Lovely relaxed atmosphere! We were made very well come by the friendly staff. One offered to take some photos of us without even having to be asked! Got a table in a quiet area like we asked for! A great afternoon tea! Scones were the best! Then a nice stroll through the gardens! Definitely a place to visit again! MoreOpenTable Diner -
We're not in the area often, but would always choose to come here. Menu is extensive and we've not been disappointed with any choices yet. I think it caters for a wide range of occasions from causal every day dining to group bookings and events. Staff are typically friendly and helpful although we do try to avoid busy times because it can be slower going during peak dining. Will definitely return. MoreOpenTable Diner -
We had a very nice meal last Sunday with family, including grandchildren. We are very fond of the carvery, the meat is always tender with plenty of lovely vegetables, especially the cauliflower cheese! The puddings are also very nice. One thing we did find disappointing was that there were no cheese and biscuits on the menu. One of our party is not a "pudding person" but loves his cheese and biscuits! We have visited this venue on a couple of occasions last year for lunch and enjoyed the experience also. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Welcome to the Black Horse, a wonderful pub in Perfick Pluckley.
This beautiful beamed country pub steeped in history was built in the 1470's as a dry moated farmhouse to the prominent Dering Family, with 5 log burning fires throughout the bar and restaurant. Ideally sited for the breathtaking walks around Pluckley and beyond. The pub is also well known for it's many ghosts, one of which being an invisible phantom who makes himself known by moving both glasses and possessions around the pub -which can go missing for days on end. Many customers have felt or seen the presence of a small child. This long history of happenings has been experienced by both the Landlady & landlord, and customers throughout the pubs rich history.
