great hotel with a great resturant, my liver was superb, my wife steak was delicious, they were even able to convert a sweet at a moments notice to dairy free. lovely but not over attentive staff, prices ok, treat cost rather than every day. will deffinately be back. More

The food was only ok. The starter of fish cakes was enjoyable, tasty and hot , but the Moroccan vegetables was disappointingly tasteless except the overriding taste of balsamic vinegar. More

Emma and the team at The Valiant Sailor welcome you to our beautiful village nestled at the top of the White Cliffs. Dating back to 1782 The Valiant is a cosy country pub in Capel le Ferne, the 'Village in the Clouds' between Folkestone and Dover, next to the Battle of Britain Memorial. The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner, serving delicious homemade meals using local produce and a delicious roast on Sundays and earned a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2017 and 2018. We offer a large range of keg, cask and craft beers, plus a selection of fine wines, spirits and soft drinks. It is a family and dog friendly pub with a roaring open fire in the winter. There is a large beer garden with a children's play area, a spacious car park and a covered smoking area. The pub is on the North Downs Way and England Coast Path and we welcome ramblers and walking groups. Motor homes are also welcome for pub stopovers. More

Upon arrival we were greeted at reception and shown through to the restaurant. We were then shown to our prepared table and offered tea or coffee . Our cream tea then arrived within a few minutes which consisted of a mixture of small sandwiches, 2 fruit and 2 Devon scones with cream and strawberry jam and a selection of cakes. We were also supplied with more tea. Overall efficient service with a smile and a tasty cream tea which we thoroughly enjoyed. More

I booked for Sunday lunch at 1pm and asked for a window table. When we arrived, we were told that there was no booking for us. When I protested, they found my booking under "Afternoon tea". This was not a good start but things got better. The staff laid up a table by the window and looked after us well. The carvery was good - slightly tough meat but good selection of vegetables. Drinks were very reasonable and the total bill was less than expected. The hotel has lovely old world charm and in a perfect position for a walk after lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. More
