion but really not needed as so big. Cheese cake dessert nice but my dessert (can’t remrmber name) in s little pan, spongy base was stodgy in consistency and coffee crumb flavour overpowering and so bitter it ruined the dish.
Bar downstairs was lovely. Very strict on 2 hour turnaround so felt under pressure.
Beautiful setting, great service - perfect evening ! We will be back ...
The food, service, and ambiance were excellent.
Our cocktails were also very good.
I had the whole roasted cauliflower with a brown butter sauce, it was the kind of great food that could turn many into vegetarians.
My wife had the slow roasted pork and found it equally delicious.
Highly recommend this place.
Really tasty, the menu is quite small but the quality is really nice.
Loved the food and the vibrating atmosphere! The service was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.
This Restaurant is terrible noisy, we will not visit it again.
We loved the interior! The bar and its ingredients in jars, the huge chandelier giving the space yet subtle warm light, and each piece of furniture was very well put in the room.
Now the food: We ordered ribs, burrata as predish. Ribs were amazing, I could eat them as main dish too. Burrata was okay, I had better. It lacked seasoning. As main dish, we went for lamb and sweet potatoes as sides. That was what we expected most from, but lamb unfortunately had a very strong aftertaste. If it wasn't for a gravy, we wouldn't have finished the meal. The aftertaste was too strong both in smell and taste! One would say, sweet potatoes tasted better than the meat.
However, Kirschclafoutis brought the spark back and stole the game! This dessert was divine and very comforting in the cold weather. Espresso was nice too, strong.
Fantastic food & ambiance, good service & amazing location
Excellent food and very friendly, funny and professional staff. Thanks guys for this fantastic dinner experience.
Great food with quirky and very helpful staff. We really enjoyed celebrating my husband's birthday on our first night in Berlin.
KO was recommended to us for our trip to Berlin, and we are so thankful that we made the trip! Walking through the courtyard to the restaurant we were struck by it's warmth and ambience - even from outside - on a rainy night. The food and beverage offerings were lovely. The wine list was deep but accessible and decently priced. The food was gorgeous - every course was so nice. The 12 hour lamb for 2 people was the highlight of all of our evenings out in Berlin. What took the experience over the edge however was the service. While our main server was a warm young woman who was both delightful and helpful, every person in the restaurant was willing and able to help out. Our drinks and food were check on by all in a very surreptitious fashion. We were thrilled with our evening at Katz Orange and highly recommend it.
I ordered the pork and they said it was for 2 people but they make exceptions for a single portion sometimes. When it came I could straight away tell how dry it was. It really was a waste of a nice piece of meat. So I sent it back and ordered the same salmon as my girlfriend. She ended up finishing her meal before mine arrived.
We were given nothing as compensation, no cocktail or free desert. So we just payed straight after the main course and left.
Found it extremely over rated.
My words to my girlfriend was that the beer was the best thing, and that was from Belgium
So ein schlechtes Essen habe ich noch nie gehabt.
Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr schlecht....
Würste für 15 Euro die miserabel sind. Lachs getrocknet, Senfgurken im Essigmeer...
The Restaurant was recommended by a Friend in Chicago !! It lived up to everything and more.. We were in town for The Berlin Marathon ! Service was exceptional the best in Berlin !
As the stars imply, we were a bit disapointed. Our expectations were high, and especialy the service was at a low standard. Nothing more than delivering our orders. Had’nt any wine on the table, when our food arrived is a good example of lacking skills... Not beeing able to sit outdoors with a drink - pulling the rating down as well...
Only words Many Thanks for good atmosphere!!!
After Marathon event - it will a great relax
Das Essen ist hervorragend, der Service aufmerksam, die Wartezeiten erfreulich kurz.
Allein die Raumakustik ist bei voll besetztem Restaurant mit lebhaften Leuten etwas anstrengend.
PROBABLY THE BEST LAMB I HAVE EATEN IN MY LIFE - TRY THEIR SIGNATURE DISHES!
Again, a great evening in the KO-Restaurant in Down-town of Berlin. Amazing good food & wine. Thx. to the whole KO team.
Our group of four friends came here on a Friday evening during our visit to Berlin. The food was delicious and the staff were helpful with some excellent recommendations. Great cocktails and wine too. The atmosphere was lovely although not quite as lively as we would have liked - perhaps because we had an early reservation.
We were visiting Berlin and Katz Orange was recommended by a friend. So glad we went. The restaurant is lovely, food is excellent and service is great. This place is a gem.
Over priced and unimpressive food.
We've been here twice, the first time we had a lamb dish which was very poor for the price and bland.
Second time, the ceviche with orange just didn't taste good at all, bad combination and the aubergine & burrata, was horrible: cold aubergine covered in a raw curry paste, then burrata on top with a bitter garlic pesto on top, then it was also sprinkled with chopped green olives and rocket salad all over - bizarre combination of ingredients. The other dishes weren't very well balanced either.
We were charged 7.50 euros for each bottle of water which seemed ridiculous too, and the bottle arrives already opened so you have no idea if it's from the tap or not.
Overall the food is not great, you are paying for the atmosphere and the staff are very nice so if you do go probably best to stick to the cocktail bar area and avoid the food.
After horrible service all over Berlin, this was so refreshing!! Super attentive servers who spoke excellent English and actually were present. Food was fantastic. We did the family meal and it was a ton of food, all of which was excellent!
